That being said, if they are branching out the movie design look into their Classics, it needs to stop now.
Faction symbols should have their proper colorings and these open hand designs have got to go. I don't mind the look of the open hands so much, but the functionality is pretty poor.

I think me and you would make some pretty good beer buddies XD.
Although Depth Charge should really be reserved for the next Transformers Submarine...

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.

But is he Universe? His box is the same style as the new movie Bumblebee and the Ratchet they show is clearly the movie's voyager Ratchet. However, the TF writing, Autobot symbol, and his general aesthetic is clearly not.
Hasbro is moving toward uniting lines to economize in packaging. This allows characters that fit closer to the Classic/Universe lines even after the line has ended. That said, these new pictures cleared any doubts, including the gold-instead-of-yellow issue. Love the clear visor, the flipping flippers, and the alt mode w/carrier capabilities. Thank you Hasbro!

This.
I made the exception with Bludgeon because he's so unique, but I'm not going to dilute my Classics/Henkei collection with other G1-inspired movie figures. The boxes may not say ROTF any more, but the designs still do.
