Takara never made any new molds for their counterpart lines to Hasbro's Classics, Universe, and Generations lines (Henkei! Henkei!, United, Generations, and Legends all used existing molds).

Not new molds, but they have done remolds like Ratbat and Cloud Brawn so maybe an entirely new figure is out of the question, but remolding an existing jet isn't.

Ratbat and Cloud Brawn are both based on pre-existing tooling that originally went unused: Ratbat used the Gen. Scourge mold's alternate head (alternate meaning it's "built into the mold" like the regular head), and Brawn is based on the canceled "GDO" release.

Was scourge the. Designed to be re-tooled into rat bat and at some point it was canceled stateside?

We can only assume those were the original plans. Like many pretools (pre-planned retools), the alternate head was visible in the original's instructions, in this case Scourge's, but ultimately not used. Nowadays a good majority of molds have alternate parts, making the overall process more efficient.

I'd give a total list, but it's really long.

So what you're saying is that there's a possibility of the Firefly mold including a proper Slingshot head mold.

I didn't realize the Ratbat head appeared in the directions for Scourge. I don't read instructions.

Basically, yes. Now that you mention it, I wouldn't be surprised if, given the G1 Aerialbot limbs all transform the same way, we'll end up with two pairs of pretools: Skydive with Air Raid, and Firefly with Slingshot/Quickslinger/the dead one. Firefly using the Harrier instead of his regular F-4 Phantom form (similar as they are) leads to some credence to that. All he'd need is some new wings and a new head.

Do all the CW wave One legends toys have a 3rd alternate Targetmasters mode?

Remember seeing pics of CW Powerglide and maybe pics of CW Bombshell with 3rd targetmasters modes.

Just wondering if CW Legends Thundercracker and CW Legends Windcharger also have 3rd Targetmasters modes or not.

Also wondering if all future CW Legends waves with have toys with 3rd Targetmasters modes or not.

I don't think Bombshell has a 3rd mode. Unless I've totally missed it!

And I take it you mean Windcharger? Don't have him but I don't think he has a 3rd mode either. I think it's only Powerglide.

The upcoming blackjack will become Menasor's chestplate, so those that have third modes are less "Targetmaster" modes and more "Combiner Accessory" modes.

With that, the images with the Legends on Optimus Prime's chest are just people fooling around. The Japanese are especially known for that.

I thought those pegs on Bombshell's butt were pretty clearly pegs to hold him as a weapon. But, indeed, it doesn't say anything on the package. And when I just tried it now, the pegs are a tad undersized and slop around in the combiner fists. Perhaps that was the original intent and the tolerances were off preventing it from fitting well, so they scrapped the marketing on it...

Or maybe we'll see something in the Motormaster instructions...

New development on the Devastator rumor.

I couldn't see any data regarding this in this thread so, from a friend that works at TRU in Canada:

List price $179.99 (Canadian)

So looks like Devy may be titan class after all? (or just smaller and given an outrageous markup )
He said there was also a listing for the Insecticons as a platinum set for $99.99 (good grief)

Note: We know the Platinum Edition Insections set is real, at least.

Also, $180 Canadian dollars is roughly $150 U.S. dollars.

I have an update on Devastator. Besides the 6 voyagers Takara will release each member individually as a MP figure since they're going to be MP car size.

Ouch, that would mean roughly US$300 for the set, more or less depending on who you buy from. I'll take my chances with Hasbro even if I have a pretty low success rate getting exclusives I want from TRU.

On the other hand, US$150 seems a little too good for Hasbro at US$25 a figure. I'll believe it when I see it, but I have a feeling they'll be the same as the Canadian price.

ehm, so generations figures in the MP line? or are they going to be actual MP's ? because there's a big difference in aesthetics and details between those 2 lines.

do note, i would buy an actual MP devastator in a heartbeat.

Devy being released in the mp line in Japan seems to be very strange. Or would they just be killing two birds with one stone since presumably they would of done a mp devy. I just can't see why they wouldn't release it as part of their CW release
