Japan beat you to it :) Look up Comperian and Autobot Super Scramble on TFWiki.

You forgot Abomenaticus, Destronon Super Scramble, and Scramble 7. Takara kinda went wild with this a bit.

It wasn't necessarily Takara's doing, but the crew of TV Magazine needing some filler material and deciding to fool around with the toys. Same principle as Sixshot's Wingwolf, Black Zarak's Dakatsu and Overlord's Super Jet modes: invented by producers of the media, not Takara.

I guess it's because Powerglide's not part of the gestalt itself.
Or maybe they already confused him for one. Not like he doesn't fit in.

I kinda wish he was, though. As it is Alpha Bravo sticks out like a sore thumb; the Aerialbots/Superion are jet-jet-jet-jet-copter, could use another not-jet.
Then retool the 2 jets into the other 2 jets down the line or something.

I know IDW killed him off as basically a disposable redshirt, but I think it'd be a cool re-use for the mold, and having Superion dual-wielding would be nuts

Exactly. It seems that, like the Energon Combiners, the ports are ratcheted for extra stability.

You miss the point of a forum.

If you don't like reading an opinion of someone else maybe you should not visit any? I don't want to start a discussion like you are doing right now. You don't have to talk me over i already made up my mind.

In G1 the Aerialbots were all planes, there you go. It looks odd to have one helicopter in the midst of this group.

To me all these look very plain (no pun intended). In comparison to say the classic seekers, they had more detail and paint apps than these. If you look at the pictures that we have already seen of these figures you will notice a lot of hollow parts. Like with all transformers there are bound to be some hollow areas because of transformation, but there is no reason for parts to be hollow if there is nothing that goes into them while you transform it. On the seekers you needed the open forearms to be able to store the hands in them, but there is no reason to have open areas in legs and the back of arms in these figures. If Hasbro does this to save on cash they should consider making their packaging more compact that would be more cost effective. Also on these Aerialbots they could have used the same basic body mold and then added the wings and such. Yet again more cost effective than hollowing out the figures.

A forum is an online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages. So yeah, not missing the point.

I'm absolutely fine with reading opinions. However most of what you were typing were laid out as facts and I was proving them wrong. I never attacked any of what you typed that were actually opinions. I'm also not trying to convince you to like something you don't. I'm just showing how everything you have been saying about these new figures have been happening for over a decade and that it's only of late that it seems to be a problem to people. People seem to be double standardizing these new figures. Every bad thing these figures are claimed to be doing has been done by figures that most claim to be better. I used many examples of this as well.

As many have already pointed out, these aren't the G1 Aerialbots. Where does it say that every time Hasbro updates a G1 character that the alt modes and colors have to be a 100% faithful representation to toys and designs that are 25-40 years old? These are their characters, they can do whatever they want with them.

Classic seekers are some of the most boring molds that Hasbro has ever produced detail wise. Paint wise, other than Acid Storm, no classics seeker appears to have any more paint than the Aerialbots. You keep on referring to these hollow parts as a point of contention. Other than the insides of their thighs and biceps and maybe their forearms, there are no other hollow parts. I already pointed this out but that is a practice that has been around for many many years now regardless of if it's a cost cutting measure. Beast Wars Dinobot's shins are needlessly hollowed out in the back as are his biceps and forearms on the sides. Beast Wars Magnaboss Silverbolt's biceps, thighs and shins are hollowed and probably Prowl's are as well. RID's Bullet Train team all have hollowed out biceps and some of their thighs even despite how small these pieces are. Classics Prowl's biceps and thighs are hollowed out. Beast Machines deluxe Jetstorm's shins. The point I keep making is that not a single one of these new figures are any more needlessly hollowed out than figures going back almost twenty years. Why is it only now that people have a problem with it?

When Energon was the current line and they had wanted to finish out the line with combiners they had two options. Either make two full teams each with five unique molds at a total of ten figures. Or they could make three complete combiners with three unique molds each for a total of nine figures and one left over as they had ten more toys to make. We all know which way they went and we got three pretty good combiners out of it. However everyone complained when they did that as they wanted three complete combiners with five unique molds each between them at a total of fifteen molds. At that time they went the route of giving us more by reusing molds instead of giving us less by using all unique molds. This time around Hasbro is going the other route by giving us two full combiners with five unique molds each and still people will complain. The point being is that people will complain about Hasbro no matter what they do anymore.

You don't like them, fine. However don't list off inaccuracies or double standardizing as your reasoning. Especially if you don't want a discussion about it. If you only wish to spout off your opinions and not have anyone retort. Then maybe visiting forums aren't right for you.

Offroad on the other hand looks nothing like WildRider in bot mode... that is a bummer.

And if they repaint the Stunticons into that Autobot combiner with Optimus, like that G1 episode.

I'd buy those 2 repaint sets just as hard as I'm going to buy the first two combiner sets.

Altmode looks good, robot mode great and combiner mode also very good!

Well.. Here's my 2 cents.

I've been collecting TFs since 2009. Every year I made a list of the ones I wanted, with about 10 or 15. However I would end up getting about... two...

After I spent 2013 collecting Gundam model kits, 2014 was the year I came back to Transformers. And personally, it was the best year ever to come back to the franchise. For the first time I got more than half of the ones I had on my list and I have to say that Hasbro is doing a damn fine job. I know they are smaller, with more hollow parts and less paint apps. However Has is managing to put them out with so much quality and, actually, love for the franchise.

When CW was anounced and the first pics of Menasor and Superion came out, I was just so excited. I live in Brazil and here things are way too expensive. Importing is even worse. Everything has it's price times 2,5 plus abusive shippping rates and customs taxes asdd 60% of the value. So a $90 third party bot ends up at about $400+ here after all of it. So having CW is an alternative, and a darn good one at that...

Prowlastator is pre-existing in the comics and Prowl himself is a "classic" character, so the situations are a little different.

If they put out a Slingshot later, as a possible repaint of Firefly with another head I probably will end up getting him. It would be cool to have more avriety in the same combiner.

Also, never noticed how much that altmode looks like a spaceship. It even has small windows to the side. Probably conna become Blast-Off, which I'm actually surprised about, taking scale in consideration...
