Fair enough. In that case I guess they just didn't make the most of their time then.

I just wasn't pleased with the way the series ended, and I thought that more time could have aided them. I felt the Predacon/Beast Hunters focus really limited the possibilities of season 3, as well as changed the focus and pushed some plot lines to the back burner.
I also thought there were a lot of loose threads left over, even after the movie (Soundwave, Airachnid, Shockwave, Megatron, Predaking and the Predacons etc.). If these are addressed down the road in RID then I will stand corrected.

Yeah, to be fair, Hasbro did drop the whole Beast Hunters thing on the showrunners at the eleventh hour, forcing them to put season 2 on fast forward in order to hastily wrap up their three-to-four years' worth of story material in one season, just to make room for the new Beast Hunters ordeal in season 3, which, while still entertaining, did feel more like a distraction from the main plot and only put in to satisfy the toymakers and, once it was done, was put aside to let the original plot get back on course to complete itself properly.Shuttershock wrote:Sabrblade wrote:How so?Shuttershock wrote:Sabrblade wrote:65 episodes was always the plan from the get-go. Preds Rising, however, came from a desire to do more once they they were done, as a last hurrah of sorts.

Dunno about Wolfy, though. He's fallen into that generic build RiD's already gotten.
Actual animation is kinda choppy...
I just noticed that wolf bot has shockwave's body

The Prime Vehicons had them too, but theirs were gray.

Now that you mention it, some elements of season 2 did seem rushed. I would have liked a longer conflict for Dreadwing, or to keep Hardshell as a nemesis for Bulkhead and become the Decepticons' heavy hitter.
Well, I can respect that they tried to fix some of the problems caused by editorial mandate. Still, they did leave a lot in the wings, which made Prime as a whole feel incomplete.
I'd like it if RID continues on with some of these loose threads. But what I've seen seems more like a soft reboot with a different focus and tone. I guess only time will tell.

This has potential!
I do hope we see some more traditional Decepticons though - I'm OK with the occasional beast, but a pack of wild animals is not how I like to imagine the Decepticon ranks.

I agree about the Cons. While beast bots are cool, they often seem less impressive engineering wise. With several exceptions, a lot of them just stand up and swap heads (Prime Preds).
It just hit me, both shows called Robots in Disguise appear to have Autobots facing down against beast-cons.

If they add some in here it would set them up for figures latter on. I really would like to see an updated Predaking and Abominus. I know we have the Prime super mini Abominus, but I'm not even going to count it in this post, because combined he is smaller than Prime Soundwave.
The abundance of sea-based Cons was making me hopeful for a Seacon/Piranhacon homage.
