All in all, though, each of those shows that CN killed still had the entirety of their seasons fully completed before CN pulled the plug on their airing them.o.supreme wrote:Sabrblade wrote:If you recall what happened with Beware the Batman. CN pulled the plug on airing that show after just 11 episodes had aired, but that show was not produced by CN itself. Rather, it was produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment (separate but related companies from CN itself), who had completed the show's 26-episode Season 1 production, and who managed to find alternative venues to get the rest of the season released to its viewers.
Actually that is a perfect example, Beware the Batman did not get any other channel to air its remaining episodes, instead, perhaps because of some contractual obligation, CN "aired" the remaining 15 during the middle of the night on adult swim, when they knew very few people if anyone would be watching. Also two other very popular Warner/DC shows (Young Justice & Green Lantern) got canceled by CN because "toys were not selling"...thankfully the fandom has been heard in the case of YJ and after 6 years, and a ton of miracles, it is getting a 3rd season on Netflix.
But these are just a couple of examples, CN has been known as "The Place where Good Cartoons go to Die" for sometime. Fortunately it appears Hasbro will be going another direction, as it normally does about every 3 years, so they wont have to worry about wondering if CN will pick up another season or not, I'm sure season 3 will have a proper ending. I can only hope that whatever the next mainstream Transformers Animated series is, that Hasbro does not continue to partner with CN...too much bad history there. If they are smart, they will partner with Netflix.

It looks ridiculous because it's supposed to look ridiculous.
Ahh, okay, I see. Maybe I can tolerate it for a few more lives then.

It was nice seeing Team Bee go up against an actual Decepticon and fall flat on their face. They talked about losing their sharpness and all, but the Bee Team spent all of its "training" up against recently released prisoners. Sure, ther was Screamer, but they had help for him. That being said, I don't feel like this really needed to be 2 episodes. I am not sure what you cut out to to condense it, other than the totally unneeded Football game, as most of the action sequences were needed. but Heatseeker alone wasn't really enough to warrant two episodes. He felt repetitve. I liked his motives, and his stregy, and dare I say it his aggressiveness, although I completely agree with Pryme Strikeron hi vocal delivery., whoever Heatseeker's voice actor is really sucks donkey ass. The line delivery on that 'con was absolutely abysmal and cringeworthy.
Sideswipe/Strongarm felt like a step backwards. Surely by now they should be working in better synce in spite of each other's idiosyncracies. Iam kinda tired of that, too.
Poor Grimlock.
The Minicon really felt like a "To Sell Toys!" moment. ZFlying Bunblebee served no purpose, and as far as knocking loose his DH and scanner, that could easily have been chalked up to his regular battle with HeatSeeker. Is what it is though, I guess.
I am however, truly excited to see the Stunticons in action. Not sure why, but I have really resonated with them and even before Season 2 thought they would be good opponents for an Earth-based Autobot team. No huge interstellar plots, just good old King of the Road.
Soundwave spoke! While I, Like a lot of others, enjoyed his silent Prime run, lets be realistic, how else is he going to communicate when he's in another dimension? Gesture wildly? Shadow puppets? Long as he is not a chatterbox.
Fanfiction idea: What if, instead of Megatronus, it was Soundwave who orchestrated the crashing of the Alchemor on Earth? I've toyed with that thought for a long time, had they done that, they would have saved a season of "How is this a Sequel?"
I wonder how Soundwave gets loose from the Shadowzone?
+ we still dunno how he got his new FOC/WFC style look either

Btw loved the episodes(all 7 of them...so far)
Crustacean just looks the same or similar to Ped, loved the flying Bee(in vehicle mode), it was cool to see the Beeformer(unconscious in one of the earlier eps & stumbling about in a later ep), new look Blurr is cool(even though we still don't yet know if Rescue Bots is getting a 5th season or not?), cool to see two of the Stunticons combine(which btw is shown in the title sequence anyway), dunno when we'll get a good look at Motormaster? as he keeps on hiding in the shadows, can't wait for the rest of the season to see Menasor, Galvatronus, Bruticus, Soundwave & whoever else new is coming into it + the odd appearance of a Rescue Bots character

... alright, it's great that we're getting backstory on Drift that probably has to do with him being a former Decepticon; but Shadow Raker? Shadow Raker? Even for Transformers names that's stupid.

Which I suppose would go well juxtaposed to Drift's samurai design........
*cough*

TWC Central has updated with new episode listings for Robots in Disguise: Combiner Force. The new episodes, titled episodes 8 and 9, feature 2 members of the team: Strongarm and Drift. Strongarm shapes up to flex some Sherlock muscles, while we finally get the backstory on Drift and his minicons. Heck, the listings are even nice enough to give us a name that totally would work as a Thunderhoof retool in the form of Shadow Raker! Check out the episode listings below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!
Season 3 Episode 9:
Out of the Shadows
The Bee Team learns about Drift's past when his former mentor Shadow Raker comes to Earth to recover something Drift has taken from him - Slipstream and Jetstorm.
Season 3 Episode 8:
Get a Clue
Strongarm flexes her detective muscles to solve a baffling series of Decepticon thefts; she may need to stand up to her teammates in order to bring a perp to justice.

Of course! Hopefully it'll be original, but they may be trying to tie in some comic fans. "Y'know he was like that in the comics too!" Or they're playing it safe with a comics original character, as too not stray too far from his original backstory as to not upset fans of the character.
I mean, Hasbro has never rehashed and completely changed a comics original's backstory before in RiD.

Funny thing is, his whole deal of being a former Decepticon almost never plays into Drift's character. Oh sure, it happened in his spotlight and both of his spin-off miniseries in IDW, but beyond that? It doesn't come up during MTMTE, you wouldn't even know it's a part of his character in AOE unless you read one of the Titan comics (though, to be fair, you wouldn't know Drift's name in AOE unless you squinted hard at a two-second scene), and this is the first time it's coming up in Aligned. When he first created Drift, Shane McCarthy said he wanted to see what a character would be like if they were a Decepticon who turned Autobot - because that hadn't happened before 2008, clearly - and then never brought it up in AHM. Weird.
So what am I getting at here? This is the first time that any Drift will face their status of being a former Decepticon in the main story.

You getting at something? Thought you were just making a point.
You do actually have a point, though. And, as a show for kids, it could have the theme of "past actions do have consequences". Which would be a nice move away from the standard "teamwork is best" stuff they keep pushing. Plus, it would make me like Drift even more.
...wait. Kids learning actually lessons from shows is something of the past? Ohhhh... oops, wrong decade.
Sidenote: In one of the shorts, they say how Slipstream and Jetstorm meet Drift, don't they?

There was a RID children's book called "Drift's Samurai Showdown" that went into Drift's background as a former Decepticon, so let's see if this episode will line up with or contradict that.

No but I only watched it once prior and that's when it came out and I'm forgetful so I only remember things that leave an impact on me.
But I'm sure I watched all of the RID shorts so far.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.

Got it. Just wanted to make sure you got to see the 6-part Cyclone shorts.Deadput wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Out of curiosity, is this your first viewing of this short?Deadput wrote:Ahhh

Thanks for posting the vid it reminded me that my sister who I watch Rid with has not seen the shorts so that gives me something to put on while we wait for new season 3 episodes.

So it's confirmed that Bludgeon will not appear in the show at all.

Which honestly sucks because Bludgeon was the one G1 reference I was excited for since he has never been in a show.
So why did they make a toy for him then in the first place instead of making figures of characters in the show.
