The best hunters learn to adapt to changes in the prey population. The toys we want are now scarce in their historical habitats. We need to migrate with them if we want our hobby to survive. Online stores are the new toy hunting grounds. Instead of struggling to find the figures you want, hunt for the best prices and deals you can find online.

Fair enough. That said, I just ordered CW Magnus off Amazon.

Had a lot of fun today on my day off. Trying to come up with the perfect combiner and testing stuff out. I am noticing how I really like certain molds but they might not go well together. Don't know what I will write for my favourite figure of 2015 in the year end wrap up. Will/can it be a whole combiner? Or just a mold? Or my own scramble city? Dont know, but scrambln' is fun!

I personally like the power arms mode for superion: rook and first-aid as arms, firefly and quick-slinger as legs; you should try it out. Did you ever get cyclonus?

I have neither cyclonus or rook. If ever I do get them, it will be only when discounted. I cant afford so many remolds.

Bummer, so you missed out on some of the best figures, and you can't even complete defensor? That sucks man, you have my sympathies :-(

I will complete him when Hasbro released their deluxe Groove, we didnt get a no from them yet. And if they never do, no biggy, I have an extra limb to give him. I will experience the Rook mold with Swindle.

Fair enough; I certainly hope we get bigroove in some capacity (that's not a technobot, but is groove). I personally love the rook mold, and can't wait to get swindle, he seems like an exceptional figure, and will be getting hound too. Well, at any rate, you should definitely try to get cyclonus on sale, or from hts, they ship to canada right?

It wouldnt matter even if they did since our exchange rate is in the gutter. So even at 20% off, it still wouldnt make up much for the exchange rate. And the shipping from US to Canada has gotten really expensive.

Cyclonus in Canada costs 30$ cdn which is 23.15$ US

Cyclonus for 20% off at HTS would 19.99$ US but the added shipping of 15$US minimum (they wont ship free to canada, thats for sure) would make him 45$ US which would be 58$, so double what I would be paying in stores. So for now, if I get him, it is on clearance in Canada.

ARGH!
So last night I saw a particular Australian based online website was going to have a restock of the Protectorbots, as I'm going to be getting the Unite Warriors version I still wanted to grab Rook, and given the lack of distribution that occurs when you live in regional Australia, I put my pre-order in.

Walked into K-Mart today, and they have the Protectorbots (sans Hot Spot) in stock.

DISTRIBUTION FRUSTRATION!

"But Burn, can't you just cancel your pre-order?"

No ... that in itself is a story on its own and not something I want to go into publicly.

On the other hand, Burn, I'm jealous your local Kmarts get anything worth buying at all. I've pretty much given up going to Kmart since, for the last few years, every time I'd walk in to see what they had, the TF section was always either virtually empty/nonexistent or containing only some secondary Movieverse line merchandise (i.e. - the items most people don't want for their collections like walkie-talkies or keychains). I think the last decent figure I recall seeing at a Kmart was a PRID Vehicon, which I had already long since owned (several of which, even).

It struck me this morning that the upcoming Legends Wreck-Gar figure shares a lot in common with Rung. Same color scheme, wheel on his back, alt-mode looks vaguely like a stick with a wheel/orb on the end, and his chest plate is evocative of the blue circle on Rung's chest.

I might paint his helmet's brow ridges white and use him for Rung in my Lost Light display. Let's just ignore the goatee...

So Ive been thinking about these new Combiner Wars redeco/remoulds coming out later, specifically the 'Masquerade' ones as folk have called them.

From the images Ive seen so far I feel happier with the original Classics/Generations versions, so I hadn't factored them in as figures I wanted to pick up unless I could repurpose them as a different character?
Since seeing a little more of them, in particular their silver/light grey hands/feet I had the idea that they might work better with CW Superion than the black ones in respects to them being closed to the UW white ones? At least theyre not black! ;)

If I pick up CW Battle Core Optimus I would think about repurposing him as Nova Prime but as for the appendages Im not sure yet.... :-?

Yes, mine does, and so does everyone else's, I believe; It's because the weight pulls the figure forward, and the detents in the hips have enough 'soft space' that it just leans forward on the detent; either that, or there is not enough pressure from the spring to hold the detents in place;

Hope this helps.

I just has a thought with all these replacement large hands for Combiners or for Devastator coming out I wonder if any of them could be adapted to work as a proper hand for Transformer Cybertron/Galaxy Force Leo Breaker/LigerJack as a proper hand for him when he's combined with Optimus Prime (Galaxy Convoy*).

*Likewise with Megatron.

It always bugged me that it lacked a proper hand and there is some holes in the inner ankles that the hand could be attached to via some sort of T-Bar adaptor.

Unfortunately they may still be to small - even Devastator hands.
