I couldn't tell because of the blurry pictures I've seen, I was only able to make out Kickback, Shrapnel, and Bombshell, but the fact there's all 7 makes me excited. I'm glad the rest of the "Deluxe Insecticons" are getting new figures along with the main 3.
Took this off TFW:

Thank you so much, now I'm extra hyped!

The rest look like they'll retool them where it counts but I hope this isn't just an empty teaser like with Polar Claw.

To be fair, Polar Claw was originally planned to in Kingdom, it wasn't intentionally an empty teaser, they just showed art at Pulsecon that was made before Polar Claw got axed in favor of Tigatron being a Voyager.

Ah, okay, that's still unfortunate but that means I can still look out for more Insecticons! ;)^

Looks like they'll have to make some new molds if they're going to make all of the Insecticons. Chop Shop can probably be made from Shrapnel, but if Barrage has wings then he can't easily be a Bombshell retool. I wonder if they'd do a new body shared between Barrage and Venom? Swap the wings and bug heads, could be convincing.

From the digital turn-around on his Pulse listing:

Assuming this is accurate (which it may not be since it's just a render), it doesn't go that way.

Ah, well that's still better than doing nothing at all.

The Voyager budget could've given the lil Sunbeam and Zigzag some extra articulation but honestly I think he's pretty perfect as-is in my eyes. Some extra kibble compacting would be nice, I don't think this is really that bad.

I'm still excited to get him to complete my Targetmaster team, especially since this looks more like Needlenose than the old TFCC one I have

Another great set of reveals, I'm really excited for next year's Legacy line. I didn't see Volcanicus coming, and while it may compromise the individual Dinobots somewhat, I can't wait to see what the end product looks like. Hot Shot, Lio Convoy and Tarn look fantastic, and while I wasn't initially interested in Junkions I am impressed by Scraphook and tempted to buy him. If I wanted a full set of Junkions though, I'm probably too late to get Studio Series 1986 Wreck-Gar for a reasonable price. It's also great to know Armada Optimus Prime is on the way, I'm guessing he's next year's Commander? I do hope the Armada updates don't stop at Optimus, Hot Shot, Megatron and Starscream, I'd love to see Demolishor and Red Alert.

For me it was rather a bore fest and he only one that was even remotely interesting was Scraphook, the look of both mode was pretty neat and the built potential for parts switching was teh most innovative I've seen in a while.

Next up is Needlenose, personally speaking I think the aesthetics on the CW version look better than this new version. I also think the timing if comical because I was just speaking about a potential Aerialbots redux and this bot certainly looks the part for reuse there.

Needlenose is fine as a Deluxe IMO. Wish Hot Shot had been a Voyager though.

I have mixed feelings about Unicron Trilogy updates, esp. with the post-DotM shrinkage (to where if they're not up-classing them like was done with Override, and they're not, they'd have to re-do bloody everybody to have them all match again)... I suppose the Armada figures are what need it the most given the compromised articulation on so many of them, but OtOH the potential for them to lose stuff (like Starscream losing his transforming wing sword... Dinobot got his real transforming tail weapon instead of a separate dummy piece that's nothing but baggage when not in use, why couldn't Starscream get that kind of treatment?) is high so... :/

I would personally be more excited for a Commander-class redo of Overlord than of Armada Optimus, awesome though the latter is. But hey, maybe HasTak will do a more elegant job than FansHobby did. And we'll see the corresponding Jetfire and Overload before the heat death of the universe.

Alright, let's take this step by step.

Core Soundblaster is a must-get, and I'll probably get the Dinobots for the novelty of a micro-Volcanicus.

Breakdown looks great in robot mode but suspect in car mode. 50/50, we'll see what happens.

Scraphook is awesome. The aesthetic, the alt mode, the sheer personality this thing conveys... must get item.

Honestly, I can take or leave Hot Shot. I'm a pretty big Unicron Trilogy person, but this just looks mid.

All I can say about Needlenose is FINALLY. We've been waiting on this guy since Siege, it's about damn time.

Lio Convoy is fine. Don't particularly care one way or the other.

Oh my God, I won't have to shell out money for MMC Kultur now! In all seriousness, I'm just about in love with Tarn. Getting him as soon as possible.

After a strong first year, the future of Legacy is looking bright!

Once upon a time those dinos would be on my preorder list so fast it'd make your head spin. But now I need to be more choosy.

Tarn is a must. Now I'm glad I didn't spend on 3P. I mean, I like him, but not at those prices. Once I see him on Gamestop I'll nab him.

I gotta buy those Junkions. A shame about the Autobot symbol, though. I'd have preferred them to use either the Junkion one or none at all. I mean, sure that scene of them attacking the Autobots in the movie was a fakeout, but I like the idea of them not really being involved in the Autobot / Decepticon war more than them being recruited as a whole race.

