I played through FF1 several times but not enough to remember that part. I do, however, remember that in FF4, you need to give some gnome in the Underworld, a Rat Tail to have the legendary sword.

But we are kinda sailing adrift here.

I'll be getting all three, but the main draw of the traditional seeker trio for me has always been and will always be Starscream. Even as a child watching the original cartoon, I found his character most interesting among the Decepticons. Megatron always seemed like a total A-hole, lol! Am I the only one who was genuinely routing for him to someday show up Megatron and really seize control of the Decepticons himself?

And yet when I look at those pictures of Starscream he looks like a simplified figure aimed at the pre-school market.

I honestly don't see that since I own many simplified figures that are definitely aimed at the preschool market. The look and level of engineering that's visible in these images of Starscream indicate to me that it's way too advanced and complex to be for the same market as the many Rescue Bots toys I own.

Lower grade school would be a better comparison, but that sounds like a good thing to me since I was at that age when I started playing with main line Beast Wars toys. And if the Jetfire version is anything to go by, that demographic is sure to love Starscream. 8)

I know the figure is aimed at a "older" age base, but there's something about those colours on that mold that make him look like a figure aimed at a "younger" age base.

Other Seeker molds? Not a problem. Skywarp, Thundercracker and Jetfire? Not a problem. These colours on this mold? Just seems to make it look kiddie for some reason.

I'm sure once some other in-hand pics come out I'll see things differently.

Ah, so it's the colors you mean. Yeah, I can see the brightness of them evoking the bright decos of Playskool's products and such, but I guess for me it's the mold's engineering over the deco that tells me what demographic it looks to be aimed at.

Is it the use of eggshell white instead of light gray? Otherwise, the red and blue a pretty much par for the Starscream course. I don't know what else you could want.

I think the problem might be that visually, Starscreams colors are too primary. The hue of blue and red they used on the figure, based off of the stock photos, has no depth. The primary grey is a flat, and not the subtle off white color Starscream's known for. The Blue doesn't have that tasteful thickness or intensity to offset the bright, yet dull red on the figure. Also the red is to dull for the figure, it would probably work better as a cherry or candy apple red.

Agreed. I'll likely get Skywarp to go with my Thundercracker, and keep my Starscreams to these two.

Hell yeah, me too! That's why I really LOVED how Starscream turn out in the Japanese Galaxy Force (not the English dub, mind you). Smart, imposing, and actually went to a fistfight with a friggin' GOD. That was a lost, but still.

Also, he DID manage to RULE CYBERTRON in the comics! That is no small feat! I'll have to go and read that story arc someday.

Unfortunately I think I'm going to skip them. Evan after the reveal of that super sweet Sky Warp. I always get Sky Warp.
At first I thought they would be nice to fill out my MP collection. I only have Sky Warp and Sunstorm, but than they announced TRU MP Starscream. So that kind of put the Kibosh on that idea.
I think all three look really nice, and thanks to Jetfire I know they are fun Trnasformers, but this year is heavy on the bank account and I gotta trim the fat somewhere. I'll just have to stick to the Legends for my IDW style Seekers.

What are you gonna do Punch?

Agreed all around. This is a case where I wouldn't mind owning a tooling of that mold but I'd skip the seeker versions due to scale, especially as a deluxe collector. That doesn't mean I think it was a bad move for Hasbro to do leader class Starscream and Seekers. They'll go well with Leader Megs, I think.

But I think they'd get the most bang for their buck doing at least one non-seeker tooling of that mold for the Deluxe collectors who'd want one bigger bot.

I'm thinking a chest and head re-deco as Cyberjet Jetfire (who was always too small before), Jhiaxus, or Star/Wing Saber. None of those would be perfectly on model.

I think there's fuel for some good Cyberjet tributes right now, actually.

Leader Seeker as Jetfire. Cyclonus as Strafe. IDW Megs as Air Raid.

CW Air Raid as Hooligan (A NEW LIMB!), Leader Jetfire as Skyjack/Skyfall, FOC Seeker as Space Case.

In general, I tend to favor faction bent repaints because they stand out less on a shelf. Also, while Space Case isn't faction bent here, having him use a FOC mold on a figure you'd display with earth jets makes him seem more like a space plane. In each of these cases, wing alignment matches up more or less.

Yes. Example: MP-11 is the only MP Starscream to "get it right" and is easily the most desirable version of MP Starscream out there going off conjectural evidence.

I highly recommend him. He is fun and works beautifully with you Lost Light crew!

Have a question for those who have TT, do the wings swing back like Jetfire or static?

Sorry to drag something up from a couple of pages ago (still catching up on weekend posts with Botcon and Tokyo Show and had an extremely busy week at work so far). Fenrir, I don't think anyone answered your question here (unless I missed it, and I apologize to the one who answered, if so existing). TC's wings are static. Jetfire is more like F-14 Tomcat, TC like F-15 (though both in this mold more like F-22).

Hey guys, got a Magnus update for you!

So I discovered that Minimus actually "tabs" into Magnus in vehicle mode! Right behind the forward red uprights on his trailer, there are 3 grooves in his trailer floor on the lower level. they are also on the white piece directly behind it. It you place Minimus with the front half on the red part and the rear half on the white part, there are 3 "slots" that he sits on (1 in front, 2 in back) and these slide into the grooves, effectively locking Minimus in place on the trailer! And he stays very well too. And he actually looks like the sides of his vehicle mode are touching the trailer floor too. If I could upload a pic I would, but alas I have not the right equipment.

But for those who have Magnus: Give it a try. It works very well and it helps secure vehicle mode Minimus. :BOT:

Nice find! I certainly didn't know of this before? Did you double check the instructions to see if Hasbro thought to mention it? I found the transformation intuitive enough that I never bothered to crack them open when I got mine a few weeks ago.
