The Commander and Titan for Kingdom are said to be non-Beast Wars guys, Runabout already has an Earthrise number, Red Alert already has TWO Deluxe toys in Siege and Netflix, and "Tidal Wave" would be parsed as two words by Hasbro, not one.
And that's definitely the 1985 G1 mold version of Hauler there rather than the Earthrise mold.

Of all of those, the points about Runabout and the leak info about the Titan and Commander are the big clinchers.Sabrblade wrote:Totally, utterly, bogus.

She had better not be, because that just would not work. Because of the spider legs.Emerje wrote:And I'll be surprised if Kingdom Blackarachnia is anything other than Deluxe.

1. There's this size class called Voyager, don't know if you've heard of it? Yes, her main body isn't that big, but that leads me into what the problem is with the spider legs on a Deluxe:Nemesis Primal wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:She had better not be, because that just would not work. 1. How do you expect them to make her then, with the only real options scale-wise being a Deluxe or smaller figure?
2. What problem exactly do you think the spider legs would pose for the figure anyway? It's not like anyone is expecting them to be Masterpiece-level poseable (unless you are, in which case there's your problem: we ain't getting that at retail on a character with as nonsense a transformation as a screen-accurate BW Blackarachnia, and expecting otherwise is likely setting yourself up for disappointment).
ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:1. There's this size class called Voyager, don't know if you've heard of it? Yes, her main body isn't that big, but that leads me into what the problem is with the spider legs on a Deluxe:
2. MASS. Between the spider legs and the spider abdomen, her spider altmode has a lot of mass to contend with. Making her a Deluxe will either result in a titchy robot body to compensate. Or, more likely, comically-undersized spider legs with each set of four probably being one completely inarticulate piece.
Sentinel_Primal wrote:Honestly, I'd be perfectly happy if a new Black Arachnia takes inspiration from the Animated figure in terms of transformation. It's not exactly accurate, but I think if they took that as a base, then improved it, maybe make the front 4 legs partsform onto the arms, then split into 8 total legs, it could work. Gives her the right silhouette, while also giving her a bit of an easier time with transformation.
Obviously that's far from the perfect solution (see Legends Black Widow), but I think it'd be close enough for mainline retail

That figure is a giant by today's standards, even the Legends retool towered over Slipstream and Nightbird. But borrowing and altering the engineering for a smaller figure should be fine enough.

So? If they're not being MP-level show-accurate then I don't see why Blackarachnia and Tarantulas can't be moldmates again.Nemesis Primal wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:1. I have certainly heard of Voyagers, yes. I've ALSO heard that so far the Voyager roster is looking to be:
-G1 Inferno (leaked)
-Optimus Primal (leaked)
-Dinobot (leaked)
-Rhinox (highly likely)
-BW Inferno (highly likely)
...and that leaves maaaybe 1-2 spots at retail, depending on the length of the line (and how many Earthrise ends up having for comparison's sake), but doing Blackarachnia at Voyager would thereby make Tarantulas also have to be a Voyager, since he's a head taller than her while also having spider legs
Maybe. But on the other hand, we still need a lot of G1s who would fit the Deluxe point whereas Deluxe doesn't work out so well for folks other than Rattrap, Airazor, and the cats.Nemesis Primal wrote:and I feel that even if there are the 2 slots required for both to be Voyagers, Hasbro has no intention of dedicating that many of the Voyager slots to just Beast Wars characters (the line is allegedly 50-50 of BW and G1, after all).
...za? Smaller than Cheetor? Watching the show, she always came off as "the same height as Cheetor but with extra mass from beast mode the legs". That's certainly how it looks during their fight in "The Spark" - one of the main instances of them being together.Nemesis Primal wrote:Also, people complained about Cliffjumper being too small to warrant Deluxe price already (which I cannot attest to, I don't own that mold yet), imagine the rage that would be unleashed if Hasbro released a $30 Blackarachnia that is scale-accurate and therefore smaller/shorter than the $20 Cheetor we know is coming, let alone every other Voyager.
No, but plastic austerity has kicked in hard since Animated. And I'm preeeetty sure Animated Blackarachnia was the last Deluxe Spider we got.Emerje wrote:Being a spider hasn't stopped the dozen or so of other Deluxe spiders we've gotten since Beast Wars from getting made.
Not expecting perfect, just hoping not for crappy spiders.Nemesis Primal wrote:Plus she'll no doubt be a rather tiny bot compared to most Deluxes, certainly not taller than Arcee. And if you think the same folks that gave us that Arcee is going to give us the perfect Blacharachnia then you're in for a surprise.

Never the impression I got.Sabrblade wrote:If anything, I expect a new Blackarachnia to be either Deluxe or Core class, since she was the smallest of the cartoon Predacons, roughly Rattrap's size.

1. Dude, the list has been confirmed as bupkis because of the Runabout listing and what we've heard from a more reliable leaker.blackeyedprime wrote:Interesting list, the only doubtfully for me is power master megatron, tidal wave and magna boss (as much as hasbro will want to keep the name usage I can't see a non show Maximal or predacin being used in main releases).
Red alert would be weird with out a sideswipe but sunstreaker needs his bro as a not crappy siege figure so hopefully it will happen.

2. How is SIEGE Sideswipe "crappy"? He's very well detailed and articulated, very G1 accurate except for license-dodge changes and the lack of a spoiler (because A. plastic limits and B. it would be in the way because of how his leg transformation was changed to avoid telescoping). And he's an Earth car wearing "I'm totes an alien car" stickers; he doesn't have alien-looking clear wheels or funky headlights like the Datsun mold (in fact, his wheels look thoroughly earthly and are a close ringer for MP Sideswipe's coin). If the windshield - the only thing left that I can think of - bugs you that much then just get the Reprolabels sheet. Or are you waiting on a version that doesn't black out the clear glazing?

Unlikely, the point is to save on resources when making them.