Isn't his transformation upside down from the Aerialbots? Plus I don't think his wings can fold.

I'm really glad Hasbro gave us these versions of Needlenose and Spinister, it means I can keep my combiner versions with their team. Now I either need them to make a new Quake or figure out where to get that guy some Targetmaster partners.

Wouldn't surprise me if there was a Minicon set coming for the Armada guys missing their partners.

Perhaps a Deluxe-budget set of Minicons much like the Arcee/Chromia/Elita-1 set?

As for Quake's Targetmasters I just yoinked 'em from the Sparkless Seeker set as placeholders until we get proper updates. ;)^ (Either an updated pair or an updated Quake altogether!)

The CW Needlenose is a straight re-deco of Deluxe Class CW Firefly and that is exactly why I passed on him, wasn't impressive at all.

This new needlenose looks almost exact to his G1 counterpart.

Ill take something original instead of a straight repaint anyday.

Legacy Ev Poster Shows us Possible Commander Class Armada Optimus + Rundown of Entire Line

Postby william-james88 » Fri Sep 30, 2022 8:51 pm

Motto: "'till All Are One"
While we got many fun reveals today, the poster shown to us gives us even more. We can tie in what we see on the poster with what we know is coming in the Legacy Evolution line. So while we got reveals for 9 figures today, the poster gives us the first look at a lot more of the figures we know are coming. And for those unaware, we will list all the upcoming figures below. First, here is the poster, check out Armada Optimus Prime at the top:

Image

Since we know all the leader class toys coming this year (more on that below), that leaves Armada Optimus Prime to be the commander class figure for the 2023 line. The only 2 figures we don't know of at this point are the Titan class and Commander class. And and Armada Optimus with trailer sure fits the bill for Commander class.

That leaves the titan and the other clue could also be on the poster. If you look at the face in the middle, it was believed to be Tarn at first but as it turns out, there's more to it (that was also cryptically said in today's panel). It could be the face of the robot mode of this year's titan which is rumored to be the Nemesis. Of course, that's just a rumour. Now let's move on to what we know is coming and remember Pr means RERELEASE. As you'll see below, Hasbro has planned a release of 11 cores, 16 deluxes, 8 voyagers, and 6 leaders. Those numbers include rereleases from the previous year, of course.

Because by doing Skar, who I've been told turns into an ankylosaurus, and making the torso out of Slug and Sludge as we've seen, they've now set themselves up with the necessary molds to repaint/retool this set of Core Dinos into the Dinoking crew. None of the Dinoking components turned into spinos like Scorn, but they did have an ankylosaurus.

Oh huh, that makes a lot more sense with that in mind.

Scraphook, Detritus, two deluxe Junkions, and a voyager Junkion.

In the poster we have what looks like:
- An armored DMC-12.
- Half a tow truck combined either with two motorcycles or half of something that looks like the Tumbler.
- One motorcycle combined with the front right corner of a car (as a "sidecar")
- Another motorcycle
- Two distinct Junkion robots.

The Delorean is presumably one of the deluxe Junkions. The towtruck is either a retool of Scraphook, or more likely a Scraphook parts-mixed with the third deluxe Junkion. So does the third deluxe Junkion turn into a weird Tumbler-esque vehicle? Two motorcycles? Or what? And what of Detritus? A scraphook retool, or a pretool of an unannounced Hound figure, maybe?

A voyager class figure sharing the C.O.M.B.A.T. system gimmick would be unprecedented, so... hmmm... not sure - but if the voyager Junkion were a rerelease of SS86 Wreck-Gar I would think they'd just say so. On the other hand, not having some form of Wreckgar in a Junkion-themed line seems insane, so I have to think that Legacy Bulkhead could be retooled into Animated Wreckgar.

However, I'm also tempted to think the voyager junkion could be a deluxe-size motorcycle with a rider that splits into two core-ish class bots. That wpuld give us one of the motorcycles in the picture and the two guys small enough to ride on the other deluxe-class Junkions. And it would serve as a pretool for Armada Sideways and his minicons.

Below you will see nice hi res images of the reveals we had today from Hasbro Pulse Con. Preorders are already up as well from a variety of retailers. Hasbro Pulse also now has the preorder up for the exclusive 2 pack of Alpha Trion and Orion Pax.

The non exclusive toys currently up for preorder with delivery dates of march 2023 are. The images below show us some gimmicks that were unexplored today like Leo Convoy's armed lion mode and Hotshot's canon made from his wheels (probably because, as with all gimmicks, they are more aimed towards kids than older fans).

Weapon: Vibro-Axe
So Needlenose is almost literally just his G1 figure with articulation? I guess the budget for Sunbeam and Zigzag ate up what might have otherwise gone to deco or more complexity in transformation.
