jimsloth wrote:agreed. Amazing work so far. No Sword though please. Maybe a big club. Mace. Battle Axe. Something blunt. When I think of UM I think (like said above) either range weapons or brute force. Swords are much more swift, delicate weapons. Just doesn't suit him IMHO.
Glad it's not just me.
Actually, I've just had a thought. Seeing as he's largely associated with law enforcement (especially nowadays), how about a nightstick sort of affair? Or (taking a tip from Games Workshop's Adeptus Arbites) a power maul? Kind of a small club that delivers a neural shock when it strikes. Not overly powerful (he's strong enough to do plenty of damage unarmed), but really handy for making tough subjects a little more tractable.

if size is an issue, how about a telescoping nightstick. I don't know their real name, my friends and I always called them Canadian Beating Sticks, but they are real, and you could make one out of metal telescoping tubing (metal because then it could be thinner guage allowing for more telescoping in a smaller area).
*edit*
here's a picture

Definitely. They look good as they are, but a little (just a little) extra bulk would make them so much better.

Damn that came out great. The colors are perfect choices (I prefer a very-slightly darker blue to the toy). And the opening chest....FABULOUS! I love its functionality.
I wish I could take kitbashing this far...

Your work is so good it surprises me you are not more "famous". Do you post to other TF sites as much as here?

Gorgeous. I agree that these colours definitely seem to suit him better, and the light-up eyes are a great touch, too.

so obviously this guy is amazing. So much better than I could do. That being said, I'm going to pick out one thing to knit pick. Just a personal preference thing. The shape of the eyes. While I wouldn't say anything about them in the first two pics, when lit up you really see the full shape of them. They are WIDE open (vertically). A little silver upper eyelid could add a lot and give him a much different emotion than the "I just came from the eye doctors and these damn drops are making me really dilated" look.
(another disclaimer, the way they are now does look very much like the G1 toy, I just think they could look more life-like)
till all are one.

Aside from the lack of space for cars in the car carrier mode, he a big improvement over you already amazing Ultra Magnus armor.

It doesn't look like any sacrifices were made to me. I've said it before - it looks perfect in my opinion. I love the lit up details in the gun and chest. Just awesome all round!

you didn't need to sacrifice anything though. All it needs is the front struts lengthened an inch and you'll have plenty of clearance. If you don't want the arms to end up further back in robot mode, you also raise the hinges up from the deck a half inch and lengthen the struts a half inch.
mine mine mine.. me me me ....
no one cares tramp... not when you act like this.. just give the guy credit and stop **** bashing everyones work , just because its not like YOURS........... we are all not like you......
