As the title says...list your top 5 racing games (or series). This can stretch back as far as you want too.
1.) Burnout Series (X Box, X Box 360)
2.) Testdrive Unlimited (X box 360)
3.) Forza Motorsport (X Box)
4.) San Fransisco Rush (N64)
5.) RalliSport Challenge 2 (X Box)
The Burnout Series is just a sweet unrealistic fast pace genre. I love tearing up the streets but the series really only good at #3. There is just so much driving destruction and fast pass that it got my #1.
Testdrive Unlimited is just a totally new game and idea. One thing I likes about GTA SA is that you had a huge map to drive on. Testdrive Unlimited has the entire big Island of Hawaii mapped out, you can drive on everystreet and every highway. There are like 70+ cars you can buy and just so many other features. You can buy houses to store your cars in, race, deliver packages (time based), deliver people (time based) do speed challenges and deliver cars without a scratch while having to go 15+ miles in traffic. IGN said the game isnt fun unless your on Live, I havent had been on Live with this game and it has kept me entertained for about a month and a half.
Forza Motorsport was Microsofts answer to Gran Turismo. The playing style is very realistic and has all the perks of Gt...only there are cars you actually want to drive. One thing I really loved about this game was the total freedom to design the paint scheme for your car. From decals to tribal designs you can put it all on your car. I had a lot of fun with this game.
San Fransisco Rush is just one of those old school classic games. You could do so much in it and do all kinds of crazy stunts. Another thing I loved about the game was all of the secrets you could find. The body damage was also something new for its time.
Finally I come down to RalliSport Challenge 2 which IMO is the best Ralli game out there. It is just so realistic and has the 3 different types of Ralli. You can race on pavement, off road or on snow. And you have a real life co pilot guy telling you how the turn is coming if its left or right, if its medium to hard. It's just a fun Ralli game to get into.
