If we still aren't doing Beast Era yet, then my vote would be for animated Prowl with the samurai armor sidecar. An updated motorcycle with a more CHUG-ish version would be sweet.
Who says Cybertron Optimus can't hold his matrix with two hands?

Mostly the wings. As I said, the transformation is intuitive, but I just couldn't be convinced that his big chunky wings would be useful for flight. That's not to say I think Cruellock is flawless or anything, his hands are a bit lazy (but apparently not lazy enough for Hasbro to copy them for PotP Rippersnapper) and I wish they could have come up with something better to do with his leftover tail parts in bot mode, but overall I just find him to be the better figure.
For me both of Airrazor's figures have better bird modes.

An Evolution Leader Mammoth Optimus would be amazing. As a hommage to the original, you could have a mammoth and a small Optimus side by side!

What about the liftfans in those big chunky wings? Would you believe those are useful for flight?

Always preferrwd Divebomb, only because Cruellock was too simple. That Beast node IS cool, but transforming didnt yiedl anyrhi f remarkably different. Besides that glorious meat cleaver.

I believe the energon terrorcons as a whole would be awesome to see an update, maybe as deluxes this time round to allow for a better transformation scheme.

Useful, yes. Aerodynamic, no.

I guess they probably could remake all of the Terrorcons by modifying existing moldes.
Cruellock -> Rippersnapper
Divebomb -> Cutthroat
Battle Ravage -> Sinnertwin
Insecticon -> ??? (maybe a car?)
Scorponok is technically a Terrorcon as well and would make a great torso!

Ok, so no Beast Wars for this list (although BW is G1
) got it!
1. Tripredacus - Hear me out, let's make Tripredacus - The Gestalt - part of G1. The answer lies in the land of Retool.
Ram Horn > Barrage
Cicadacon > Venom
Sea Clamp > Chop Shop
Yes, through some (extensive for Chop Shop) retooling, bring back to Deluxe Insecticons as Tripredacus. Yet before you notice the omission, we redeco Transmetal 2 Scourge into Ransack and we have the complete set reborn!
2. Gigatron (Car Robots) - The single best toy in that line by a mile and perhaps one of the best designed multi-formers I can think of IE Not a brick in any way. He needs a new single purpose figure that has all Ten forms.
3. Ultra Magnus (Energon) - Big, blocky and wonderful. I know he was a repaint of blah, blah, blah... that's why (as one of only a handful of "good" characters I actually like) he deserves a new toy to call his own.
4. Cyclonus Armada - Speaking of copy characters that need their moment to shine. Give Armada his own paint scheme and new bio and the sky is the limit for his potential.
5. Runabout/Runamuck - Non-combiner Decepticon cars are a rarity in themselves. It's criminal how much of an after thought these two are, given their somewhat unique standing among their contemporaries. That oversight should be redressed.

Um, you do realize that in the last 3 generations lines (CW, TR, PotP) there has been a grand total of 1 Bumblebee and 1 Windblade, right? Plenty of Optimuses (Optimi?) to go around, no doubt, but that is inevitable.

Technically we got 3 Windblades in Prime Wars.
Combiner Hunter Windblade (CW)

Titan Force Windblade (TR)

And standard TR Windblade

Add in the 3 Windblades from RID (two Deluxe and a Legend) and at least one in the upcoming Cyberverse line and I can see why some people would say she's getting too many figures.

I won't count "botcon" exclusives. But yeah, Windblade is shilled a bit too much. How about giving some other fembots the spotlight? Like Cybertron's Thunderblast with an updated and improved mold?

Those first two were from SDCC which were far easier to get a hold of than just about anything ever to come out of BotCon.

You knew what I meant. Premium exclusive repaints are still premium exclusive repaints. They never got sold at Walmart and the like so they don't count. At all. As for store exclusives, they are borderline.

I really don't see much difference between a store exclusive and a convention exclusive that's also sold online and across parts of Asia. Official Hasbro products made for a specific main line should count as part of that line. That's different from the BotCon method which usually created their own lines or made figures that could easily supplement Hasbro lines without necessarily being part of them.

