Well Sh!%. Now I might need to look into that. I loved that Prowlastator head. I have yet to buy 3rd party, but that may change my mind.... :BOT:
Perfect Effect are pretty decent quality too, so I think I'll be dropping cash for this upgrade set!
I'm with you D-Max, and that's good to read brokenchopstick!! I can save money now (Hasbro Devastator) to pay more later (PE accessories) I think I'll be OK without the elbow upgrade set for the regular figures but we will see where the price comes in for it.

the only reason I take interest is not the added articulation, but because it has a Cool Ass Prowl head! :BOT:

Sad thing is, when Devastator starts to become available to everyone, this thread is not gonna be as popular. :BANG_HEAD:

That PE set is very tempting... The add-on's for the individual figures' arms, Dev Mixmaster foot, and Scavenger and Hook vehicle improvements are good enough for me...
The extra head add-on's are just icing.

Yeah, it will most likely be pricey...
Thankfully I've been really selective with my purchases from this line.

If I get any of the add ons, they'll be the replacement arms from Dr. Wu, and whatever comes with them. I think the replacement head, hands, and gap fillers are cool, but I don't need them. I am trying to save as much money as possible.

It will be expensive. Think I paid £20+ for their Bludgeon upgrade. But it was worth it. So yeah, over £40 for either set. But it will be my definitive Devastator, so I want to get it right!

So Burn, you enjoying your devastator properly? Have you tried out the 'high kick' pose? I wonder about the solidness of the joints and center of gravity.

I've only had time to transform them from alt mode to bot mode (and aside from Long Haul who has to stay in bot mode) back to alt mode before combining them.

How do the joints in the legs seem? Nice and solid?

BBTS just sent me the preorder info for Takara's version.

$219.99 regularly $224.99 Ships in December.

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retail

Personally, I like Takara a little better... but those elbows and guns aren't worth $85 and 6 months to me. Looking like I'm going Hasbro.

Fo sho Cobro!!
CRAMY! I just noticed you posted Robotkingdom. Are they in Japan or China?
I'm starting to lean in your direction, i.e. retail + add-ons.

RK is HK based

Add ons, computed in total + shipping, wouldn't it be equivalent in total to the TT version. Anyway, preference do win in the end. I'm kind of scared at modifying the components since Hasbro usually uses those permanent rivets over the old phillips screw types of yesteryear.

OMG, I have not seen Regis Blackgaard in I do not know how many years. Talk about your obscure villains from 90's Christian radio programs.

But back on topic, as much as I want a Devastator (Hasbro, TT, or Hasbro SDCC), I can not see myself spending that much right now on any Transformer, though I realize I may have to pay more later if I do not buy him now. Honestly I would be content with the Hasbro retail version. Sure, there are no articulated elbows on the smaller bots, but are 12 extra joints really worth the import costs and various other up-marks on TTs version? Not in my book.

I don't understand why people get excited about RK pricing when their shipping costs can only be described as bloated and borderline extortion.
It at least gives us an idea of what to expect for HLJ's and Ami Ami's prices since they're usually not too far off from RK's pre-shipping prices.

I hear ya. And that was the point with my last comment.
Currently I've only committed to 18 CW figures total-- Devastator, both Hasbro and TT versions of Menasor, Hotspot, and First Aid.
Even though I'll probably get TT Superion, I'm more than willing to spend some to add-on to Devastator.
Cyclonus, Skylinx, and even the rest of Defensor are all "maybe's" for me.
My next purchase may not be until the Combaticons.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think it's weird that, like, 4 new 3P devs are coming out soon? (don't ask for names, I just remember seeing a lot of listings in the bbts weekly thing) also, anyone interested in the gravity builder guy; apparently he's 38 inches tall when combined.

I think companies are probably aware of how popular Devastaor is.
But Gravity Builder is only 15 inches tall (38 cm).
The individual bots look alright. Not G1 enough for me though.
Hasbro nailed this one.

OOOOooohh!!!!

I would love to see Instructions end up in the galleries for as many figures as possible. I've had a couple of alternators that after a few years, I had to searched EVERYWHERE online to figure out how to transform them again. Even the youtube videos usually block something important.
