That would actually be awesome. And this one could be a pretool of Cyberverse Universe Skullcruncher.

Wouldn't that just be Titans Return Skullcruncher without the Titan Master gimmick? Since Cyberverse Skullcruncher just aped its design whole-cloth directly from the Titans Return toy.-Kanrabat- wrote:Nemesis Primal wrote:Maybe it really is alligator Optimus?

That TR Skully wouldn't work.
What would be better to use as a base is the stellar Cyberverse Ultra Skullcruncher. Remove the gimmick, fill in the hollow spaces and you'll end up with something awesome.

The current Hasbro team does not use non-Generations molds in the Generations toylines.-Kanrabat- wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Wouldn't that just be Titans Return Skullcruncher without the Titan Master gimmick? Irrelevant. They don't use the previous non WFC molds either, appart the single time they did for the first Buzzworthy Bumblebee 4 pack.
If they make Croctimus, it will be a brand new mold for sure. A mold that could be reused for Cyber Skully AND Croc Megatron.

I dont think they would reuse a Cyberverse figure, but studio series arcee was used for the legacy javelin exclusive if you count that as an exception

That's because it isn't Rescue Bots Medix, it's G1 Medix first introduced at BotCon 2016 as part of their Combiner Wars line up (as part of that year's custom class. Since he's G1 he doesn't get the Universe indicator. And yeah, I know the original has a Rescue Bots symbol on the hood and is based on the RB alternate deco, but his BotCon bio makes no reference to that, only recognizing him as an alternate member of the Protectobots like Rook.

I mean fine if it appeals to those who really need this repaint, and it being an exclusive doesn't affect the main line in anyway. It just feels to me like a lot of "Fringe" stuff is getting done that possibly no one is asking for over Bots that are actually requested/wanted and needed. Also, some of these repaints aren't all that accurate to the actual design/model of car so it feels even less desirable.

Though it does also show the figure posed with the front end as the chest which looks better to me, I'm actually not a fan of the Crankcase mold. So that's one reason it doesn't interest me, the second is that it's not a Protectobot I would want to have. I'd prefer the original team members Blades and Groove over any of them, First Aid and Streetwise just look too similar to Rachet and Prowl. Alt mode that is.

The packaging doesn't identity a universe, it just says
"Autobot Medix." The G1 characters generally don't have any formal universal designation, so this is as close as Legacy gets to officially G1.

The listing on Hasbro Pulse says it belongs to the series named "The Transformers", which is G1. It's G1 Medix, the same guy first created at BotCon 2016. RB Medix went on to have a completely different look, role, and personality when he made his fictional debut in the Rescue Bots Academy cartoon, which ignored his first two toy designs in favor of a whole new one. G1 Medix, however, takes inspiration from RB Medix's second discarded design (as that was the most recent Medix design at the time of BotCon 2016, since RBA didn't exist yet).Till-all-R1 wrote:So basically this is one of those "vague" releases with ambiguity as to where it actually fits? Walgreens seems to now only want medical or rescue characters, and the bigger names like Ratchet and Red Alert have already been done. So Hasbro's now having to look to lesser known ones like Minerva and Medix.Till-all-R1 wrote:I mean fine if it appeals to those who really need this repaint, and it being an exclusive doesn't affect the main line in anyway. Which makes me wonder why they never reserved Lifeline / Paradron Medic for them. Did Amazon really need one packed with Ratchet? Maybe they could have repainted the SS86 Arcee or even Bumblebee Movie Arcee at some point.

Hasbro had a good idea when they started with PotP, and carrying through WFC; changing the UPC code each year. I wonder why they dropped it for Legacy?
I've seen Deluxe wave 4 stocked twice now at my local Walmart (which also put out yet another box of G2 Deluxe figures for I think the 5th time now), but have never seen wave 3 in stores and barely online. Wave 3 seems to be wave that got short changed this time around.

I was surprised in that, since in vehicle form it looks very much like Scraphook, I was surprised to see it was almost completely different. The Transformation is new, they did reuse the windshield/windows to make into a shield but that's about it,everything else is different.
Its going to take more time to see how well these new "Armorizers" work with other bots, but the gimmick is always a fun one. I know the inspiration comes from Rock Creatures in episode 32 of Headmasters, as well as Rock Lords. Still with a name like "Infernac Universe" I'm really hoping there is some sort of Inhumanoids tie-in as well, especially since that series ALSO had a heroic race of Rock People. Look at past gimmicks however:
2019 - Weaponizers - A Wonderful way to integrate the Titans smaller components into the line, and give them their own personalities
2020 - Modulators - I especially liked the roab building gimmick along with the Shield Battle Masters for this year, but it also gave a new form and new life to the Micromaster Stations that really had none previously.
2021 - Fossilizers - All new characters playing on the popular Dinosaur motif. Complimented Kingdom quite well, and Id welcome mor ein the future
2022 - (Legacy's first year did not have a parts forming TF gimmick)
2023 - Junkions - More parts forming boths, but also fully able to Transform without taking them apart, also bridging out into a Voyager to accompany all the deluxes (and the combined mode) Definitely an awesome assortment of toys for this year
2024 - Armorizers - We have just one so far, but I can't wait to see more. As different as Magneous is from say...Scraphook, I hope when the others are revealed they arent simply templated off of other deluxe junkions, Id like to see some wildly new designs for "rock creature vehicles"
