Totally, utterly, bogus.

The Commander and Titan for Kingdom are said to be non-Beast Wars guys, Runabout already has an Earthrise number, Red Alert already has TWO Deluxe toys in Siege and Netflix, and "Tidal Wave" would be parsed as two words by Hasbro, not one.

And that's definitely the 1985 G1 mold version of Hauler there rather than the Earthrise mold.

I would say the hint of truth is that we know Runabout is happening. Blackarachnia has a 99.99% chance of happening since she's one of the biggest things on the Kingdom poster. Tracks will probably happen along with Needlenose since they're the last two from that Siege poll to not happen (we've gotten Mirage, Impactor, Spinister, and Wheeljack already). Roadrage and Hauler seem likely as does AOE Optimus (eventually).

On the flip side, Magnaboss seems unlikely based on other leaks. Tidal Wave could happen, but why now? Feels like fan bating. Red Alert would require a new Sideswipe and we don't need one of those. Who knows what Power Master Megatron is, I was just guessing, but it sounds made up. And wouldn't TFBB Skywarp require a TFBB Starscream first?

Of all of those, the points about Runabout and the leak info about the Titan and Commander are the big clinchers.

After all, Red Alert could also refer to:

And "Tidalwave" could be a typo or trademark shenanigans, and at least one of the ER Coneheads appears as his G1 toy on Sky Lynx's box.

But all taken together and with those clinchers? Yeah, bogus. Good thing, too - a Deluxe Blackarachnia would turn out really crappy.

Ratchet or Trailbreaker (for the weapon hand and vehicle silhouette)

She had better not be, because that just would not work. Because of the spider legs.

Pretty sure if we're getting a new version of UT Red Alert in any way, it'll probably be from Doubledealer's mold to go with the Hot Shot from last year, Hasbro is aware the fandom dislikes teams being left incomplete.

1. How do you expect them to make her then, with the only real options scale-wise being a Deluxe or smaller figure?
2. What problem exactly do you think the spider legs would pose for the figure anyway? It's not like anyone is expecting them to be Masterpiece-level poseable (unless you are, in which case there's your problem: we ain't getting that at retail on a character with as nonsense a transformation as a screen-accurate BW Blackarachnia, and expecting otherwise is likely setting yourself up for disappointment).

Emerje wrote:And wouldn't TFBB Skywarp require a TFBB Starscream first?

Could be from the Blitzwing mold to represent one/all of those Cybertronian Seekers at the beginning, either a retooling or just a repaint. Plus, it would finish the trend set by SS Screamer and TC being completely different molds.

This list is still absolutely fake though, so it doesn't matter.

1. There's this size class called Voyager, don't know if you've heard of it? :-P Yes, her main body isn't that big, but that leads me into what the problem is with the spider legs on a Deluxe:
2. MASS. Between the spider legs and the spider abdomen, her spider altmode has a lot of mass to contend with. Making her a Deluxe will either result in a titchy robot body to compensate. Or, more likely, comically-undersized spider legs with each set of four probably being one completely inarticulate piece.

I have certainly heard of Voyagers, yes. :P I've ALSO heard that so far the Voyager roster is looking to be:
-G1 Inferno (leaked)
-Optimus Primal (leaked)
-Dinobot (leaked)
-Rhinox (highly likely)
-BW Inferno (highly likely)
...and that leaves maaaybe 1-2 spots at retail, depending on the length of the line (and how many Earthrise ends up having for comparison's sake), but doing Blackarachnia at Voyager would thereby make Tarantulas also have to be a Voyager, since he's a head taller than her while also having spider legs, and I feel that even if there are the 2 slots required for both to be Voyagers, Hasbro has no intention of dedicating that many of the Voyager slots to just Beast Wars characters (the line is allegedly 50-50 of BW and G1, after all).

Also, people complained about Cliffjumper being too small to warrant Deluxe price already (which I cannot attest to, I don't own that mold yet), imagine the rage that would be unleashed if Hasbro released a $30 Blackarachnia that is scale-accurate and therefore smaller/shorter than the $20 Cheetor we know is coming, let alone every other Voyager.

Being a spider hasn't stopped the dozen or so of other Deluxe spiders we've gotten since Beast Wars from getting made. Plus she'll no doubt be a rather tiny bot compared to most Deluxes, certainly not taller than Arcee. And if you think the same folks that gave us that Arcee is going to give us the perfect Blacharachnia then you're in for a surprise.

Honestly, I'd be perfectly happy if a new Black Arachnia takes inspiration from the Animated figure in terms of transformation. It's not exactly accurate, but I think if they took that as a base, then improved it, maybe make the front 4 legs partsform onto the arms, then split into 8 total legs, it could work. Gives her the right silhouette, while also giving her a bit of an easier time with transformation.

Obviously that's far from the perfect solution (see Legends Black Widow), but I think it'd be close enough for mainline retail

That figure is a giant by today's standards, even the Legends retool towered over Slipstream and Nightbird. But borrowing and altering the engineering for a smaller figure should be fine enough.

