Not just an arse, but an idiot too. No point in suing if no money is being made. Which is one of the reasons I think Hasbro doesnt do it. The legal costs might outweigh what they could get from suing 3p companies. The 3p market is ridiculously small in comparison to the Trasformers brand.

No Hasbro wont sue, they just wont allow 3rd party builders at Botcon ;) . Again I'm not talking about pressing charges, but it is what it is. Nobody who if a fan of Transformers cant look at Quantron honestly and not think Computron. At some point you have to use common sense. Again I'm not saying these things should not exist. But in the original context - Calling Western Animiation's product a "knockoff" in comparison to PE just seems silly.

But as for Hasbro's CW Computron -It is really great looking. cant wait for more detailed photos.

Also wish that the G2 Superion and G2 Menasor sets had come with the new Combiner hands and feet. That would have been awesome!

It'd also be awesome if we can get some "generic" sets of the hands and feet in the colors of the other Combiner sets to go with the previous combiners that have the terrible hands and feet.

Thanks so much for asking, N. I actually love him. Which is odd since people might remember I was really down on the guy.

I once looked at what was going on and thought that even if we do get him, we would be stuck with the same crappy scattershot and the poor excuse of a drill on nosecone.

But looking at him there in the picture, I really see a fully unique combiner even if nothing is fully new here. He seems to be his own guy and looks glorious.

I especially like that 1 is a completely new mold for Hasbro, and not only that but it is even a retool from Takara's exclusive mold, so doubly new. And its an interesting take on afterburner. I mean, how else would they have handled that elongated tron like motorbike from the Groove mold.

Its cool how both Scattershot and Strafe have new add ons. I dont own scattershot yet so this is a major win. The chest looks great! I would have preferred a double nosecone for Strafe but this isnt so bad. And I am a big fan of the previous classics strafe which was also a single nosecone jet (and a stealth one at that) so this is fine.

Plus I love being able to handle a mold or something new to it without needing to spend tons on an exclusive so I will be able to experience that Botcon Ramhorn addition without buying Ramhorn.

The weakest one of the bunch is lightspeed simply because I have this mold a bunch. And plus I forget where I found this but I had read that his head will simply be the streetwise head and that ticks me off.

But all in all, I am happy that there is as much new with this toy as there is with other combiners and that he looks unique in his own way. That pat means a lot to me. He will be bought at 25% off guaranteed!

I think Hasbro's way of dealing with the KO guys was to make what they were making, just cheaper. For a lot of fans who wanted a Devestator, but didn't want to buy six $100 guys to build him, one Hasbro Devestator seemed like a pretty good alternative.

I think all of Combiner Wars was a sort of gag reflex to the 3P industry. And I think we'll continue to see more and more Hasbro versions of toys the 3P guys have already put out.

(P.S. I am not complaining, lol)

I'm surprised they didn't include them in the G2 sets. It'd be nice if they just did like $15 hands and feet baggies for online stores

Because the gimmick is anyone can be an arm or leg and it's easier and cost effective to make a hand/foot combo. The original hand/foot do work. Especially since the target audience is kids.

Will, I remember one time many months ago if I would be happy with a Computron as just repaints basically and I told you I still would since he is my favorite. Well, this cements just how awesome he is. I love it! He is utterly unique and this scattershot looks sooooo much different from the other with proper paint! Plus all the limbs look amazing and he works awesome in combined mode! I love him, and I am glad that you came around to him too. Cause he has great potential here :MAXIMAL:

Thanks so much for asking, N. I actually love him. Which is odd since people might remember I was really down on the guy.

I had asked specifically for that reason, as I had wanted to see if seeing the full figure changed your mind.

william-james88 wrote:I once looked at what was going on and thought that even if we do get him, we would be stuck with the same crappy scattershot and the poor excuse of a drill on nosecone.

I do agree that Ramhorn/Nosecone's drill should be bigger.

That I also agree with.

I am pleasantly surprised by Afterburner, as I expected him to be more or less an orange retool of Groove. Instead, he is a glorious mix of red, white, black, and green that really helps to bring the combiner together.

william-james88 wrote:Its cool how both Scattershot and Strafe have new add ons. I dont own scattershot yet so this is a major win. The chest looks great! While I did purchase the original Scattershot, I don't regret doing so. Given that Sky Lynx couldn't support the combiner's weight in combined mode, I needed to replace him without using BC Prime, as that would be putting putting two of the same torso on the same shelf (I have a section for new Autobot combiners, which is the residence of Optimus Maximus and now Betatron). Thus, Betatron was the perfect torso to use there.

william-james88 wrote:Plus I love being able to handle a mold or something new to it without needing to spend tons on an exclusive so I will be able to experience that Botcon Ramhorn addition without buying Ramhorn.

I do agree with that sentiment, though I am getting Predacus first anyway (given that Botcon is in April and Comps won't be out by then).

Considering that (from what we've seen) the Liokaiser boxset is coming with the HFG's, this just seems odd that Computron has dedicated extrematies.

I have always loved that class size from the Beast Wars and Machine Wars "Basics" to the Cybertron Scout Class and now the Combiner Wars Legends. My only complaint with the current ones are that I wish they had accessories. Bombshell needs his gun, Cosmos could use a yellow or green gun of some sort, and so on. I know some of the Generations ones had Mini-Cons or Targetmasters or Micromasters (whatever you want to call them), but that's not what I'm looking for. Just a regular ol' gun would be fantastic.

Allow me to translate his bio from Spanish:

"Of all the Combiner robots, COMPUTRON has succeeded the most in combining the different personalities of his robot components. COMPUTRON processes information received by each of the Technobots and evaluates all possible results to identify the perfect plan of attack. He is never wrong, but rarely fast."

That's Computron all right. And he does look good, despite being nothing but mold reuses. At least the retooling done on Groove, Air Raid, and Silverbolt make him look a bit more distinct. I'd still expect a new head on Lightspeed as all the others should have one.

Yah, it's a "children's toy" in theory, but the Combiner Wars toys are definitely geared more toward collectors. It was a solution that was a cheaper solution than coming up with separate mold pieces for left and right hands and feet.
