THAT'S AMAZING. How did they transform the legs like that?

They are using two Rooks for the legs. One Rook in vehicle mode for the feet/skates and another Rook in leg mode plugged into them.

Oh he really is. I have the hasbro guy on my dorm desk and he is awesome, just AWESOME! his transformation is very satisfying, the modes look really good, and the whole thing just screams of lots of detail!

Unpainted yes, but still very good and a very good mold. i am very impressed and pleased with it.

I already own the Hasbro version, but I'm also wanting to get the Takara version too so as to have full comic-accuracy since Hasbro's comes with Minimus Ambus while Takara's is painted with more comic-accurate details all over Magnus's body.

Once I have both in hand, I'm gonna put Hasbro's Minimus inside Takara Magnus.

I'm planning on trading the places of the two Ultra Magnus toys. While Takara Magnus w/ Hasbro Minimus is going to be my IDW Magnus, Hasbro Magnus w/ Takara Alpha Trion is going to be my "resurrected JG1 cartoonverse" Magnus since the Hasbro Magnus has cartoon-accurate white pants.

That first pic is too tiny to tell what body design he has in it, and those other two are of the wrong body design. He hasn't looked like that hideous 2009-2011 Ongoing design in years.

It's from the latest issue from MTMTE. Also aren't those all supposed to be the same contemporary magnus armor Minimus uses.

Magnus has white thighs in the 2009-2011 ongoing, then red thighs in MTMTE 1-28, but when the new colorist came in on issue 29, he has had white thighs since. those last 2 designs were pre-MTMTE, and the first was from MTMTE 44

I am pretty sure this is all the very same Magnus right? Also, that chest seen in the two bigger images is the same he has on this toy but in a different arrangement of the red and blue.

No... No it isn't.





This is the design the toy uses. The Nick Roche design:



And Takara's figure has all the little comic-accurate details painted in, like the lights on his shoulder pylons and knees, and the blue on his pelvis and upper shins (all of which Hasbro left unpainted on their release).

It is not the same design. Nick Roche came up with his MTMTE design while the other one from the 2009-2011 Ongoing was designed by Don Figueroa.
