I honestly don't see that since I own many simplified figures that are definitely aimed at the preschool market. The look and level of engineering that's visible in these images of Starscream indicate to me that it's way too advanced and complex to be for the same market as the many Rescue Bots toys I own.Burn wrote:And yet when I look at those pictures of Starscream he looks like a simplified figure aimed at the pre-school market.

Ah, so it's the colors you mean. Yeah, I can see the brightness of them evoking the bright decos of Playskool's products and such, but I guess for me it's the mold's engineering over the deco that tells me what demographic it looks to be aimed at.Burn wrote:I know the figure is aimed at a "older" age base, but there's something about those colours on that mold that make him look like a figure aimed at a "younger" age base.
Other Seeker molds? Not a problem. Skywarp, Thundercracker and Jetfire? Not a problem. These colours on this mold? Just seems to make it look kiddie for some reason.
I'm sure once some other in-hand pics come out I'll see things differently.

Wolfman Jake wrote:I'll be getting all three, but the main draw of the traditional seeker trio for me has always been and will always be Starscream. Even as a child watching the original cartoon, I found his character most interesting among the Decepticons. Megatron always seemed like a total A-hole, lol! Am I the only one who was genuinely routing for him to someday show up Megatron and really seize control of the Decepticons himself?

What are you going to do with them in regards to what line or what set of toys they go with?
Are they just flat out too big for Classics?
At first I thought they would be nice to fill out my MP collection. I only have Sky Warp and Sunstorm, but than they announced TRU MP Starscream. So that kind of put the Kibosh on that idea.
I think all three look really nice, and thanks to Jetfire I know they are fun Trnasformers, but this year is heavy on the bank account and I gotta trim the fat somewhere. I'll just have to stick to the Legends for my IDW style Seekers.
What are you gonna do Punch?

At the Hasbro panel, they said that the shade of gray used for the Leader was chosen to match the shade of gray of the original G1 toy as close as possible, since they're under the impression that the G1 toy's shade of gray is really important to everybody.SW's SilverHammer wrote:The primary grey is a flat, and not the subtle off white color Starscream's known for.
The dub kept true to his Japanese portrayal.-Kanrabat- wrote:That's why I really LOVED how Starscream turn out in the Japanese Galaxy Force (not the English dub, mind you). Smart, imposing, and actually went to a fistfight with a friggin' GOD. That was a lost, but still.

Yes. Example: MP-11 is the only MP Starscream to "get it right" and is easily the most desirable version of MP Starscream out there going off conjectural evidence.william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:At the Hasbro panel, they said that the shade of gray used for the Leader was chosen to match the shade of gray of the original G1 toy as close as possible, since they're under the impression that the G1 toy's shade of gray is really important to everybody.SW's SilverHammer wrote:The primary grey is a flat, and not the subtle off white color Starscream's known for.
