In photo news, I am in process of taking a bunch of pics, including the mix of the two Computrons as requested. I just wanted to mention it as I will probably only post the pics here and not in the Unite Warriors thread. I will also, probably spread out over a couple of days so as not to photo-blitz the threads....

And Computron is fun, regardless of Hasbro or Takara. I am seriously amazed at the differences in Scatershot looks between the three available versions...

Is the plastic on the scattershot wings the same between Hasbro and Takara? And can you post a pic of what Strafe is supposed to look like as a leg for the Takara version?

I'll add those to my list of pics. I haven't gotten UW Scattershot out of the box yet (will happen later tonite!) The two Hasbro versions feel about the same, except the Boxset version appears to be painted. It's definitely shinier. Is it just me, or are more figures coming from Hasbro these days with shiny plastic or shiny paint? (Wolfwire and Boxset Scattershot as examples. They almost look like painted die cast...)

Hasbro's palstic has definitely gotten shinnier. Its most apparent in the RID line. Excpt for the recent Power Surge Prime in the WIndblade wave which uses a weird all spark blue coloured plastic.

On the topic of the plastic, I cannot tell any difference in the wing plastic of the three versions of Scattershot. There might be slightly more rigidity to the Hasbro Boxset version. But, I wonder if it is possibly painted... At any rate, taking pictures.

I hope you dont mind Ag, but I was so curious, I tried out the reverse configuration for UW Computron myself and I realized that the way the instructions say to transform the limbs is not great. It would look like this:






But I went for this instead, looks better:






Anyways, here is why I wanted the UW Computron, he looks totally distinct from the previous uses of the mold.

Oh, not at all! I find that this config makes him look too short legged and long armed. And it's one less pic I need to post.

I am finding that I really like then individual bots of UW and the combined form of CW. Pics to follow today!

Okay, here's something of a photo blitz. (Additional pics in the PE Add-on thread in the unlicensed forum, as well as my final configuration that will be sitting on my shelf.)

First off, this might just be the proof my wife needs to have me committed for letting my plastic crack habit go out of control. Not counting 3P stuff, I have 3 Scattershots. That's right, 3!


If you notice the one in the back from the Hasbro box set, the hands store in the feet, and make interesting "pontoons"



It would be nice if the post could lay completely over, but it is interesting...

Now, on to some requested configurations. First I have Autobot N, with:

Not bad...

Next I have Kurona, with:

No Scrounge (And unfortunately, there is not an easy way to put Scrounge on UW Strafe, in case someone wanted to know.)

CW Hands and feet


Again, not bad, but this helped me to realize that in gestalt mode, there isn't as much difference between these as I might have hoped. I hope these are what you are looking for.

On a separate note, got my Groove on Saturday, and he's not bad, the way the legs clip together is kind of mundane, and poorly designed, but everything else about him is amazing, and really reminds me of the quality of figures from a time long passed, definitely doesn't feel or look like a hasbro figure (which, it isn't)

I got a UW on pre-order at BBTS...so I will get it eventually. But all of the CW sets (sans G2 Bruticus which is still relatively new) have gone on sale at some point. I've noticed the proce came back up, but at one point Victorion was on sale at Target.com for $72.99 (that's when I got mine). Though CW Computron coming towards the end. Perhaps not as many were produced so who knows. Still I'll be patient unless these start to sell out quickly

Yeah, Groove felt like a figure from a year or two earlier, really great. Meanwhile, yesterday I managed to track down the 5 CW limbs I was missing at Marshalls, and I'm really disappointed in the feel of the two I've opened so far. Smokescreen feels cheap, but still seems okay, maybe some Pledge on some joints will be needed, but nothing too bad. Wheeljack.... ugh... Not the deco I usually see complaints about, just nothing fits right like it did on past uses of the mold. His front section of the car won't even peg onto the midsection due to them using plastic that's too soft to hold the connection. Glad I didn't pay full price for that one. Even ten bucks seems high.

Got my Takara Computron last Wednesday from robotkingdom. He's awesome BUT strafe came with two left thighs and knees so that sucks. You can't use him as an arm for full motion. I contacted Robotkingdom asking for if anything a replacement right leg for Strafe, they asked for photos and I sent them pics showing he has two left thighs and knees and I've yet to hear back for a solution. I've contacted them yesterday for an update and still no reply back. Might be boned.
