Crosscheck wrote:Here is my theory for what the members of the Protectobots and Combaticons will be made off.
Protectobots:
Hot Spot - the fire truck mold we saw in the Fan Combiner poll
Groove - motorcycle from poll
Blade - Remold of Alpha Bravo. Replace missile arms with landing struts. New head. Possible New tail rotor (since it is on a swivel for basically no reason).
Streetwise - probable remold of a Stunticon. My guess is Dead End, though Breakdown is possible.
First Aid - if the rumors of a Masqueradesque Ironhide is true, he will probably share that mold. Otherwise Offroad is a possibility. I am hoping for more of a van though.
Rook - if this guy turns into a tank, I wouldn't be surprised. My guess is he will be Offroad in a fire chief deco.
Combaticons:
Onslaught - remold of Hot Spot with ladder replaced with cannon array.
Vortex - possibly just a straight up repaint of Alpha Bravo.
Blast-off - remold of Alpha Bravo. Look at AB's front. That is full on space shuttle, not helicopter. My guess is the missile launcher arms will be replaced with wings and engines somehow and the tail rotor will be replaced with an engine and vertical stabilizer. If they replaces the entire tail assembly, would not surprise me.
Swindle - maybe an Offroad remold. Maybe a brand new jeep mold that could be shared with Hound or something.
Brawl - probable new tank mold. Can't see him being done any other way.
Legends class member - hopefully something new. If they make Swindle the LC member and add a new character like they are doing with the Protectobots, I would be intrigued and confused though. Possibly just a recolor and remold of Powerglide though.
Crosscheck wrote:Ok. I am fine with that, though Cybertronian modes saddens me. I want earth modes, not cheatsy tech modes.

First Aid was bit of a mix of Animated Ratchet and Universe Ironhide
Assumed First Aid was only in vehicle mode, but it reminded me on universe Ironhide, so it's not a fact that he'll get an Ironhide repaint. Only an assumption of mine.
It was a new mold. But in terms of style, less realistic than the Stunticons.
Streetwise wasn´t glued to the shelf, so I had the chance to look unerneath. Entirely new Mold (I owned BH Smokescreen back then).
The assumed First Aid´s vehicle mode takes design elements of Animated Ratchet and Universe Ironhide, but I´m 99% sure, that it´s a new mold.
Venksta confirms Rook is a new mold figure and describes it as being like a mix of Universe (2008) Onslaught and Scout-Class Breacher from the post-ROTF Hunt For The Decepticons subline, saying that it's a six-wheeled, armored SWAT-type vehicle, but lacks a gun turret.

Sabrblade wrote:Something I just realized about CW Motormaster. He isn't a black truck with purple windows. His colors bear closer resemblance to AOE Galvatron than they do any version of Motormaster.

That doesn't have to be guaranteed. The legends molds aren't gang molded with the voyagers, so they could use just about anyone that fits. I would think that they would either go for a weapon mode or something that would transform into a wing for Bruticus's chest. Hard to say. As for Groove, he is not all that futuristic, he looks like a more of a custom bike. Hot Spot is by no means futuristic.

Im fine with updated versions of our old favourite characters, it keeps the 'Classics Series' vibe alive and definitely kickin'!![]()
Its fun to think that someone, somewhere possibly has all the intended Combiner Wars figures/prototypes and have created so many variations of the planned, rumoured and yet to be Gestalts in the name of 'work'!
I have just took a quick look at Seibs gallery for CW Blackjack. Hold up, wait a minute... does this mean if I want Menasor to wield his iconic big sword I need to buy a BJ for the handle/hilt?

Also not many on here have said they wanted earth modes and don't forget that this line has an IDW slant

It does have tabs for...something, now:
My money is either a chestplate add-on or a hilt detail for his BFS (Big freakin' sword)
