Gotta backpedal on screamer a step or two. While I still feel like there coulda been better choices for a combiner limb than a random SG guy, this is a GORGEOUS Deco and I love it. Gotta repurpose him somehow.

So...you would need 2 custom Botcon Ratchets to complete that nonsense...no thank you.
SG SS will do fine replacing Bluestreak as part of Wreckage. No lonely limbs in my collection

Physically, he's kinda like Meltdown from Transformers Animated. You try to touch him, you gonna get BURNED!

Yes, SG Combiner Ratchet

That's who Toxitron's new head was originally made to be, but then Takara went and made UW Grand Scourge, fulfilling the need for a CW evil black Optimus Prime lookalike.Prime Target wrote:Kind of a shame we never got a CW Nemesis Prime but i'll take Toxitron.
I take it you haven't read this Toxitron's story - http://www.transformersclub.com/prose/the_toxic_transformer.pdfPrime Target wrote:Well we've known since Animated that Toxitron was a failed clone of Optimus and he's Big and Dumb but in this figure I see potential for a storyline where he escapes whatever captivity he is in under Shockwave and goes on a Rampage on Cybertron.

I'm not sure if he can fly in limb modes, since it mentions the leg mode's jumping ability, but it doesn't say he can't either, so you can probably take it however you want.
I'm glad I have company in liking it, I was worried it'd go over like the whole Galvatronus mind control thing did...
I'm curious, other than BM and RiD Megatron (and those who share their molds), is this guy the only one to have a functional disembodied body part mode?
My intention with the bio was to take most of Starscream's defining qualities and flip them 180 degrees in a manner of speaking. So instead of thinking himself as the most handsome, he is the most handsome but doesn't feel that way. Instead of wanting to replace Megatron, he is a very capable leader himself but feels Megatron is more suited, etc. Even things like his weaknesses, which got cut for room, were the opposite of Starscream's.
OriginalWeaknesses: Starscream overrates himself sometimes, and finds himself in situations that are more than he can handle. His nose-dives often overload his gyro-circuitry leaving him disoriented briefly. But, overall, he is a very tough nut to crack.
SGSTARSCREAM's humility can sometimes impede missions. He often is perfectly capable of handling a situation on his own but overcompensates by planning for unnecessary reinforcements. When flying top speed at high altitudes STARSCREAM often overloads his gyro-circuitry leaving him briefly disoriented.
Adding bits about the medic (per Jesse's request) and the scientific mind, etc, certainly make him Jetfire like.
The Null Fist comes from a holdover from another bio and my deep seeded desire to make a G Gundam reference if at all possible.
For the record, this Starscream is from the G1 Sunbow SG universe...
If it's not apparent too, the bio is mostly meant to be silly. What with him being over the top great and handsome and all, and hopping around in leg mode all by himself.
It's a strange Ouroboros loop sort of thing actually since the tooling selection for CW Starscream was made a lock before the BotCon figures, but the decision to make it SG Starscream came after indications that it would be the last Club toy. (Basically the Club wanted to make the capstone figure something that undeniably had its roots in the Club's own heritage.)
The original character choice for the Starscream mold is what led to the idea to make a clear hand for Ratchet. Then the clear hand for Ratchet (specifically SG Ratchet) led to SG Starscream keeping his clear hand.
So tracing the process, it's: Starscream mold -> (SG) Ratchet -> SG Starscream
To add to that, the original concept's bio was written back in November of 2015 (which referred to it as "Shining Fist"). With the HFG being clear going back as far as May of 2015 (something I had suggested to get some Shining Finger love).
SG Starscream's bio was written back in March of 2016, when [Jesse] stated that the HFG could still be clear, the final bio reflected that fact.
There was no doubt discussion and concern about making another red and white Aerialbot, but the mock up showed it was actually different enough from Skydive, Cicadacon, and Windsweeper (none of which had white) and different from Airraid since the red and white were ending up in non-Aerialbot layouts.
Also as the concept was being worked on, there was a small uptick in demand/interest in the character with fans - largely overseas to be honest - trying to find the original or lamenting about the 2ndry market price.
The latter is why I felt good about the decision (after originally being more than skeptical), and I hope that those wanting a SG Starscream can more easily get one now. Cuz I mean yeah he's the subscription only figure but yeah he's not for everyone...
Yeah, it's not like there wasn't an attempt to change tools... *Sniff* SG Rodimus Prime will never be... but everything was too late in the process for it to be anything other than the Seeker mold.

Would it help if there was a story to tell why he's only Counterpunch now?RiddlerJ wrote:I missed the first TFCC Punch/Counterpunch and am really tempted to try and nab this one but as he's only Counterpunch, he feels slightly incomplete. I can't decide.
