They could do a repaint of those as Wrack and Ruin. LOL.

Okay, those wouldn't be perfect, but those two need some love. I was surprised they didn't do a top and bottom set for them from same mold, slightly different and reversed green colors.

Now that Liokaiser is pretty much confirmed I'm going to bring up my collectors club tie in theory. I think we'll get the last three breast force members in tfss 5.0. Pete Sinclair said half of the set would be combiner wars and it's something that western fans haven't gotten in the past. So I think we'll get Leozack (aerialbot) Jallguar (swindle) and deathcobra (alpha bravo) as the combiner wars half of the set.

Wait, the club will be giving us half a combiner? Something super niche? Then it can only be.....

Also, I share your sentiment about the win-ness of today. Liokaiser looks awesome, as does what we can see of Computron (as long as the head is painted like Computron's, I don't give a crap if he has a mouth or not). Although, I had remembered you saying that you would be disappointed if they did the Technobots in the same style as Scattershot. Do you like how these are going?

Liokaiser looks awesome, as does what we can see of Computron (as long as the head is painted like Computron's, I don't give a crap if he has a mouth or not).

Yesterday I was worried about the head. Today with everything else I see before me, I'm with you; it's just not as much of a problem anymore. Besides, it's an easy fix from Nonnef or Perfect Effect. One of them is probably taking calipers to a Silverbolt right now.

While I don't deny the obscene lengths to which these molds are being used; I can't really agree with your statement, as it is a little off-base.

The only 'repaint' on the technobots is nosecone, strictly speaking, everyone else is an extreme remold of an existing figure. As I assume hope Scattershot is getting additional remolding - though the art seems to refute that - he cannot be thrown into the category of 'repaint' either. Strafe has clearly received a large amount of remolding, Groove is entirely new - for most of us - and remolded quite a bit to boot, and the same probably goes for lightspeed; not to mention the new feet and hands he is supposed to be receiving, I just cannot agree that this set a 'bunch of repaints', a bunch of 're-uses' I can get behind, but not 'repaints'

However, Liokaiser is a much different case - as he is at least 4/5 straight repaints (as we can't say for certain how much of sky lynx's shuttle/beast head has been retooled we can't label him a 'repaint'); but, to be honest, based on what Liokaiser is made of, and given the molds available, this is as obvious, and accurate as they could get with making him at a new size class, or cutting corners some other way, or, not giving it to us at all

WELL.. I am dissapointed. I do share a bit of Ironhidensh's sentiments:

I dislike scattershot's alt mode since the lazy underkibble only works as a cute (though lazy) homage to G1 Silverbolt, but I do quite like his robot mode. And I also dislike how tiny that drill is on Nosecone. It's a good thing we know very little about TF reproduction because if both these guys had wives, they would be very unsatisfied by their husbands' upgrades. BUT, it does make me feel better about not getting the Botcon stuff, since i can still experience the extra on this mold here. I also am extatic about Hasbro getting that groove mold. And this being a boxset means it will likely be deemed too expensive by parents and I can wait for a sell to grab these guys. Also, I am hoping lightspeed is the wheeljack mold since I am not getting wheeljack and could thus experience that retool.

So I kind of feel the same way about this set as the Platinum Dinobots. I am not enamoured, but still curious to the point that if I can get them for a decent price, then I would bite.

Not sure about Liokaiser since the thought of owning 4 versions of the Brawl mold kinda makes me want to stick my head in an oven, but I much preffer the use of that combiner head there than on skyreign. I wouldnt get Skylynx then since I find the G1 toy better anyways, so this would be a way to experience the mold.

I will wait and see for these. What I like best about all this is the prospect of Hasbro releasing deluxe Groove on his own. I decided to be the guinea pig in this CW 4th member experiment and I am glad to see some fruit come of it.

I know that a LOT of fans at this point are fed up with the number of repaints and retools so far in Combiner Wars, and it's looking like it's not going to stop any time soon. Is anybody like me in hoping that we may still get another few retool/repaints a la the limbs for Optimus Maximus and Sky Reign? It would be so easy just to crank out some new heads and a new accessory or two to make Sideswipe, Bluestreak, Ratchet, and Hoist.

I'm all for it as well. I don't really care anymore about having too many redecos and retools so long as the figure is cool to begin with. Between Combiner Wars and Dino Charge, I'm loving all of the reuses as they're all good toys. More importantly though, they're fun.

What ever happened to Hasbro saying that they plan on finishing sets of figures? They completed three seeker trio sizes (leader, new legends and legion/old legends) but nothing else. We're still missing Insecticons, we're not getting (as far as we know) CW Silver/Bluestreak, Ratchet, Hoist and others to complete sets and pairs that have already been started.

