The font on the grapics seems a bit silly to me. From what you can see through the windsheild he looks like he could have a bit more black on him than Takara's version, I'm pretty excited to see him transformed and decide if I like him more than the other. Chances are I'll pick him up even if I like him less simply because the Henkei is prohibitively expensive and me Inferno needs a friend.

The lack of a red head makes me think even more that Hasbro and Takara have a deal to keep decos somewhat exclucive to each country in regards to these figures.

I think it's more of an implicit understanding

It seems a bit methodical for a mere "understanding".

Not really when you take a step back and look at it from the numbers.
Companies want to make money; no surprise there. They do it by offering a product that is hopefully unique to any other product out there. As this thread is about Red Alert, we'll use him as an example. Takara made Red Alert about a year or so ago, they put the effort into remolding him and selling him to fans that felt that he would be a good character. Fans bought it, and bought ALL of it, ebay prices for the figure show how popular and desirable it is.
Now Hasbro COULD have gone the same way, however by doing so they guarentee that the people who have already gotten Henkei Red Alert will not get Generations Red Alert. In this case they're making the figure different enough so that it appeals to two camps, the people who don't have a Red Alert and will get this one, and the people who already have a Henkei Red Alert and will get this guy too (Like me).
Generations Thrust is another one of these examples.

If they wanted to maximize profits like that, each and every figure would have different decos. But this phenomenon of vastly different decos for common figures is pretty contained.
The fact that it's so limited in scope makes me think there's some sort of contract in place.

So ... do I want three of the same toy? Or shall I just buy soemthing else? Decisions, decisions ...
WHy 3 do u mean you have 2 of henkei, or there are gonna be 3 variations in total?
I bought Universe Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. They're the same toy in different colors.
For me, toy buys boil down to that. Do I spend $14 on a toy I already have? Or do I take that money and buy a toy I don't have?
Then again, it might be fun to have an Autobot "Seeker" squadron.
I have Sideswipe and that is plenty for me. Actually, it has become one of the molds I am pretty indifferent about.
I already have a "seeker" squadron with all the Z-Brothers I have bought. I have absolutely no desire to buy repaints anymore with any line ever again.

About what I expected from Hasbro, but I will very much settle for it.

The casts used for the parts on this mold must be hot 24/7, this mold's being used for the TFCC, Botcon and Generations. Crazy!

I wonder how the mold is holding up. I always disliked this mold for the amount of massaging required to force it into car mode (nowhere near as bad as the ROTF Twins though) so mold overusage can't help.

Well this mold has got nothing on the Classics seeker, but I don't recall so many uses of a mold within a small time period. It will be nice to see each variation of the mold lined up together by the time these are all released..