However, only the knowledgable collector buy online. The average joe, mom and dad, only go to the store and take what's on the shelf. Plus not everyone have easy access to online buying, mainly because of shipping and customs.

Technically speaking, those two have Generations-styled figures via Adventure: CW Blackjack was originally meant as either and sculpted as such. Adventure took advantage of that:

Interesting. Thanks. Well if they have Technically received an update, I will lean my fifth selection towards my joint honourable mentions:
5. Piranacon/Raiden - The two Gestalts that get the least possible amount of respect in Transformers.
The Seacons are my favourite G1 Combiner Team, that are barely even thought of, or acknowledged.
Whereas most fans outside of Japan and the Hardcore, probably wouldn't even know who Raiden is...

I, personally, wouldn't count these. Generations-styled is true. But TAV is not Generations. Generations-styled is a pretty fluid term, and open to interpretation. My go-to example would be Nitro Zeus. He's technically a movie-toy, but the design is tame enough that it could fit in Generations, and even features a gimmick introduced in a Generations line.
ROTF Bludgeon (and his several repaints/retools) is another good example of this. A lot of people put him with the Generations toys (I did for a time, too) but he is not TECHNICALLY a Generations toy.

That's why I always keep the original head on my ROTF Bludgeon. That face fit the rest of the body who is way too much "bayformery". The upgrade kit head is just out of place and make the whole thing goofy looking.
However, Nitro Zeus have a pretty "neutral" body that could easily be inserted into Generations. With a classic head and that's it! That's why Zeus turned Thunderwing work so well. I'm pretty proud of mine.

They, and all con/club-exclusives fall in that 'open to interpretation' area. Because of OCD, I had to make a rule where club-exclusives could go in my CHUG collection if they were based on a mold that came out IN CHUG. Con exclusives would be separate because I can never go to cons, and it's even more expensive to buy them second-hand.
So I DID have them in my CHUG shelf.
That changed, though, for Prime Wars. I kinda saw Prime Wars as a mini-reboot in CHUG (since we almost got the entire G1 on-screen roster in Prime Wars). So. My old CHUG stuff is safely packed away right now (including Runamuck (and the Over-run that I never got would be too...

I also don't mix and match Has/Tak. I know that the Takara stuff is objectively good, most of the time, but for sanity-sake, I've been Hasbro-only.

Beast Wars is part of the G1 timeline, yes, so multiverse would include characters outside that. But baiscally, we try to divide it up between all the eras of new characters. So you have G1 in the 80s, Beast Wars in the 90s, and the rest (like UT trilogy, RID, Prime) in the new century. The more in time you go, the less and less there are of original characters since it keeps being more and more based on G1 and characters are retroactively placed within G1 (like Windblade).

Hey DecepticonFinishline, I told you things could get finicky

Also Emerje, the ones you showed are not more part of the Generations line than the TAV figures are. They are all molds that originated in CHUG but were used in other lines (be it TAV or Timelines).

Not Really. Timelines tends to be a catchall for multiple lines and these two characters were definitely the G1 versions while the TAV figures were characters unique to the Adventure (and Aligned by extension) universe no matter how they look and what they're named. TAV Runabout and Runamuck look like the G1 versions, but they aren't the same characters. Same goes for any other TAV figures like Powerglide, the Insecticons, and Adams/Cosmos. Basically if it had the RID/TAV scan symbol then it's not the G1 character. Would you call TAV Slug and Swoop Animated figures just because they use Animated molds?
If you really want a truly confusing figure then look at Fracture, a GoBot in a movie line using a CHUG mold.

If you really want a truly confusing figure then look at Fracture, a GoBot in a movie line using a CHUG mold.![]()

The point was the originator line for the molds used for them, not what series or continuity the characters in question are in. If one so choses, the ones made from "Generations" molds can be repurposed as G1. That's why I said "technically" earlier.

Does it matter where the mold came from in a list about characters? They may use (modified) CHUG molds, but the characters aren't G1, the Timelines figures characters are. This is why I say the Timelines figures are more G1 than the TAV figures.
