We joke, but the transformers budget is shared by the whole team. It would make less sense if it wasnt true. I'm voting with my wallet and buying original unique molds. Which means I end up with the entire cast of RID warriors and only have 3 complete combiners.

Could I bug you for the exact issue breakdown? Been trying to keep track of it in our Comics Forum FAQ page for others to follow along with things in order if they'd like, plus identification of how the comic was originally sold (Windblade #2, Rid/TF #33, and so on)albnok wrote:The comics with Hound/Smokescreen/Trailbreaker/Wheeljack are Combiner Wars #17-20.

And here I was thinking that's what all those idiotic rid repaints were for (*cough* yellow wheel bee... *cough*)

But those are all the same characters anyways. They are not using any mold to make new characters. You can skip out on the repaints and not miss out on any character. Its not different thatn Age of Extinction or any previous show line of the past 30 years.

I meant the repaints help increase the budget for the line

Oh no doubt. But by that logic, the generations line should have some fully unique molds, which it doesnt. So we get back to square one where in the end, the RID line has moe unique molds, sculpts and engineering than CW. Unless developing the port system was really expesive and the entire line is to offset that development cost.

The autobot deluxes would go with Sky Lynx, but since he got Onslaught, whom forms a torso, I figured that counted as a whole combiner, even if they are not the right team

I was just surprised because we got those images so long ago.
Mindmaster wrote:Crosscheck wrote:Can anyone who has both G1 and CW Onslaught tell me if his G1 rifle fits in the spot on the turret of the CW figure? I want a better gun for Bruticus than Shockwave.
Yes and no: it can go there, but the stock of the rifle clashes with Bruticus's "shark fin". What I did with mine is drilled one of Onslaught's screwholes in his shoulders (which end up above the front wheel arches in vehicle mode) slightly larger so the rifle could plug in it.

I could have also bought Scattorshot but chose not to, in hopes of the Computron release. No Legends figures in stock yet.
In other news, G2 Silverbolt is tighter where it comes to putting his gun in, and G2 Blackjack doesn't stay on G2 Motormaster (though, G2 Motormaster has the gear fix.)
The comics with Hound/Smokescreen/Trailbreaker/Wheeljack are Combiner Wars #17-20.
3 whole combiners in a single trip! nice!
so wait a minute! who's the main combiner for those Autobot deluxes?
Didn't you see Sky Reign anywhere on the net?

Interestingly, the subgroup for Offroad is "Stunticons" (source) while the subgroup for Ironhide is "Optimus Maximus" (source).
The subgroup for Trailbreaker is Lynx King, though his text does say he forms an arm or leg of Sky Reign. Hound/Smokescreen/Wheeljack have Sky Reign as a subgroup. Sounds like Lynx King was the original name for Sky Reign, and they forgot to correct it!

Nearby in Southeast Asia, Singapore (sometimes) has earlier arrivals, or not at all - Blackjack/Huffer was notably missing. China has better stock but I can't read Chinese and dare not take the plunge using Google Translate. It's funny how hard it is to get stocked considering the toys are made nearby, in Vietnam!
I should also mention that the culture is a bit different in the city - the toy collector shops are easy to get to by train, and our courier services aren't that dependable (I've had to go to the post office because they say nobody was in, when there was...) That, and there generally isn't a culture of returning items or accepting returns. Thus the only time I'd get something shipped is if I cannot physically buy it in the country!

Thanks for letting us in on your cultural toy habits!
Hey albnok, if it isnt too much trouble, could you take pictures of the back of the comics, which shows the bios. Those are bios we have never seen before. If its clear enough to read from your photo, we will news it for all to see!
Mindmaster wrote:"Lynx King" sounds way cooler than "Sky Reign", IMO.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.
