I hope the constructicons feel/are sturdy enough to stand up, but considering he's 6 voyagers, I don't have my hopes up.

william-james88 wrote:I don't understand how anyone is looking at these pics to inform their purchasing decision beyond the idea of scale these pics give. We already have a bunch of far better in hand pics of this toy and all its components. I would strongly recomend looking at those for any indication of the toy beyond it's scale.
Here are a few examples:

or re-release Landfill under the Combiner wars Title as a substitute as when outside convention usage had the mold been recently used
You like RID Landfill that much?

I want to see him compared to one of the other Combiner Wars combiners so I have a better frame of reference scale-wise. But I've been lukewarm on this from the start; I have no real attachment to Devastator himself, and if a modern combiner doesn't Scramble or otherwise mix and match, it shouldn't need so much removable kibble.

You can probably switch the arms and legs around like on G1 Predaking. At least they manage to reuse the combiner kibble on this guy, with the chest shield splitting into guns.

I dunno, Devastator just strikes me as primitive compared to the other combiners in the line. Sure, he's big, but he's less versatile, and his components don't looks as good on their own as the members of the other combiners.
Yotsuyasan wrote:Super Megatron wrote:Along with Combiner Wars Optimus Prime, this will be another Combiner Wars figure I will be passing up.
I've got to say, I only picked up [Optimus] Prime because I am a slut for G1 (or G1-ish) Optimus Primes
Rodimus Prime wrote: even mistransformed, Devastator is nowhere near as bad as that POS or its repaints.
craggy wrote:I love how a lot of the posts slagging off Hasbro for cheapness or mistransformations, and asking if they've no pride in themselves are filled with spelling or grammar errors that make the points hilariously hypocritical. People in glass houses shouldn't throw hand-grenades.

I can work with that though... As the first of the combiners I like the idea that it is a bit more primitive/simplistic and the scramble city concept wasn't perfected yet.
william-james88 wrote:Emerje wrote: (I'll point out that he's got braces on his teeth for those swooning over him)
There is nothing wrong with braces. I dated a girl with braces once. We didnt cover all bases due to a primordial fear of mine but it was still a good time alltogether.

I find this is very weak reason to buy a sub-par toy, especially if it is a representation of a character you worship.

Blastback wrote:I'm really conflicted over this. Devastator himself is awesome, I'd scoop him up in a heartbeat. I love the size, he should tower over everyone else.
But what I really wanted were the individual Constructicons. And while the head sculpts are perfect and a huge selling point, between the lack of articulation, Long Haul looking like he shares my dietary habits, and some lackluster weapons, they are very underwhelming.
I'd been considering Green Giant, but again, what I really want are accurate heads....![]()

Thank mod I got a while to make up my mind.

With all the complaints of this nature, you can bet there will be third party fixes available for him that, combined with the cost of Devy himself, will still come out to be cheaper than Giant or Hercules.
