Man, oh man does Victorion look awful.

As an aside I do love G2 "Fruticus" and the TRU Groove. Computron...not so much. Will end up getting the UW release. (Still gushing over the better Nosecone :ic$: )

I know, I'm just saddened by it.
I like the fact that the twins share a mold, even one as reviled as AB, and I personally think that Pyra Magna looks amazing in HotSpot's jammies.

The cars.. eh.. not a big fan of the chunky parts, but it works out nicely after getting used to them, I think. :D

Is anyone else frustrated by how few decepticon combiner teams we've got for scramble city? There are only the stunticons and the combaticons in contrast to the aerialbots, protectobots, wave 4 and wave 6 autobots, victorion and computron for the autobots. I want a decepticon combiner to fight with my defensor but i don't like the menasor torso at all, bruticus is almost identical to defensor (they share 3 molds!) and all there's left is cyclonus who doesn't come with his own limbs (takara's grand galvatron is way too expensive for me). The only thing I can think of is to combine cyclonus with either the stunticon or the combaticon limbs. They look fine in pictures but still it's weird...If only onslaught had a different mold from hot spot or they released more decepticons limbs... instead of the wave 6 autobots for example... :-x

TBH, Onslaught is remolded from Hot Spot to such an insane extent that literally nothing about their torso modes resemble each other aside from the thighs.
Plus Rook and Swindle don't really look alike.

Don't forget we have a new Decepticon Combiner heading our way: Liokaiser. True, all redecos/retools, but at this stage in the game, it's the best we'll get.

Well I mean, I guess the thing with that is... there were just always more Autobots than Decepticons in G1. This is most evident in the original 1984 toy line-up; excluding the cassettes and mini-bots, there were 11 autobots to 5 decepticons. And 3 of those decepticons were the same figure in different colours.
That sort of thing continued on into 1985 (31 Autobots to 19 Decepticons) and 1986 (31 Autobots to 27 Decepticons) - the Decepticons' ranks were only really bulked out by Combiner components, and since CW was only focusing on pre-1987 Combiners and characters it's easy to see why the 'cons fall short here. The Decepticons have always been the minority, simple as that - it's why it's so much easier to remember their full ranks than the Autobots.

Yeah, mine has floppy arms and can't grip most weapons too. Pretty disappointing considering how much I drove around trying to find the Combaticons.

Sad, probably will have to get the Takara Blast Off due to this abomination. I had hopes for this Blast Off. Hopefully I can find a separately sold Blast Off.

:MAXIMAL:

Sounds like the random qc issues that plagues many a figure, maybe try getting another one, or putting some thing on to tighten up the ratchets :-?

Meanwhile, my Blastoff is so ridiculously tight I'm afraid to rotate his arms because it's going to damage the plastic holding his forearms on the elbow joint. The forearms can now wiggle a bit from trying, but their ratchets are still amazingly tight, so yeah :/ don't get me started on trying to move the shoulders up and down

To be fair four (forgot about monstructor) of the decepticon combiners are animal based (and monster based) CW just wasn't set up for that, especially with the way the line was sold. All we can do is hope that they arrive in the future.

I'm still hoping for titan class predaking

Titan Class...? Really? I could kind of get it for Devastator with him being the first Combiner and all, and they seemed to be going for a bigger size class for whatever reason for Season 1 Decepticons (Megsy, Seekers, Soundwave all got leader class releases with Soundwave having all five of the original Cassette partners; it even coincidentally coincides with MP Shockwave) and the fact that he is the first combiner and the size really pays homage to the respect and magnitude he commanded back in 1985, but if we're getting a Predaking out of Generations, I would really rather it scales with the rest of the combiners. It'd be nice to pay £100 for that rather than £500 for a third party version.

Well I mean, if we're gonna get into G1 toy sizes; Metroplex was the same size as Powermaster Optimus, Blaster was bigger than the original Optimus, and the Combiner limbs were downright tiny. Hell, Devastator was iirc smaller than the Scramble City dudes.
In some fiction I'll give you, but even then he's only just bigger. Nothing significant enough to make him a Titan which is absolutely ginormous compared to CW Superion, Defensor etc.

It is a bit frustrating that there aren't more Decepticon combiners in the two current lines.
But I understand why.
I just hope we get Abominus, Piranacon, and Predaking sometime sooner than later.
I think there's a chance that these beast-type alt modes would be appealing to kids.
Like others we now have, these characters are long overdue for proper updating.
Which probably makes them really appealing for some collectors, and at least mildly appealing for the rest.

In terms of Predaking, as much as I like the idea of larger combiners like Titan class Devastator,
it seems to make sense that Predaking will be the same size as the others we already have (and future releases).
Mainly because there's a chance, and imo a good chance, that for these Decepticon combiners to happen, molds will still be re-used. And re-tooled. And re-used. And re-tooled.
At this point, as long as there is enough re-tooling and at least new molds when really necessary, I'll take a non-Titan sized Predaking if it helps make the others possible--
The greatest good for the greatest number.
