Curious to see if he transformed FOC Bruticus correctly in his initial review of it, I went back and watched it. (Or, at least, watched it from about where he started putting together the gestalt.)
Sure enough, he did put it together correctly! But then I kept watching a bit, and he started talking about, to paraphrase, "I don't care so much for the proportions on this guy, so here's a bit of an alternate transformation I do to make things look better to me." And sure enough, he proceeds to mis-transforrm it into the configuration shown in the comparison video Rated X is complaining about.
I suppose one could give Peaugh the benefit of the doubt, and think that maybe he just became so used to transforming it that way that he forgot that wasn't how it was supposed to be done. Mind you, if this is the truth of things, it still makes it a supremely poopy comparison video. If you are comparing how two different third party upgrades look on a figure, you should make sure you are presenting them both in the configuration they are intended to be in! But, at least, it saves Peaugh from being accused of being a sell-out.
... ... ...
Unless he did sell out, and it was an intentional mistake. In which case, boo! But... who knows?

I think this is closer to the truth. He probably just grabbed the Boosticus set off a shelf or something. He probably forgot he mistransformed it.
Hey, X? Why not do some actual good and inform him that he mistransformed the set in the vid description? Instead of, you know, just hurling accusations. I mean ... trying to sell more? There isn't even a link to BBTS in the description. You're just focused on shitting on him. You know, as a person.

Don't know why the obsession is so strong with peaugh that he needs to be talked about in all the threads in the 3rd party section here.

So now I gotta reach out to people that I blatantly don't trust to prove my own integrity ?
I think you are asking a bit too much. Isn't peaugh supposed to be the expert ? They (TF Source) are supposed to be the professionals. I'm just a guy with a hunch. Since when is it the consumers job to correct the corporation on their own merchandise ?
You wanted more examples and I found you one. I don't have the time to watch outdated videos. Ill point out any anomalies on new videos as they appear.
I know that particular video doesn't have a sponsor link, but his original Microblaze review did. We know he is repping TF Source, there's no hiding that.

I wrote this whole reply that was lost. Meh.
I wanted you to find me examples where he purposefully makes a toy look bad. But you've gone a fair bit beyond that now. You've gone from attacking the review to attacking the person. Had you stopped at the mistransformation you may have had a point. But your assumption about his motives have crossed a line. Because, I guess you didn't notice that he didn't add a link to buy at TF Source or a blurb in front of his videos.
Because that didn't factor into your assumptions it's now your credibility and your integrity that takes a hit. With me. On this. Just calling them corporate makes me convinced this is more about you and your total distrust regarding any and all corporations big and small. As if the people who work for anything are suddenly not people at all.
So, while you may very well prove Preaugh isn't infallible, you've convinced me your own personal bias clouds your judgement on the matter to the extent that you just can't see past your nose.

Well the way I see it, this video is a "part 2" to Peaugh's Microblaze review already tagged with a TF Source plug. He gave a false impression of the cheaper add on kit in favor of the more expensive one, plain and simple. I'm not sure how you consider this to be a "personal" attack on Peaugh. It could have been Bill Cosby who made the review for all I care. At the end of the day I caught him with his pants down and he has a sponsor named TF Source.
I have nothing "personal" against any one sponsored reviewer. I hate their deceitfulness equally. One by one, I will expose what I believe is conflict of interest and blatant sugarcoating to garner sales.

I will continue to run the Gauntlet. (no pun intended)

When both parties are convinced there's no point in continuing. You can "run the gauntlet" with someone else.

I know you two have had your differences but you have to admit X has a point when it comes to Peaugh.

Not really, no. Especially with the last vid. That just hit the last nail in the coffin for me, in regards to X's argument.
So, no. All X has done is solidify my opinion that you really, really have to twist videos around to demonstrate a bias. And that his bias is overwhelming. I mean, geez. There wasn't even any advertisement there. Not a link, not a banner before the ad, nothing. And that's supposed to be the smoking gun of conflict-of-interest reviews? This big deal that shows Preaugh is interested in selling things for stores? Seriously?
All X has proven is that he's overenthusiastic. If that was the point, then I'd be forced to agree. But that wasn't the point. X's point was just dragging his name through the mud in any way possible. Just ... wow. I'll listen to X's opinion on other matters another time, but for now I'm not interested.
Gauntlet101010 wrote:Well, I'll argue with you over it, LL.
First off the Boosticus comparison has no ads. So if you think he didn't actually forget to transform that back, then that's balanced about by the lack of ads.
http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transform ... e-785.html
So Peaugh got a loose final version before it was released. As in - no instructions. Now we've already established the feet are difficult to transform. It seems likely that it came that way and he didn't try to force it - which would cause a break.

OK, it came without instructions so yeah difficult to transform, I get that but you would think as one of the top reviewers out there he would have taken the time to nail down the transformation before posting on youtube ready to be seen by millions, and if he had a hard time transforming the feet and didn't want to break the figure that's fine but at least mention it as part of the review, or say "I'm not quite sure how to transform this part as I have no Instructions" but nothing is said about the feet apart from mentioning the flaps. Truth is Peaugh doesn't like to mention problems with figures, Kronos' feet issue is well documented throughout these boards and on TFW2005 every other reviewer on youtube shows them to be flimsy and prone to breakage, whereas Peaugh fails to even comment on them, same again with Springers gappy cockpit, well documented on forum boards and his version clearly has the fault yet he makes a vague reference about it being "OK". Let me put it this way, would you trust a film reviewer if every film they reviewed recived consistently favourable reviews regardless of whether the film was any good or not?
