They looked like technorganic vehicles to me, which is an awesome concept for an alien race.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:It almost seems that the design team had run out of [interesting] ideas for Beast Bots by the time of BM. Most of them are just really poor iterations of previous figures IE Cybershark to Hammerstrike, Terrorsaur to Skydive etc
In contrast, the Vehicons show where their heads were creatively. Also mirrored by the design concepts for Transtech, that don't really feature any Beasts/organics at all. Which would have been a weird plot hole to overcome, in light of how Beast Machines ended.

IMHO, with the Beast Wars II and Neo series being set after Beast Machines, the Cybertronian forms of the Lio Convoy Unit and Galvatron Unit seen in the first two episodes of BWII look weird and alien enough to pass for Technorganic bodies that the Galvatron Unit all could have originally had Technorganic vehicle altmodes before they scanned their Earthen vehicle altmodes on Gaia, which to me is a cool notion to think about.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Sabrblade wrote:They looked like technorganic vehicles to me, which is an awesome concept for an alien race.
Indeed.
To me, they have True Cybertronian designs. Not remotely Earth-like in any way, the whole "Alien Robots" part of Transformers, fully realised. Atypical limbs, heads etc
