Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

As a craft beer aficionado, I’m intrigued by this.
"sampled"? Yeah, I "sample" by the pint tooBurn wrote:Next time you open Instagram Cary, look up "jabba drinks beers". It's my fiance's cousin and all she does is post pictures of the craft beers she's "sampled".

Both are good if not better than average but the PB stout is interesting. It's just a waff of PB at the end. I'm a big fan of Gnarley Barly Brewing, they make an outstanding IPA called Juicifer.
Craft beers have just blown up lately and I've been making the crawl. So have the sour beers shown up in your area yet?

I had my first sour weiss at a brewery in Natchez, MS - it was blackberry or something. I felt that they'd be the next IPA and now I'm seeing them everywhere. They are quite good on a very hot summer day.Nemesis Maximo wrote:carytheone wrote:Nemesis Maximo wrote:carytheone wrote:Oh and I had a couple local dark stouts. Sours have made their way here, but they haven’t exploded. Several other beer beer aficionados I know have said that their gonna be bigger than IPAs, but I don’t really see that happening, at least not here in Michigan. A lot of people lose their minds for IPAs here, I’m sure you’ve heard of Bell’s Two Hearted Ale.
Personally I prefer Stouts and Porters; Atwater Brewing in Detroit has their Raspberry Vanilla Java Porter which is on of my favorites.
That Flying Tiger, can you find that outside of Louisiana? I’ll be visiting my brother in the Florida Panhandle in May and I’ll try to find it if I can.

Cary, you know who else was a vegetarian? Hitler.
Tofu is one of those things that is hard to make taste. It's even harder to make it taste good. We've gotten pretty good at it. About 4 years ago we were almost fully vegetarian and getting close to vegan and I had lost around 80 pounds (a lot of which was muscle). Life changes and I'm back up about 40 (a lot of which isn't muscle). Did you know there's a sandwich in every beer?Rodimus Prime wrote:That escalated quickly...Nemesis Maximo wrote:Burn wrote:carytheone wrote:vegan

As for tofu, an ex-gf made me try it once. Once. When we met, she was a vegan. She thought she was going to make me one too. 6 months later, she was slamming bacon cheeseburgers with me.
Ironhidensh, to each his own, but I've seen someone eat a medium rare steak in front of me, and I couldn't see myself doing that. I like my cow good and dead. Not crispy, but browner than rare.

I fancy myself a whisky drinker and it's definitely on that spectrum of flavor. It's nothing like a coffee/chocolate stout, it's real clean. It's also not like traditional stouts like Guinness. Sweet on the nose like molasses, carmelly in the mouth with hints of vanilla. Leaves the tongue feeling dry. At 11% ABV, it's a sipper. I like it, but wouldn't want it all the time. Worthy of a pick up if you like high alcohol dark beers.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:carytheone wrote:

That is an interesting name and I love it. I've never heard of that either
