Honestly, even though King Poseidon will be expensive, he's gonna be OK.
Like SS Devastator, he's gonna be spread out, so you can spread out the costs like a loan payment but without the taxes for time spent paying it off.
And he is so much beefier looking, he has inherited some heavier plastic and aesthetic to justify part of the price increase.

I hope his combined thigh joints are up to it, hungurr certainly wasn't

We can both agree on that.
In fact, I'd be willing to say that Inferno is the only PotP torso with good combined mode hip joints. the others were pretty weak. So let's hope Turtler's are much better

Yeah, inferno was noticeably well put together, and can hold a decent amount of poses with the ankle tilts; for all the money I'm gonna be pouring into king posiedon, they had better give him good plastic where it counts

I'm not feeling good about the Seacons, the Terrorcon limbs that were retools were floppy and couldn't hold together, cutthroat was the worst. Hun-Guff still suffered from the combiner lean that ALL the other CW torsos did. Piranhaking is going to be a floppy fiddly mess.

I don't see how Piranacon could hold a deluxe class figure in gun mode. I hope we get all six figures, but I don't foresee Targetmaster modes for these figures in a manner that Piranacon could hold them like a gun. You would need some pretty strong "clicky" leg joints in order to make that happen, and I don't think they would redesign the leg/hip joints from previous Combiner Wars-like figures.

Legends Class figures were already too heavy for some arms, Deluxe would be downright murder. In the silhouette, all 6 members are present, with Overbite (Rippersnapper retool) as the gun, so weapon modes are definitely possible. Maybe they're expecting us to have some stands ready? I know companies sell clear supports for oversized anime/manga weaponry.

Re: Transformers Generations SELECTS Series Discussion
Hasbro couldn't make this affordable in the states? This figure should not be a Japanese exclusive. Everybody that collected Combiner Wars & Power Of The Primes needs this figure to complete their collections. WTF is their problem??? I'm not really buying Transformers anymore because I can no longer afford them & this is the last straw. This is just plain wrong!

I'm pretty sure Piranacon just wasn't high on Hasbro's list of 'combiners-to-remake' and there are only so many molds they can do at one time. I will say that POTP should have probably skipped Volcanicus and the Elita gals in favor of the Seacon, however. That said, given the slapdash nature of the Hasbro Computron I think the post-Scramble City combiners ain't selling so well or at least are deemed as such. Its also worth noting Seacon never appeared in the toon.
However in Japan they did. Which is probably why this is a Takara initiative.

Is there a reason this can't come to pulse? Or do you mean that Hasbro would probably announce him at sdcc? Cuz it looks like they've only gotten 2 to the prototype level so far

This times one hundred. After Superion and Menasor the hip joints just couldn't support the weight of their own weapons, let alone Legends Class figures.

Hasbro might say something about the possibility of importing it, but don't count on any official announcements until the whole team has been revealed. Also note that if released state-side, they may keep their Japanese names like Star Convoy did.

Re: Transformers Generations SELECTS Series Discussion
By the way is anyone wondering if Super Megatron (if he does manifest past the prototype stage) is a headmaster still or if they just retooled him to fit the head inside the torso cavity (which iirc can be done with TR Galvatron)?
I skipped on Star Convoy (admittedly to my regret...) but I'm really curious about Super Megatron, in part because I'm like the only guy who ever thought TR Galvatron isn't an absolute pile of ****.

More than likely they'd retool it. The chest cavity is big enough and the way Super Megatron's head is designed, it'd make sense to remove the headmaster gimmick and just use a normal head

Gotta admit I'n surprise they went with the Voyager size for a guy meant to be the opposite to Star Convoy. If you look at the Ultra Megatron design and what they did with the Overlord/Sky Shadow mold for Dai Atlas I could have seen that mold redone as Ultra Megatron by reshelling it. The transformation scheme looks even similar.

Maybe they're saving Ultra Megatron to be done at the Leader class and are doing Super Megatron as a Voyager in order to let Ultra Megatron be bigger than Super Megatron.Skritz wrote:Gotta admit I'n surprise they went with the Voyager size for a guy meant to be the opposite to Star Convoy. The designs are so similar and also so damn niche I honestly cannot see even Takara do both designs. There's niche and then there's Super/Ultra Megatron.

As for engineering using the Overlord/Sky Shadow mold, I'm not insane its 100% doable:

Basically what you need is to, at the very least:
-Reshell the entire jet section to match the spaceship of Ultra Megatron.
-The arms and chest would need some new engineering to fold together a bit more flush, taking into account the new vehicle mode.
-Add a new two-part turret, which split in robot mode and would simply peg via 5mm port via light 'parts forming' like how Dai Atlas does.
