1. Not every universe's new version of a character needs to stick to the GEEWUN color scheme. Get over it.
2. Jetfire has a Valkyrie-esque head.
3. Wing Saber sharing colors with G1 Jetfire is more of a coincidence; his color scheme is based on Sonic Bomber from Zone (he's even called Sonic Bomber in Galaxy Force)
4. That's just green, not camo.
5. Jetfire lives up to the role of "Autobot aerial powerhouse and taxi"

ROTF Jetfire is as much Jetfire as ROTF Optimus Prime is Optimus Prime. It's just an interpretation of the character. They even kept the idea that he wasn't originally an autobot. That's more G1 homage than anyone else got in the movies.

This is why I was going "Wat." at Kanrabat, the arbitrarily declaring those incarnations J.I.N.O.

Also, Ironhide got G1 homage too He's always itching to go kick some aft, he's one of the Autobots' heavy gunners, and he dies in a way meant to sucker-punch the audience.

But hey, new universes' unique versions of characters should have their own characterization traits (be they major or minor) to help make them stand out. And in ROTF Jetfire's case his crotchety old man personality made me very fond of him.

Speaking of own universe and characterisation, I love the fact that in Animated, Optimus Prime was basically ORION PAX. He kept the name Optimus for obvious marketing purpose, obviously. But unlike G1, instead of "Pokemon evolving" from Orion Pax to Optimus Prime, "Orion Pax" gradually grew and matured into Optimus Prime.

Would have liked to have seen Generations Jetfire at least get an honourable mention, with it's melding of Skyfire and Jetfire

T30 Jetfire is still my 2nd favorite Jetfire toy besides the Armada one. I really love the toy. did not get the Siege one though, no interest in that appearance

I got him from TFsource my senior year of college, I love the dark blue.

Unless Select Star Convoy can pull off a decent Micromasters base, that's a wish that still need to be fulfilled.

As for Apeface, it was granted!... But it make the Snapdragon wish even stronger.

Generations Jetfire like Thrilling 30 Jetfire or Classics Jetfire?

Classics is a classic I love that thing, it was a mind blower. Upped the Classics awesomeness to a whole new level at the time.

Thrilling 30 had some faults in the construction but advanced the line towards a Hasbro/Sunbow/Marvel Jetfire being the staple with notes to the original toy.

Siege continues that evolution and I would say sets the new standard I don’t know how you could do it better. I mean I’m sure five years from now we’ll be saying my god THIS is the most amazing Jetfire! But till then, Siege is the king.

Definitely. For me, Siege Jetfire is like a budget Masterpiece.
Still, it dosent diminish the greatness of Classic and T30 Jetfires. Also, the original G1 was so incredible and well made, it doesn't feel outdated even today.

The only reason for me to get a T30 Leader TC is if I can find it sealed to keep him sealed. It's my quirk for TC because I open all the Starscreams.

As for Jetfire toys it's true that most of them are excellent and none of them are genuinely bad... appart the Titanium.

I would argue that Apeface got his great update. Star Convoy is OK, not perfect, but still a pretty decent update

I am glad you brought this back up in conversation. Currently working on a top 5 Jetfire list and while I like the Generations Jetfire A LOT, he kind of feels obsolete now. Unlike other Jetfires (G1, Siege, Studio Series, Cybertron), he doesn't really offer anything new or different. I mean getting a discount Macross toy is really cool, but as the years pass, he feels more like a footnote in the character's history rather than one of the defining moments. What do you think?

I think that you're extremely right, I'm just biased because I prefer Valkyrie Jetfire to GEEWUN Skyfire. Plus, I sent you a draft of what I think a Top 5 Jetfire list would look like.
