Basically, he shows that Brawl is the victim of bad design and that he was not mistransformed. :BOT:

What a load of blatant bs, that's a serious d!ck slap to the face to all the fans, 1 of 2 new combiner components for next year is utter trash, color me disappointed - not surprised, just disappointed >:oP

On second thought, TT also had a hand in designing this, so, yeah, actually, WTF? 2 design teams and they couldn't make it tab together, F$%K this :BANG_HEAD:

EASY, Hellscream! You'll spill your coffee if you get too worked up. ;)

:-s NOOOOOO! If we spill the coffee, we'll have to find some other emoticon to horrendously overuse!

I would be in trouble then, wouldn't I? ;)

That really stinks about Brawl. What if it's something where tooling the waist hinge so it folded down properly would've cost too much money, like the elbows on the Constructicons? Perhaps Takara will have a better waist for the gift set.

LOTS of people either think there is a design problem with the waist, that i transformed it incorrectly or just missed something. Here is an update video i did a little bit ago to show a closer look at the torso and why i transformed it the way i did...

One thing though, seeing that waist issue I really hope we do not get that Ramhorn retool as Nosecone. Not only would it be a pathetically small nosecone but I would want to avoid that waist as much as possible.

Thank you very much sir :) Upgrading my computer and editing software has made that entirely possible. A friend of mine has dubbed it the "circle of zoom" LOL. Fortunately with my new camera as well, the resolution stays high and you can see it still decently when i put the zoom in during post production.

Depends on your point of view really...

But it all serious it's hard to believe the torso just sits there like that. I've watched the update video several times and I'm not seeing any better way to transform him.

It would be awesome to see takara do some Guard City, Ruination(RID/Car Robots), and Battle Gaia repaints. Takara should do a heavy retool of generations waspinator, and Universe Dinobot into a CHUG Beast Wars 2 Cyber Beasts Dirgegun and Thrustor. Also they should do a Beast Wars BB (obviously would be a generationd dreadwing repaint), and starscream (probably a retool of energon starscream) beacuse I am pretty sure a lot of people would be wabting those guys. :D

If you're watching the G1 cartoon with someone who doesn't know much about Transformers, and they ask you if you have action figures of the characters on the screen, can you just point to your CW figures? Or do you think you need to clarify that the toys were under a different line than the originals? Do the CW figures represent the G1 characters as adequately as the originals do? If you have the CW figures but not the original G1 toys, do you still feel like the G1 continuity is still adequately represented in plastic form?

I would point at my CW/Classics/whatever and say these are the modern versions of the guys on the screen. Some, like Slingshot, are identical. Some, like Prime and Megatron (the original Classics release), have been updated for the modern age, but are meant to be the same guys on screen.

For the combiners, yes.

Or do you think you need to clarify that the toys were under a different line than the originals? Do the CW figures represent the G1 characters as adequately as the originals do?

They represent them better

If you have the CW figures but not the original G1 toys, do you still feel like the G1 continuity is still adequately represented in plastic form?

More so, the G1 toys are almost something else since they are a relic of another brand. These new toys are actually based on the characters first and not the other way around.

Yes with an added footnote for clarification. Only because some of the CW line are different enough in one mode or the other to cause confusion. Take CW Megatron for example.

I had to dig out my weapons for the Aerialbots. I was mistaken in the video, they are reused weapons. Sorry for the confusion

Actually, it IS new. It has a hole on the bottom of the foot, used to plug in to the top of Brawl. You can clearly see there is a peg to flip up from the back of the turret that the foot can plug into like the one on top of Rook.

Also, I am in utter disbelief that the torso would not lock into place. It looked like it wasn;t clicked back far enough.

I have to second this. Are we absolutely sure that it doesn't accordion in? It really looks like it should...
The original post was talking about Blast Off's gun, not Brawl's.

However, the post you quoted was talking about Brawl's waist. Added strikethroughs to clear that up. >:oP

As for the ongoing question, yes, I absolutely consider my Combiner Wars toys to be representations of the G1 characters, especially since I don't even have other toys of most of the 84 Autobot retools.

Probably depends on which version of Onslaught you want. This whole "running change" thing will make it more difficult to get him through online retailers, ESPECIALLY if they don't distinguish one from another.

Actually I think certain retailers, like BBTS and their ilk, will differentiate.

i wish they could have at least remolded the nose and tail fin and put a 4 blade rotor to look more like a blackhawk just to differentiate the choppers from each other more
to me it still looks like a civilian rescue chopper, but still a nice representation of Vortex

still, they may paint the missles one color, and the in-between space a different color, on the other hand, they didn't do that to blades did they?