It would be great if they went deluxe seeker crazy so we had limbs for CW Galvatronus and Grand Scourge and for any other torso. Didn't Soundwave walk around with CW Optimus Prime's body for a while? Maybe him as a torso too with even more seekers. Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp, Sunstorm, Bitstream, Hotlink, Dirge, Thrust, Ramjet, Nacelle, Red Wing, Sandstorm, Acid Storm, Ion Storm, Nova Storm and Slipstream?...black Starscream?...Energon/Superlink Star/Nightscream?...one of the random other recolors or color errors getting a name?

I'd also be for a Hatchet form Skylynx (as it was my idea to begin with), Barricade from Prowl (as others have said), Crowbar from Breakdown?, Crankcase from First Aid and someone else (Grindor from Alpha Bravo?) to round them out as the Dreads. That Demolishor from Onslaught with some more Armada based limbs would be cool too.

I actually bought UW Defensor and not just for Groove or to replace the Hasbro versions but to add more limbs overall. I'm using UW Streetwise as a lazy Silverstreak (I plan on getting another Prowl to give him a "proper" head), I'm using CW Blades as Universe Micromaster Aerialbot Ro-Tor (I took the white paint off the sides), I'm using CW Groove as Gobots Night Ranger and CW First Aid as Ratchet (I plan on getting a head from Shapeways). I don't quite know what to do with UW Hotspot though as I like the paint apps on CW Hotspot better. I was thinking about Cybertron Mudflap but with a ladder instead of a crane, it just doesn't work too well. It would be cool if someone made a crane for it that could still do the same thing for combined mode but with a new head (I don't know of who though) but I doubt there's anyone else who would even buy it. If we do get a CW deluxe Groove then he'll be Night Ranger and Legends Groove will be Akiba Prime for all I care.

I just love combiners and always wanted my old non combining figures to be able to combine. So a lot of redecos and retools to make that happen works for me.

Yeah, I'd MUCH MUCH rather buy a new character repaint than a slightly different version of the same guy. (Bumblebee, Optimus Prime)

They've sometimes slipped in a Thunderclash, or other character under a generic name. I'm cool with that, too. They can call it what they like.

So if they want to put out a line of 8 seekers all under the guise of Starscream, fine here. I'd actually LOVE a set of Seekers to merge with Cyclonus. I'm thinking sticking with the purple and blue scheme would be nice, throwing in that lavender seeker we always saw in early episodes...

Indeed. They can pretty much throw a dart blindly at a color wheel and come up with an acceptable recolor for Bumblebee that most fans would like. They can then keep calling it "Bumblebee" if they think that will help it sell better than any of these: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/65356-9292-346. Instead what we get is another yellow BB. Then another another yellow BB. Then another another another yellow BB.

Pretty much the same thing can be done for Optimus Prime now as well but again, we mainly only get more red/blue or blue/red Optimus Prime repaints instead.

I already went on about Starscream and how there are at least sixteen different acceptable redeco/retools for the seeker mold.

But yeah, do an homage and just use a generic name that "will sell" and make everyone happy. Kids, or whoever it is who actually buys all the BB and OP repaints, will still get their BBs and OPs. But the collectors will get homages to lesser known characters who haven't been updated yet.

So I'm examining Sky Reign's head and comparing it to the Liokaiser art... They're both almost exactly the same, right down to the "collar" they both have (Liokaiser's is yellow), only difference is that Sky Reign is actually the tiger-thing's head, while Liokaiser pulls a Hercules-with-the-Nemean-Lion and replaces the lower jaw with the faceplate and visor. So, either one of three things might happen: there might actually be a piece inside the head that can rotate the lower jaw inside to reveal said faceplate and visor (unlikely, as if this is the case, then we would've seen it in in-hand images already); they'll actually retool that tiny bit to have that faceplate and visor (hopefully likely), or, what I'm dreading will happen; they cheap out and actually just leave it as is.

I wont because that head always looked like it was meant to be for liokaiser anyway. So I am glad that came to fruition. And even though it uses the same head with a face in the mouth, that is what Liokaiser is, so thats good.

Because if they used the same cars, planes and helicopters with beast deco themes they know fans would be super pissed off. As we now realize, if a combiner limbs cant be used 5 times, then there is no way they would finance it's creation.

As they now have an excellent combiner port system and have probably learned many a new trick from this line, I can only conclude that we will see the beast combiners, but not for several years

IIRC, Victorian's hands and feet could be stored on her torso bot, and the feet had an ANKLE ARTICULATION!
