The music grabs you, it does. It starts a great mood for the trailer. Bee's transformation is cool, as is Starscreams. I really like the designs, more so than most movie designs. It is a nice blend of what it was in the 80's and what it can be on screen.
Iron Giant is a personal favorite, so I totally love the feel this movie has, relating to Iron Giant.
I did really like the voice over at the beginning too.
You know what would be cool? At the end of the movie, Bee leaves the girl for her safety and to pursue the allspark/his mission. And then we get a mid or end credits scene set after TLK where he meets her again as an older woman and the 2 rejoin at last.

At least this franchise's unstoppable retconning has given us a VW BB and a Starscream that actually looks like Starscream, instead of some bowlegged, robotic Ugnaught (Star Wars reference. Google it.)
I might set aside my revulsion for the Bayverse toys and pick up those two, but I don't see myself dropping any coin on the movie itself. They've swirled too far down the toilet to bother with anymore.
well in fairness we dont know what happend to him before he ended up with that young wan.

Wait, what? We hear Bobby B.’s voice, Bee’s design is a variation of his existing movie design, his transformation noise is his unique one from the previous movies, and we see Sector 7. How isn’t this connected to that timeline?

We've slided!
So, what I was kind of trying to do with this film because it's set in the 80s, was harken back to the great, original, G1 vibe and feeling and tone. So, there are definitely Easter eggs for fans who are down with that sort of thing. There's a lot of continuity between this and the film's that Michael has done. But the film does stand on its own.
