Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Discussion Thread
Re: Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Discussion Thread
As a stand alone figure Prime doesn't look half bad.
In combined mode however, he doesn't look very good.

You know, to further the Energon Optimus homage, the Spark of Combination-esque design inside of Ultra Prime's chest just might be the Enigma of Combination.

Nice catch! I can see it being the case. Now does he have it to protect it, have it to fight the threats or is he an unwilling test subject. Can't wait to find out

Sorry to burst any of your dreams but wouldn't there be a bigger chance if anything energon related on a 15th anniversary? Though energon wasn't much of a success was it? (a genuine question, I don't know how well energon did compared to its brethren)

That pic with Windcharger attached shows the combined body actually having more of a mid-torso / gut section than the other pics that make it look like it goes immediately from chest to legs. This gives me hope that Menasor will actually look alright despite the already established crazy proportions of arm lengths.

[quote="Va'al"]Tired of wave of Combiner Wars figures yet? We surely hope not, as blacklai from TFND shares another figure from the lineup - Voyager Optimus Prime! Fancy features include: probably readapted mold from upcoming Motormaster figure, two guns and can also combine with Deluxe figures to form Ultra Prime! Check out the images below, including a roundup of wave 1 figures.

I am not sure if anyone commented on the fact that all the combiner wars toys are listed as ages 8 and up. I like that Optimus does not have a ton of visible hallow areas all over him.

Naturally. That's the highest tier of Hasbro's three targeted age groups for Transformers:padfoo wrote: I am not sure if anyone commented on the fact that all the combiner wars toys are listed as ages 8 and up.
- Rescue Bots: Ages 2 and Up
- Robots in Disguise (the simplified toys, not the whole 2015 line): Ages 4 and Up

So basically, Optimus (and presumably Motormaster) can combine with literally any Transformer? That's awesome.
Wouldn't surprise me if it's been tooled especially for prime, allowing for a combination that motormaster can't do.
Out of those pictures I personally like the thunder cracker one, it also makes sense given the story so far.
I like the Thundercracker combination as well I just cannot see how these combos will make sense in the comics. The characters really don't have special abilities like they did back in the old days. What does the extra character bring to the table, and how will this play out in the comics. It seems like Thundercracker and Windcharger are just there<

Speaking of what Takara-Tomy might do to touch up the CW Optimus Prime mold, here's what I'm hoping: They'll cover up some of the bare gray plastic with red or blue paint as needed. The feet should be blue. They also need to paint up some of the obvious bare spots on the cab mode with red. Some appropriate blue and yellow detailing on the pelvis would help. Also, I'm curious as to if the biceps can be rotated at all. I'd leave the grill gray (or painted metallic silver), but do the sides in red and rotate them 90 in robot mode to give a better G1 "all red arms" look to the figure.

Takara's got it easy with what they have to do to the combiner chest. They just have to make the entire chest covered in one color: Silver chrome!Wolfman Jake wrote:shajaki wrote:what i dont like it how the open chest is barren of paint apps. hopefully takara fills in those spots, because theres some great details in that sculpting.

A $25 dollar toy with 4 deluxes worth of add-on parts would probably put it in the leader class price range.
