Mirage looks cool in that picture, but in person it doesn't look quite as good. I tried it. Looks like he's wearing a baby carrier.
I don't think he would transform correctly if you swapped the arms, but he certainly would if you just swapped the hands.
I like him the way he is. Makes him stand apart from his other incarnations, but I have always liked his car kibble breast plate. One of my fav designs from back in the day.

I personally like Mirage the way he is. He does look like a baby carrier in that pose  and the arms cannot be swapped without messing up the transformation, but the hand could be switched! :BOT:

I have been into transformers since 1984.
While I love G1 I also love new innovations and takes on the characters.
I prefer official Hasbro releases of stuff for the most part
I'm not a huge fan of Japanese original Transformers media or designs.
It's easier for me to say which are my LEAST favorite toy lines: Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise.

How about a list for the list maker? :D
From most fav, to least.
1. Mirage
2. Prowl
3. Sunstreaker
4. Ironhide (although the mold is still one of my favs from the line)
But my question is, how do you feel about Prowl with another police car transformer already using the same mold? I know you said streetwise was the best use of the mold so far, has Prowl beaten that? And does either deco or use of the mold become redundant a bit?
This whole line is chalk full of redundancies. I'm over it. And this is coming from a collector who avoids to many repaints. For me this line is about the gimmick so I really don't mind. Prowl looks really good. I am no G1 purist, except maybe when it comes to the Datsun brothers, but this mold is working for me. Streetwise is great, and I really like his head sculpt, but the Datsun head sculpt is my favorite of all time. So on that alone, he just nudges Streetwise over a notch.
The mold looks really good in this deco, and the paint is nicely applied. Plus prowl and Streetwise can now walk the beat together keeping the mean streets free of crime.

Your pics show me how amazing that universe Sunstreaker was and how smart that mold was.
To me the Classics Sideswipe/Sunstreaker mold's use of foresight to achieve two distinctly different results from the same figure is one of the smartest designs Has/Tak has ever developed. I do like this CW alt mode better. If nothing else it looks more like the '80s Countach the character originated from. One thing I like about the CW Sunstreaker is the bottom heaviness and bulk of his legs reminds me of the G1 toy and how clunky his legs were. Except now he has knees! ;)^

And as for Ironhide, I am not a big fan of either of those. They can easily coexist since they are very different takes, but while Prowl totally screams Prowl to me, that Ironhide looks more like the Arms Micron version than the Ironhide I know
As much as the Classics Hide is disliked, I've never hated him. His alt mode is a mess, as is his transformation, but IMO his bot mode saves the day. He just looks so dam BAD ARSK!!! This CW Hide just seems scrawny, and the head sculpt is kind of weak. He makes a fantastic arm or leg though.
(though I am totally cool with that alt mode).
Agreed. What's tougher, a pick'em up truck haulin' a half ton of concrete mix to a work site, or a mini van shuttling a bunch of tweens to a soccer game?

I will admit, I am really starting to feel the mold fatigue from this line, but this wave of deluxes and wave 1 Prime fulfills a childhood dream. I used to lay my G1 Autobots out on the floor on their backs and configure them into an Autobot Combiner. I would even use my brothers Predaking feet and fists to complete the puzzle. I am elated that that combiner can now stand up, and fight the good fight!

I like them for the crisp deco's each brings to the table (one of the reasons axe-murderer is one of my favorites ;) ) Mirage and sunstreaker just feel so refreshingly different (I imagine I'll be saying something similar when Hound comes out) to all the whites, reds, and muted colors we've gotten so far - plus mirage pulls off that mold so nicely.
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

I would at least cobble a set of autobros together out of the two waves, just as an auxiliary team for Sky-Awsomeness - I have to imagine that there are at least 4 of the 8 you could want, and then just live with the multi-colored hand-foot guns.

Thing is, I wanted to do that with Streaker, Mirage, hound and Trailbreaker to make a lost light team with cyclonus, but smokescreen is a lost lighter too, and Wheeljack looks cool and the reviews have made prowl and ironhide look very good too. I'm at a loss. Maybe swap mirage and wheeljack, put one on cyclonus and the other on sky lynx :BOT: who knows at this point. my mind needs made up
