Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Discussion Thread

I've been debating on getting this because he's totlly not painted like Nova Prime... but I can't deside if I want this or the TFCC fig... I won't be combining, (unless Botcon 2016 gives us Army-Builder Sweeps... where's that new guy? I wanna give him a suggestion) so the hip pose is actually WORSE now for me than with Prime.
[quote="Burn"]So I was fiddling around with Rook while watching the original Mission Impossible movie tonight.
Not a big fan of the figure, I get what his alt mode is, I just don't like. Robot mode is ... okay.
What I do like though is you can basically turn him into a walking armoury. Combiner feet/hands can plug into each shoulder, you can then plug another weapon onto his back (the pack can then fold up for a over-the-shoulder weapon ... gosh ... that's something that could be done for Impactor) plus the obligatory weapons on his forearms and to top it off, one to plug into his foot.

offrod's vehicle mode is good for this too.
1) attach his gun to the post in his bed in foot formation
2) Attach Drag Strip's gun to the top of Offroad's foot piece using the peg hole under the "toes"/ Knuckle Guns. Unfold the hand so that it wraps around Offroad's footgun.
3) attach remaining Menasor handfeets to the hand-hold holes in Drag Strip's piece.

[quote="Seibertron"]Not sure if this is something new I discovered or not, but I figured out a different configuration for Sunstreaker's accessories in vehicle mode which seems a little more like Sunstreaker with the intakes and engine on top.

Can be done on Breakdown too, plus that's the original discovery that lead to the Sunstreaker rumor.

On that line of thought, there are some small tabs on top of Fireflight's jet mode fuselage that don't seem to be used for anything, anybody have ideas? I've been wondering for awhile, but I could never get the kibblehand to peg on there.

Yeah but I wouldn't have the new hip ratchets.
So lemme get this right....you paid all that money....for the sake of new hip ratchets? for the same bloody figure!(albeit with a new paint job).
Hey! it's your money & you can do whatever you like with it, but I'm sure other people wouldn't go to those extremes(some might! but not all).
+ you probably wanted it to do your reviews with anyway.
Actually no I was going to use the original Prime as the new head didn't look "New" enough for me. I'm really not that handy and when it comes to fixing ratchet joints I've been lucky and don't wanna push my chances. Keep in mind I have gift cards from Amazon so I didn't pay THAT much. Of course you know this will be part of a Christmas sale on Amazon now.

I showed this off in my review a while back. Breakdown, Offroad, and Dragstrip were the only three bots at the time that had limb module integration. With every new figure I check since they don't mention it in the instructions.

Yup, the reason it isnt apaprent is because they are a different shape from the hole but they surprisingly fit in quite snug.

Concerning this:

I'm guessing this is the result of a misinterpretation of the line art for that particular part. Just switch the high and low areas, the lines are the same.

Yeah good point.
Idk maybe someone on Ebay will eventually sell those fixed parts, so that I can get them and switch those out on Motormaster (if they don't release a fixed Motormaster other than the Takara one that is).

[quote="william-james88"]Remember when stickers were released for the first two waves of Combiner Wars? Well, there are stickers/decals for every other wave as well as some for Devastator. Fenrir72 gave us the tip for Devy and we found the rest on Robot Kingdom's facebook page. It seems all of these sticker sheets are predominantly for the Asian market, as the previous ones were. Robot Kingdom will be including the Wave 3 and 4 sheets depending on the amount spent on an order of Generations figures and the Devastator decals appear to be only released for Taiwan as is explained on the snakas blog.
Here are the images of these stickers as well as how they look like applied on Devastator. However, please note that the panel lining technique is used on those images and thus simply applying the stickers may not yield the same overall look.

When I look at the stickered version of him, I realize that they also added a bit of paint wash to him, like in the panel lines for example. So really, when you think it's all the stickers doing the job, actually it's mostly the paint wash.

Doubt it. They would have done a 3D render before it was sent to production. Chances are this particular piece was a generic piece that didn't even require designing so they just used it.
It would explain why it was never picked up until final release forcing them back to the design screen.

He literally is a walking armory!

AS for the horns, I really like them. They're not the originals, but they look pretty sweet to me. I like updates more than straight up redoing the same thing over again

Any toy customizers able to confirm if the ratchets are identical across more than one mould of a toy or if they are unique - it just seems like perhaps there is some old Unicron Trilogy toy we might be able to disassemble and save a lot of both with some appropriately donated Female top* Ratchets.

FYI, if Hasbro re-releases Motormaster with the fixed hips, I have a feeling it won't be easy to tell, especially if you order online. When Takara did a running change with Jinbu from TF-Go, BBTS told me there was no way for them to know if they had the fixed figure.

I don't know if they still do this but didn't they used to stamp in the boxes a impressed serial number that differs for each design change - and it may even be the case that the white or black numbers tampographed on the toys differ too (but that might be more to do with mould and factory origin IDs).
I've not had reason to look in recent times though I do recall it being the case on Cybertron toys.

I think a new team of 'destructicons' or something like that, would be cool. Like weaponized construction vehicles (like BMach scavenger - an excellent figure) they could have rook (with just cannon/ports, instead of molded hands), swindle, a new mold based on BMach scavenger, a re-use of first-aid/re-mold of brawl, and hotspot with a big excavator arm with mini-guns attached to the bucket.

So DotM Wreckers style? I loved those guys. Possibly my favorite alt modes of all time. really. And Topspin was an incredible Deluxe too!

Close: the ones on the box they were production run numbers. The last major time we paid close attention to them was for DotM Crankcase from 2011, to separate the long fingered from the (badly) clipped and retooled ones.
Nowadays, it seems Hasbro is doing more to help customers differentiate between variants, like placement of accessories in the box.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

I thought we did that for the fixed Brainstorm?