Was mostly referring to the way the mandibles/fangs were handled in order to replicate her robot mode, at the expense of a stable looking waist. It's definitely a favorite of mine, but there are still issues with the arms, rubber spider legs, and from what I understand (I have the Animated version, not the Legends) the legs have trouble staying together which causes some issues when posing

If anything, I expect a new Blackarachnia to be either Deluxe or Core class, since she was the smallest of the cartoon Predacons, roughly Rattrap's size.

So? If they're not being MP-level show-accurate then I don't see why Blackarachnia and Tarantulas can't be moldmates again.

Maybe. But on the other hand, we still need a lot of G1s who would fit the Deluxe point whereas Deluxe doesn't work out so well for folks other than Rattrap, Airazor, and the cats.

...za? Smaller than Cheetor? Watching the show, she always came off as "the same height as Cheetor but with extra mass from beast mode the legs". That's certainly how it looks during their fight in "The Spark" - one of the main instances of them being together.

Apologies for the video artifacts. They're about the same height if you account for the bent legs.
From a toy perspective, I think hers' and Tarantulas' spider legs and abdomen add up to more than Cheetor and Tigatron's beast kibble.

Emerje wrote:Being a spider hasn't stopped the dozen or so of other Deluxe spiders we've gotten since Beast Wars from getting made.
No, but plastic austerity has kicked in hard since Animated. And I'm preeeetty sure Animated Blackarachnia was the last Deluxe Spider we got.

I was going to mention Core Class, but I wasn't sure how Zelda would react to that. Blackarachnia is supposed to be the same height as Rattrap and he's getting a core figure so clearly prominence on the poster doesn't matter much. Then again, Rattrap could get a deluxe figure later since Prime and Megatron are also getting core figures and I can't imagine it'll stay that way. It's all just guessing anyway, we don't even know what Core figures look like yet.

Also, are we expecting Cheetor and Tigatron to be different molds? That's something to consider.

Interesting list, the only doubtfully for me is power master megatron, tidal wave :( and magna boss (as much as hasbro will want to keep the name usage I can't see a non show Maximal or predacin being used in main releases).

Red alert would be weird with out a sideswipe but sunstreaker needs his bro as a not crappy siege figure so hopefully it will happen.

1. Dude, the list has been confirmed as bupkis because of the Runabout listing and what we've heard from a more reliable leaker.
2. How is SIEGE Sideswipe "crappy"? He's very well detailed and articulated, very G1 accurate except for license-dodge changes and the lack of a spoiler (because A. plastic limits and B. it would be in the way because of how his leg transformation was changed to avoid telescoping). And he's an Earth car wearing "I'm totes an alien car" stickers; he doesn't have alien-looking clear wheels or funky headlights like the Datsun mold (in fact, his wheels look thoroughly earthly and are a close ringer for MP Sideswipe's coin). If the windshield - the only thing left that I can think of - bugs you that much then just get the Reprolabels sheet. Or are you waiting on a version that doesn't black out the clear glazing?

1.We are still going to see at least half those figures on the made up list anyways.
2.So many ways that I've mentioned before and why I only have the mold as red alert (that I also think is bad -even worse than sideswipe) and it's nothing that stickers can fix.

1. Uh-huh, sure. The only guarantees on that list for upcoming lines are Tracks, AoE Optimus (eventually), and Blackarachnia in some form. Road Rage is probable, but not guaranteed. That's not even half.
2. What exactly are these ways again?
3. If you hate the mold that badly, why did you buy it and not the Universe/Generations version?

Di Bonaventura is not a credible or trustworthy source. And most fans do like the diversity push, thanks.

I'll not rehash the ways but I'll add a couple more things that I dislike about it:

The chest is too high making his head look out of place/too small even tho it isn't. Mine is displayed on a high shelf so that makes it even worse (good posing can fix it, but when a g1 figure that cant be posed looks good, a modern figure should look good before posing). I also like to display figures in alt mode next to my mps (my mp kos and official g1 reissues have literally cost the same or less than a wfc figure but rather than buying two kos I want toy and mp scale) but the car mode has issues too which may be fixable with stickers.

The crotch twist instead of a waist twist, people couldnt get over the below the waist twist on other figures -i'm like that with the swipe mold especially as it contributes to his Mr Men square block of a torso.

Why I bought him? I dont have the classics version and from the ones I've seen the deco prints are really realllly bad. I wanted the figure looking different to my classics sideswipe/sunstreaker which are displayed in car mode. Also buying and having red alert in hand let me rethink and cancel the exclusive G2 swipe set with out me spending more to have the same complaints.

positive thoughts on the ways that I dislike the red alert use more than sideswipe...could probably make some fake shoulder wheels utilising the 5mm ports and paint the unpainted cheaper looking white plastic to color match at some point. So

I'm all for highly unlikely earthmode swipe and red alert which is even more unlikely to happen given that selects tigertracks isnt a new mold. Gotta be optimistic some days of the week, usually just one Tuesday a month but hey.

Unlikely, the point is to save on resources when making them.
Yeah, and the fact that Selects uses brown cardboard boxes for its packaging leads me to speculate that, when Unicron comes out, he'll fall under the Selects label too since his box will also be brown cardboard.

I like to leave some toys in-package for display purposes and the Selects ones end up in a storage box because they don't display well for me.
