Can someone please tell me if these Megatrons in the Combiner Wars series are combiners themselves like the Optimus figure?

I like this but I have had trouble with rubber treds rotting so it makes me a little wary.

They are not.
They call me “Tanker Chungus”!

If not I think Hasbro's really missing an opportunity. I had hoped that the Combiner Wars Umbrella meant something more encompassing. Imagine if everything combined! Sad.

are you kidding? you think hasbro is missing an opportunity to ruin the one stellar figure they have in this line?
seriously.. the only thing that adding a combining gimmick to this figure is going to do is ruin it.
you ruin the look, you ruin the quality, and you probably ruin the paint job. there's no reason for it. at all.

The Deluxes, Voyagers and some of the Legends do combine. The rest are just Combiner Wars in name only and stand-alone. Call them welcome additions that don't make you feel obligated to get the rest of the group

Re: Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Discussion Thread
Other than the head sculpt, I'm not a fan of this Megatron at all. From the waist up he's ok, but anything below the waist not only looks horrible to me, but is very limited in articulation as well.
Yes, the knees bend, but not very far. And as far as I'm aware, his hips don't move forward very far either.
For me, this just isn't a good Megatron, but I'm glad other folks seem to like him.

Something approaching joy is rising within me regarding this incarnation of Megatron. I am totally hyped for this figure and glad I pre-ordered it. It'll look glorious in my rather small TF collection.

Huh, that face sculpt is amazing. Though I still think I'll stick with the Armada Megatron version.

So the G1/IDW Megs has meaty arms, but skinny ass legs? Not sure I like... IT'd be nice to have a beefy Megatron, but I'm not sure this is it... We'll wait and see I guess...

I'm into this. Skinny legs and all. Feeling less and less obligated to track down a Takara version of Classics Megs.

[quote="Va'al"]Via Taiwanese Facebook fan group Transformers Prime TFP, we get our first sighting and in-hand look at the upcoming Transformers Generations [Combiner Wars] Leader class G1 styled Megatron (though now a tank) - and a brief look at its retooled redeco Armada Megatron in its package! Check out the mirrored images below, showing off the robot mode of the silvery Decepticon leader, and a size comparison with Masterpiece MP-10 Optimus Prime. Should we even ask if you'll be picking this one up when it shows up at a store near you..?

The two figures look different enough from the paint app and the new head to warrant getting both. I still think its a good design despite the tiny legs!

Just looking back at the pics. His legs look great from the side. Real geewanese. From the front is when they get spindly.

They could have released Megatron as a Generations figure and left the Combiner wars to things that actually COMBINE

Your pretty spot on there TimothyR. Plus Megatron wouldn't need to combine with anyone else.

I agree completely, except the head is the only saving grace for me. Oh well, if you like him, have fun with him. The wait for MP Megs v2 continues.

Almost good enough, but not quite. Back to waiting on Apollyon or legit MP Megatron.

Re: Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Discussion Thread
I live in Western NY and the only thing I've seen related to CW were a couple of the scout-class figures at the local TRU. Heck, I haven't even seen Brainstorm, Arcee, Chromia, Cosmos, Swerve, and Shrapnel.
There are a ton of Whirls and Roadbusters shelfwarming though. I've only seen two Skybytes (I bought one of them).
I have a feeling that I'm going to have to order online like the rest of the figures I listed
Will probably be buying from BBTS though, as the CW figures cost an arm and a leg on Amazon

Ebay's in no short supply though.
Both my TRU's have had no combiner figures, though I did come across a Thudnercracker and Windcharger. And I just picked up Windblade though she's technically a Generations figure. They need to get these AOE toys out on clearance.
Seeing the figure in package now, I'll definitely pick up Megatron. Prime I feel is a wasted potential. At the very least, I can have this Megatron doing battle against my Cybertron Optimus Prime.

Its gonna take a miracle for Hasbro to get Megatron right. This is not it. I like the Armada version better. Also, they should of just made him voyager. Its really dumb to have Megatron as big as Skyfire.

So "mean" looking! Why are the 'cons always portrayed as so?
