steals_your_goats wrote:So for those of you who listen to the transmissions podcasts you'll know that they have a segment every now and again that's dedicated to rumors about upcoming figures. While most rumors are just that I think it's safe to put more stock in these ones since basically everything that they discussed on their shows had been eventually revealed at nycc. The reason I bring this up is because their last show had a few rumors that I don't think we've heard before.
1. There will be an astrotrain repaint of sentinel prime and a lazerbeak out of buzzsaw. This isn't coming as a shock to anyone but it was mentioned, so why leave it out?
2. We will be getting a Computron in combiner wars. Now I know that people hold true to the thinking of "what's been revealed is all we're getting", but according to their source Computron was supposed to be revealed at nycc but the mistake at botcon kinda screwed that up and they didn't want to keep everyone waiting on titans return.
3. The molds used for Computron will be a repaint/remold of a stunticon, aerialbot, brawl and the deluxe groove mold. I thought that was the most interesting one and that also points to Takara possibly doing a new mold for strafe since that seems to be the theme of this line.
So what do you guys think? I know they're rumors but like I mentioned previously this source has quite a bit of credibility from all the titans return leaks. Also over the next few weeks the transmissions crew will be putting out more rumors dropped on them by this source and I will post them here if there's any interest.

Does that mean that everyone that wants to complete Computron will have to get Scattershot, like, right now or face the future's aftermarket price when the limbs are announced?

Running changes have a history of occurring to single figures rather than entire waves.steals_your_goats wrote:I just had a thought, when Bruticus was announced Hasbro said that there'd be a running change where they would do 2 versions of onslaught. Well unless I'm mistaken running change usually implies that there will be multiple figures following that pattern. So I wonder if the scattershot is just supposed to be Betatron, not Computron and we'll get a proper one ( at least a different combiner head and better paint) on the next one.

I'd like that too (and in Baldigus/show-accurate colors rather than Hasbro toy colors), but I'd more expect to see it from either Takara (possibly via e-HOBBY) or Fun Pub, as I really don't see Hasbro proper giving due attention to Ruination. That Bot wrote:On the topic of Bruticus redecos, I'd like a Ruination in honor of RID over another G2 Bruticus.

That was a different Hasbro team (and they turned him into an Autobot made of Wreckers with Emirate Xaaron's head).william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I'd like that too (and in Baldigus/show-accurate colors rather than Hasbro toy colors), but I'd more expect to see it from either Takara (possibly via e-HOBBY) or Fun Pub, as I really don't see Hasbro proper giving due attention to Ruination. That Bot wrote:On the topic of Bruticus redecos, I'd like a Ruination in honor of RID over another G2 Bruticus.
But they gave him attention last time when they released foc bruticus.

william-james88 wrote:For all this talk of Computron, I highly doubt that he will get a retail release next year, as individual limbs. Hasbro said they would never release a torso without all the limbs since they found messing up with the first two waves a mistake. And they also stated (in what I still find a weird statement) that he symbolized an early version of Computron (). What this tells me is that IF Computron is released next year, it would be as a box set with an upgraded Scattershot torso (not much difference, but better paint apps for sure). But yeah, Hasbro already revealed the first 3 quarters of next year so there isnt space for individual limbs at retail (Bruticus first quarter, skyreign second quarter, titan returns third and 4th quarter).

Saw this on Reddit and thought it was pretty cool. I think this is another demolisher situation but still neat.

An unpainted gray resin head on a fully painted, fully produced, fully-released-at-mass-retail body just screams "fan custom"/"3rd party" head to me.steals_your_goats wrote:

If the rest of the figure was as unfinished as the head (as the Demolishor test shot was), that'd be a more compelling case for a potentially official retool.
Not to mention that Hasbro wants to avoid confusion with the term "Robots in Disguise", wanting it to refer entirely to the current cartoon right now, as is why IDW had to drop the name from one of its ongoings. So it wouldn't make sense for them to release a Robots in Disguise-related toy that wasn't related to the current Robots in Disguise series.
And, in all honesty, the Hot Spot head is already Optimus Prime-like as it is for Hasbro to feel it was "close enough" for them if they wanted to make any Optimus Prime out of the mold.

They didn't label Sky Byte as being from RID, they don't have to label this. Just call it some form of Optimus Prime. I mean, it's not happening, but that's what I would do.And, in all honesty, the Hot Spot head is already Optimus Prime-like as it is for Hasbro to feel it was "close enough" for them if they wanted to make any Optimus Prime out of the mold.
"Any" optimus prime, maybe, but not THIS Optimus Prime, one of only two who turns into a fire truck.

Sure looks like it would be "good enough for Hasbro" to me.![]()
Anyway, it's already been confirmed to be a fan custom, so all this talk is moot anyway.
