So that's probably Combiner Wars (proper) 2-5: The Transformers 40 and 41 and Windblade 2 and 3.

We joke, but the transformers budget is shared by the whole team. It would make less sense if it wasnt true. I'm voting with my wallet and buying original unique molds. Which means I end up with the entire cast of RID warriors and only have 3 complete combiners.

And here I was thinking that's what all those idiotic rid repaints were for (*cough* yellow wheel bee... *cough*)

But those are all the same characters anyways. They are not using any mold to make new characters. You can skip out on the repaints and not miss out on any character. Its not different thatn Age of Extinction or any previous show line of the past 30 years.

Oh no doubt. But by that logic, the generations line should have some fully unique molds, which it doesnt. So we get back to square one where in the end, the RID line has moe unique molds, sculpts and engineering than CW. Unless developing the port system was really expesive and the entire line is to offset that development cost.

Well, I think the prot system is ingenius and we don't give them enough credit for it; it seems to be made of many parts, and has two full ratchet systems each, plus the ports on the voyagers have springs in them I thin to give it the tension needed to clip them together; so, I suppose with r&d and production, it could easily eat up a chunk of the budget :-?

But, by that logic, once the year rolled over - or they broke even on it - we should have seen more new molds this year >:oP

Much appreciated, thanks so much!

Edit: read that as being from member that had them in hand. Looking for breakdown of what figure came with what comic, primarily, but this is still useful :)

Yes and no: it can go there, but the stock of the rifle clashes with Bruticus's "shark fin". What I did with mine is drilled one of Onslaught's screwholes in his shoulders (which end up above the front wheel arches in vehicle mode) slightly larger so the rifle could plug in it.

Thanks! I will try to figure something out with the rifle. I bought one off eBay just for this figure. I wonder if cutting away some of the detail on the bottom of the stock (it has a cable or something) would give it enough space to fit against the head while being plugged into the keyhole meant for Shockwave (who I am still pissed cannot interact with CW Megatron). I may just widen a screw hole like you did, though. It seems like a much easier thing to do and really doesn't affect the structural integrity of the figure.

Lol I haven't been on the boards in a minute, have I missed anything? Anyhow I have finished designing the CW gestalt ankle joints, it's just a matter of getting a gestalt to try them out on before bothering to print them since I want to film my testing of it.

You mean Sky Lynx, the center guy? Sky Reign is the combined bot.

Interestingly, the subgroup for Offroad is "Stunticons" (source) while the subgroup for Ironhide is "Optimus Maximus" (source).

Image

The subgroup for Trailbreaker is Lynx King, though his text does say he forms an arm or leg of Sky Reign. Hound/Smokescreen/Wheeljack have Sky Reign as a subgroup. Sounds like Lynx King was the original name for Sky Reign, and they forgot to correct it!

About the net - it's expensive to ship to Malaysia, and any online retailer based in Malaysia won't have Sky Lynx nor Swindle/Blast Off/Brawl/Vortex either. Nearby in Southeast Asia, Singapore (sometimes) has earlier arrivals, or not at all - Blackjack/Huffer was notably missing. China has better stock but I can't read Chinese and dare not take the plunge using Google Translate. It's funny how hard it is to get stocked considering the toys are made nearby, in Vietnam!

I should also mention that the culture is a bit different in the city - the toy collector shops are easy to get to by train, and our courier services aren't that dependable (I've had to go to the post office because they say nobody was in, when there was...) That, and there generally isn't a culture of returning items or accepting returns. Thus the only time I'd get something shipped is if I cannot physically buy it in the country!

Combiner Wars G2 Menasor and Sky Reign (Lynx King) limbs found at retail in Malaysia

Postby william-james88 » Wed Jan 13, 2016 10:07 pm

Motto: "'till All Are One"
Fellow Malaysian Seibertronian albnok got some nice hunting trophies from his Transformers hunt deep in the Malaysian wild. Not only did he find Generations G2 Menasor in stock but also every single deluxe from the Sky Reign wave. Here is what albnok had to say:

albnok wrote:Dammit Hasbro Malaysia!

I could have also bought Scattorshot but chose not to, in hopes of the Computron release. No Legends figures in stock yet.

In other news, G2 Silverbolt is tighter where it comes to putting his gun in, and G2 Blackjack doesn't stay on G2 Motormaster (though, G2 Motormaster has the gear fix.)

The comics with Hound/Smokescreen/Trailbreaker/Wheeljack are Combiner Wars #17-20.

albnok then gave a more detailed breakdown of the comics included with the figures:

albnok wrote:
Trailbreaker CW #17 The TF 40 : The Possible Light
Wheeljack CW #18 Windblade 2: Mistakes And Mayhem
Hound CW #19 The TF 41: You, Me, And The Universe
Smokescreen CW #20 Windblade 3: (no title?)

An other interesting tidbit is the name Lynx King found in the specs on Trailbreaker, as you can see near the "subgroup" heading. This name only appears on that character's bio where it is marked "sky reign" for the others.

albnok wrote:

Hey albnok, if it isnt too much trouble, could you take pictures of the back of the comics, which shows the bios. Those are bios we have never seen before. If its clear enough to read from your photo, we will news it for all to see!
