Once I get enough time to myself (e.g., the weekend) I think I'll take a few group shots of my own of the 1984 catalogue/cast with the SDCC pop up Ark from last year's G1 Dinobots set. Of course, I'd make a few changes in the figures used (for instance, Cloud Optimus and United Voyager Megatron).

No, this was found on Ben yee's facebook page.

That's the one made by Goktimus Prime, posted over on Ozformers. (He's the guy that translated G2 Mp Bee's bio and others)

Hasbro UK, like many UK-based subsideraries of "foreign" (toy) companies, is little more than a warehouse. They are not really "Hasbro" per sec. In Hasbro UK's case, they are a small warehouse company in Wales, staffed by middle-aged ladies, who know nothing about the products that they sell. I remember once asking them if they had "Tigerhawk" for sale and I had to wait while they checked the internet (after I told them that I had already checked there). It turned out that their official records had him down as "Flying White Tiger". I kid you not.

I am so glad I left the UK for Japan, as Britain has less products than developing nations when it comes to toys. It's awful. (The girls are a bit better in Japan, too)

No longer the case, from my experience. I've met the brand reps for the past couple of years, and have spoken to the marketing and PR departments, as well as development, and they're all lovely and knowledgeable.

Some of the sales reps are not as clued up, I'll give you that much - and that's usually what affects distribution, along with strange market practices on the retailer side.

Also, the UK still gets a lot more than anywhere else in the EU!

Nope, I've done a similar combination with Silverbolt and he holds on perfectly. I'll see if I can track down some pics.

So basically I'm stuck with 4/5ths of a combiner and a single solitary member of another with absolutely no hope of getting the remaining limb (and the rest of the members of the other team) unless I cough up stupid amounts of money to buy from overseas scalpers on eBay.

Thanks Hasbro, way to show you care.

I'm seriously considering abandoning this hobby and selling my collection over this. I'm f*cking sick of being at the mercy of scalpers and paying in excess of £25 for a figure that retails for £15 (when it should only cost £10).

Ebay isn't the only place to look for figures, in fact there's an online store conveniently located in the UK with prices to match:Kapow Toys.

For your convenience I've been looking at the Combiner Wars listings, and they have Wave 2 available, £16.99 a pop. Much better deal, no?

If you mean Kapow Toys, it would appear most of their Wave 2 figures are out of stock.

I saw someone mention the website Masterforce on the forums recently: anyone had any experience buying from them?

Wow, the artist of that comic could have at least TRIED to make that combined Prime look like he was an actual combiner. The cover art is great, but the comic, not so much.

Aping for the Nick Roche approach but the results aren't too nice.

All of those comments appear to ring true for me also.
At first I thought there was a hint of Geoff Senior, then Nick Roche but realised neither comparison should be used as this art doesn't come close to their great work.
Perhaps this new artist will settle in after a few more issues. I need to see more I think? :-?

If I didn't know any better I'd say the artist was trying to capture the animated look where the limbs just became colored blocks with no real individual detail.

 You know, I really thought Va'al was commenting on the women at first, saying that primalxconvoy is missing all the sweet babes that flooded the country since he left (and that he has the experience to prove it). But no, turns out it wasn't the case. Still, UK is the birth nation of Kate Beckinsale and Catherine Zeta Jones, not too shabby.

And Primalxconvoy, since you are in Japan, are you even interested in these or are you just gonna get the Unite Warriors versions?

Just wondering, that mail stabbed us UE fans just for CW or RID too?

I can stand buying the whole wave 2 from RK, paying 50 dollars of shipping, and probably another 34 for customs. I actually did yesterday (save the customs since RK hasn't shipped yet and I should get the haul sometimes next week, by the way 5 days from Hong Kong to Italy), but there's no chance I'd do this for that lackluster RID line...

That's not Hasbro's fault, it's the retailers not ordering enough to make it worth while bringing the wave in unfortunately. Same thing is happening here in Aus.

Don't get enough orders to meet minimum? Wave doesn't get imported...

Not here... not even the cheap Tiny Titans. I have seen kids take interest in Transformers however, but the prices do work against them... and the fact we still have some AoE stock to eliminate.

The Warrior Bumblebees and Drifts move as fast as the CW Deluxes locally. Strongarm is a pretty strong seller too, if not as fast as the formers. Most of the pegs at my Target have a few Grimlocks and a glut of Steeljaws.

We've been blowing through the Tiny Titans at both Target and TRU locally. My sons always want to pick them up, although their enthusiasm wanes as soon as they make it home.
