Sounds like a great way to piss off the dedicated fans that were willing to pay way more than Titan price now. Limited should stay limited.

They might see the clone pack differently, saying that enough time had passed, so a gift set of King Posideon could come out in an equal time frame so maybe 2023ish. At the moment though we can only speculate. I'd imagine that a boxset release is probably the furthest thing from their minds currently as they try and plan the next few months in this bold new world.

I would be very much in favor of that, yes. If the price hike wasn't outrageous.

I think they're planning just that, in the same style as the UW box sets. Which may means no Nautilator redeco and just the sword weapon, no guns or Targetmaster modes (not a big loss, really). That would bring the total price down a bit... :-?
So what would happen to Nautilator? Would he be just totally omitted? Or released as a separate single figure?

Totally omitted. That's what the original BWII God Neptune set did ;)
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1 (plus repro Victorion hands and feet?)

I don't understand your point. Hasbro is asking $25 for them just like they sold for in Japan. They raised the price for two clones by $7 more than two clones sold for at Walgreens, $18. That's not comparable at all to charging $150 for a box set of something they sold themselves individually for a total of $235. Imagine the backlash if they did the same with Studio Series Devastator.

I thought he was making more of a point about limited staying limited, basically saying that for the people who got the walgreens set M, they had to buy the limited edition boxes to get the other clones (or get the Takara ones).

Admittedly, I did get flashbacks to the whole Botcon Thundercracker debacle when you said limited should stay limited.

Age 3 and Up have preorders open for Super Megatron. So we Canadians can have it at the REASONABLE price of... 95$CAN plus taxes plus shipping.

https://www.agesthreeandup.ca/collectio ... -exclusive

I called it that it would be a 100$CAN+ figure.
Any Canucks going for it?

I just noticed that Super Megatron's legs still have the little Titanmaster pegs. It's a little strange that they remolded so much of the figure, but kept those

The Generations Selects manga hints at the Seacons getting BW2 redecos.

If I had to guess... I'd guess Sky Garry as an extensive Siege Shockwave retool (the vehicle mode is close including robot chest near the rear of the dropship) and Grandus as a Doubledealer retool (ER DD has a MM basemode) with some funky tabbing to allow the two to be towed by Star Convoy like the vintage toy.

In a more perfect world, IMHO, Star Convoy would have been a TR/Legends Ginrai retool with Godbomber retooled as Grandus. Sky Garry would remain a Siege Shockwave retool.

I would make Gilthor a heavy retool of the Siege Seeker body. It's articulated enough to pull off the transformations and was a form taken by Starscream.

I have to say, having the first 4 seacons, lobster-guy is easily my favorite of the them all; a great beast mode, and an amazing bot mode.

A massive pet peeve of mine is the awful juxtaposition of the zany g1 beast bots and the derpy, cop-shades-wearing bot mode heads, they just don't fit together for me, and I kinda really hate that look, honestly

Transformers Generations Selects Super Megatron New Images with Star Convoy

Postby D-Maximal_Primal » Tue Apr 14, 2020 10:17 pm

Thanks to a Tweet from Takaratomy Mall, we have a pair of new images to show you this evening of the upcoming Transformers Selects Super Megatron.

These new images show the Super Megatron figure compared to his arch rival: Star Convoy. Star Convoy was released last year as the first Takara Selects figure, and Super Megatron himself was teased long before that, meaning that fans have had over a year of anticipation for this showdown in toy form at last.

The images show us that, as anticipated, Super Megatron is noticeably shorter than Star Convoy, but he definitely helps make up for that with some significant bulk and lots of pointy ends, meaning that he sort of still stands up to Star Convoy.

Super Megatron is set to be released this September, and will retail for around $60 US. Check out the images below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Height-wise, the Titans Return mass retail Voyager class Optimus works and is even colored like Star Convoy (save for his lack of a silver forehead crest).

Thanks to the expanded G1 lore, Optimus's final G1 evolution is the ordinary-looking body he had at the end of the Legends manga Epilogue, when he and Megatron finally brokered peace together. ;)

Megatron, however, does get his final form with this toy, that being Ultra Megatron Omega.

If it's any consolation, the Takara Selects Manga takes place between the end of American G1 and Japanese Headmasters and has Optimus and Megatron become Star Convoy and Super/Ultra Megatron early so in terms of the Selects releases, these are their final (so far) G1 forms since this is a new JG1 continuity that splinters off at The Return of Optimus Prime.

It retains -- in theory -- prior differences like 2006 vs 2010 for Season 3 but is basically a reboot of Japanese continuity without all the detours.

Now... If you wanted to have a different Optimus who is contemporary to Ultra Megatron, Nucleon Quest Optimus immediately follows so you could use PM Optimus Prime's reprolabels on Primitive Optimus Prime.

It's the same JG1 continuity. It's just that Optimus and Megatron are their 2011 selves being given temporary new forms based on those that they will acquire decades later into their future after this current adventure of theirs is over and they return to their home time of 2011. And said adventure has currently displaced the two into the far distant past into a universe that existed before the Big Bang created the JG1 cartoon universe.

Seeing Megs next to star, the scale is a little disappointing. I like it when Megatron is bigger and maybe beefier then Prime, which has made it a shame that we haven't gotten a leader class Megatron in such a long time.
