I've gotten updated versions of many of the original G1's I've held on to as well as a few new characters, but there haven't been enough of them out there to amount to much outside of the kiddie lines. I've picked up less than a handful of releases since Siege and have given up hope of ever seeing a full-sized Monstructor. I'm holding on until the end of this year for the last of the Raiden trainbots, and that will likely be the end of it for me.
You can only dig up treasure in the nostalgia mines for so long, and that vein is beginning to run dry.
Totally agree…
And that’s by no means a complaint.
Another aspect for me is I decided a few years ago that I’m not going to have any new purchases stored in containers. Similar to “buying just to have more”, it’s stupid to buy something that gets packed/stored away.
I’m sure some can justify this habit, even if it includes getting stuff out every few months.
But I can’t justify that anymore.
Hell, even the 4 TR reissued Headmasters I bought that are still sealed are on display between a couple shelves (I love the packaging).
But yeah, the countdown is on.
A dozen-ish more figures over the next year & a half & then I’ll happily dip.
It’s been a decent run, but all good things…
