This is a real weird one, but I would love to see a whole line of DotM Wreckers. Just give me armored Nascars, and keep giving them to me. Let's make a whole 40 car field out of this!

Thirded, the DOTM Wreckers were really cool designs and I'd like to see more of that particular look.

In fact, that goes quite nicely with an idea I had for a line (with accompanying Trigger-produced anime)- "Velocitron Wars". Simply put, instead of the Great War, we have the Great Race. As such, everyone has some kind of cool alien racing car alt mode. Optimus Prime as a big rocket-powered racing rig, Megatron (with many titles, including "Grid Gladiator of Kaon" and "Track Tyrant") as some monstrous reimagination of his Cybertron "Death Dragster" mode, the return of Carscream etc. Also they'd be packaged in alt mode, just because I miss that and it'd be thematic.

So TLDR: Transformers meets Redline.

So basically Transformers GT with alien aesthetics and Trigger-esque over-the-top action? I could dig it.

And yeah, I'd like for the movie Wreckers to be expanded a bit, if only for the team to feel as epic as in the comics. The car ads might be an issue, as we saw with Leadfoot, but if they were covered by the weapons I think they could've pulled it off.

Also, this might be a bit obscure, but does anyone remember the Reapers? Because I'd like to see toys of them, or at least of Deathbringer.

So... I've been watching the series Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos recently. Basically in short, this was an anime based on the Machine Robo Toyline in the mid 80's (and was the same toyline Tonka imported from Bandai to make Go-Bots and Rock Lords).

This is such a fun series, but more on that later. I understand that while Hasbro (through acquiring Tonka years ago) has the rights to the Go-Bots as characters, they cannot release any toys that bear a strong resemblance to the originals because of copyright law.

However, I was wondering if they could create a similar idea, but make it different enough so as to not have any legal issues.

I was just wondering, what kind of effort it would take for TT/Hasbro to update the idea. basically create four different mech type suits that could accommodate "most" deluxe Generations Transformers. (back in the day Go-Bots actually had a whole graph on the box that showed which toys would fit in each suit. I think just saying "most" would be sufficient today, because there will always be exceptions). And then some sort of command module/ship that would form the head/body of the giant robot.

I have the white GoBots power suit combiner and it's an amazing concept.

However, modernizing the concept to let's say, WFC trilogy deluxes would require at least a voyager price-point suit. That suit should also be able to transform into some sort of vehicle, be a "bot", and be able to become a limb. Best would be 2 models. The leg one and the arm one, both with integrated hands and feet.

As for the body, the thing would be Commander class to really work It would be some epic armor able to transform into a ship, a "bot", and the main torso of the combiner.

Finally for maximum compatibility and to make the concept very unique, most of the bot would NOT be covered by the suit. A bit like the Loader in Aliens.

Hey, I suggested him a while back on my first post to this topic! Good to know I'm not the only one!

That final form, though...I'll admit, I know very little of Japanese-exclusive Transformers, but that clearly seems some sort of ascended energy state, and I don't see them pulling a toy version of that. Maye as a third-party license, or an R.E.D. at best.

Honestly, the original Power Suits don't seem to cover that much anyways: mostly the back the head and/or chest and the legs. And of those, the former two are the most problematic, what with the usual wings (actual wings or car door/kibble wing) and occasional protuding chest kibble or weaponry like Warpath's cannon.

Still, if they could pull it off, I'd be behind that. We need more combiner variety. Now all that'd be missing would be some animal-mode combiners outside of the usual humanoids and the already tried weapon and vehicle combiners.

On another note, I'd like to see a Transformer with an aesthetic based on soft robotics instead of the usual mechanical look. It'd be an interesting and unusual take, allow for some really alien designs (particularly for invertebrate altmodes like Claw Jaw, Escargon and the cancelled Japanese-exclusive BW jellyfish), and also reinforce the "living machine" aspect even more.

...but it'd also be a pain to model for solid plastic, so I guess that idea's out

I'd posit that Weaponizers cover most of this. A variety of pieces which can be attached to the core figures in a number of different ways depending on the requirements of the figure. Just... attaching kibble all over wherever feasible. It might not add up to a standalone exosuit, but it partially makes up for that with the flexibility of where different kibble pieces can be attached - a foot for one figure might be a pauldron, hip armor, or a rocket booster for another.

The goal would be to COMPLETELY avoid partsforming. Also, the suis should create a combined robot that would also requires no extra parts in order to combine.

The complete combiner without the bots riding the suits could looks a bit like that old TF Prime Cyberverse Optimus thing:

Indeed. Imagine Monstructor with this ethos. The regular bots create a Gestalt. Their Shells also create a Gestalt. Said shells can also be integrated onto the default Gestalt creating a "Master-Form".

I wonder how many times Majin Zarak has been brought up in this thread. He'd be awesome, buuut..

Every Decepticon Leader that isn't Megatron or Galvatron all have the same problem when it comes to new figures. A lack of media presence and/or HasTak interest.

And that's relevant how...? Majin Zarak isn't a leader. Majin Zarak is a movie-exclusive monster from Beast Wars II.




I'd say that anime movie-exclusive nature combined with the freaky design and the fact that he'd require a big toy to not come off as lame are much more important factors.

I could be mistaken, but I think AllNewSuperRobot's comment wasn't connected to yours.

As for Majin Zarak, the reason why he's mentioned here often is because he is freaking awesome! (my opinion) vs yours that he is "lame". I mean IMHO, other than the easy repaint of T30 Metroplex to Metrotitan, or a NEW Nemesis Decepticon Titan, Majin Zarak is really the only other bot' I can think of in TF fiction worthy of a Titan Class figure.

I mean we know a Cybertron Metrpoplex in Legacy is coming, and to me that is "Lame" (the first ever Titan I wont be purchasing). But again, that's why we are discussing it here. Majin Zarak would be amazing, but I don't expect it to ever be a reality.

It'll never happen in a billion years but I'd love to see figures of non-sapient/non-anthropomorphic "cyberfauna"- so basically Cybertronian wildlife. I like the idea that Cybertronian lifeforms have transformation baked into their very DNA, so even the most primitive animal would have two "modes" of some form. It'd be way too obscure a concept to sell as a toyline, as the crossover between adult TF collectors and fans of speculative biology is probably rather small, but I like the concept enough to wish it existed.
