Courtesy of RodimusPrime87 CW Megs as an Autobot.........decals fail! The designers should have made them fit the chest piece.

Megatron still looks awesome though!

Nope! I'm in Alberta, and the Generations figures I picked up didn't have comics with them.

The proper answer is no, the more accurate answer is that we are not suppose to.

Here are three pieces I've bought but haven't opened yet:
Image
The Waspinator was bought at a Toys R Us in Surrey, BC.
The Wingblade was bought at a specialty shop in Vancouver, BC.
The Starscream was Bought at a Walmart in Burnaby, BC.

Shops that either send people down to the States or order via Diamond Comics (the company that supplies Comic and Specialty Shops with comics, and other items) can sell US released units, which is why Wingblade has a comic. Any major Canadian stores or distributors that order their stock from Hasbro Canada will receive the same packaging and inserts sold at the same stores in Quebec.

My local TrU had a full case of Deluxe wave 1 when I stopped in last Friday, so hopefully it wont be long before you see them.

Picked up Dragstrip and Silverbolt today. They didn't have any of the other deluxes. Can't wait to get more.

To be completely fair, most (if not all) of the box art and collectible cards for Combiner Wars are ripped straight out of the Transformers Legends mobile card scam game, which is also why they don't match the toys. They've served their purpose and the artists have gotten probably more than their fair compensation, based on how much money people are willing to dump into that game, so it's not this hugely disrespectful thing if someone doesn't want to keep the card, though I agree that nifty freebies like that shouldn't just be dismissed as "uesless" in a "why did they even bother" kind of attitude.

True. Ken Christiansen, Guido Guidi, Robby Musso and all the other artists that have worked on those images should be recognised for their work. It's fine to dismiss the cards for your own disinterest, but sometimes making a big show of it (especially after having a review of the box) can feel a little off.

Thats a good idea. I think the whole thing is detachable. We've seen it on his arm and in his hand. Does the gun barrel look like it telescopes in and out?

EDIT: Just looked at all the pics on this page. It does telescope, but in the shot of Megs(just above) that appears to be the farthest in it goes.

The more I look at the back end of that barrel, the more I'm hoping that it's hollowed out so you can just reverse the cannon around. That'll work for me.

Image

this is how I have Megaton displayed, you can see from the (out of focus) weapon that it has a hollow end, so you can have it as a traditional fusion cannon type weapon.

Ok so QC levels on these deluxe's I am a little on the side of caution. I let me kids play for a while    ... Within a few short seconds one broke off a tail fin (easily placed back.) Some upon exiting the packaging joints were exceedingly loose to me. Which any joints that are "already" lose time shows that they only get looser.

However when it comes to overall appeal they are hardly a let down. While they may be "shell-formers" for realistically what would you do with all the parts especially being a "Combiner." Probably take a lot of time and money to get that which is why we see such lower prices on these.

They really are a great G1 homage and curious to seeing them up next to a G1 figure (I am sure people have done this.)

Though, it was Shockwave, Wilder, and the Combaticons who dealt with the others.

Smart way to test the QC since Hasbro is hoping kids play with these too.
I just wanted to know what you meant by shellformer? I didnt get that part. I thought a shell former was a transformer who's alt mode was a shell or series of panels that you had to open up to reveal the robot. And that the robot mode usually has the shell and panels hanging off it instead of integrating the lat mode in the robot mode. Kinda like this:

I too like the cards. They're a nifty little extra with some nice artwork. And frankly, I prefer the cards over the comics since I'm getting the comics from my local shop anyway when they come out.

Here's his legs extended a bit. I have seen some others do this, but it really makes him a lot taller... And slightly more proportionate... It is a bit weaker, but its fairly stable.

I think if I can get his feet fixed... (Ex different feet...) might not need that degree of legs being extended...

Are you thinking of bending the knees backward, a-la Whirl? There are no ankle swivels at all, so I believe it would make it highly unstable. But, that is an interesting concept to check out...

I did flip his legs around to face "backwards" and it seemed ok.. But the extended parts look a little funny.
Feet mods are going to be a bit interesting, as each of these figures have different lengths in front. So might end up flipping them to the back even.

(I really can't stand the feet on these combiners thats my biggest complaint!)

The only other issue is that extended he stands to tall to be inside most book shelves... Horrible problem!

I'm cool with the regular legs, it just occurred to me that this extension would technically give it digitigrade legs a la Whirl or Movie Stars cream. Not tempted to pose it like that, just curious if it could pull it off.

Nice prjkt. Works for me! There's just so much ridiculously good stuff coming out at the moment, including a few Third Party figures, that I'm just going to have to put Megs on the backburner. I will get him at some point though.
