Not sure how you would pull that one off, but you definitely have a point.
I dread seeing the resulting mess of a Prime Soundwave.
But I'm looking forward to the REAL character the pretool will be intended for.
Except PR does stand for Package Refresh, because they used the exact same labeling for the Kingdom listings that were repacks.sol magnus wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:AcademyofDrX wrote:I'm not convinced that the Soundwave release is in fact a re-release, the rumors are all over the place, and "pr" could be truncation rather than "package refresh." I can see Blaster being his own mold and them still re-releasing Soundwave from the Netflix/Siege line. I tend to er on the side of caution here. Will has already provided great reasons as to why it could be a repackage, so if we expect that but do indeed get different, then all the better. Prepare for the worst as they say.
If the PR isn't "Package Refresh", then wouldn't it be logical to conclude it would be Prime Soundwave, which opens up a whole other kettle of fish?

Fair enough. I mostly quoted you because it was the most sensical post to follow up on with what I was adding, nothing against you or what you said specifically.sol magnus wrote:Nemesis Primal wrote:Except PR does stand for Package Refresh, because they used the exact same labeling for the Kingdom listings that were repacks.sol magnus wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:AcademyofDrX wrote:I'm not convinced that the Soundwave release is in fact a re-release, the rumors are all over the place, and "pr" could be truncation rather than "package refresh." Hey, I fully believe it's just the Netflix Soundwave in a different box. I wasn't stating otherwise. PR should simply be "Package Refresh". I'm just gaming it out logically IF that wasn't the case (which it is).

Same, I was just trying to set expectations for anyone who, for whatever reason, truly believed this was prime Soundwave.

I have a theory for why that might not be the case.

TL;DR max text for the EAN text is 63 characters, so it could be PR is "Prime," or something else, cut off.
"Transformers Generation Legacy Evolution Voyager S Soundwave Pr"
The other thing is that I thought a package refresh should be a straight repack, which wouldn't make sense for Netflix Soundwave, since he included the tapes. I'm not aware of PRs where the package contents differ, so I could be wrong.
This is all speculation on my part, so feel free to dismiss it. I agree keeping expectations low, but I think there's probably more demand for Netflix Soundwave, so maybe that's misleading.

I know there are probably plans for retools already established, and I think to a point Hastak can give almost anyone the SG treatment...
But it seems like there are a decent number of one-off molds currently and with what's coming out.
Or at least enough to where they will have to shell-out some repaints/retools before we get too many more unique, one-off molds.
I had this same thought as I sunk-down after hearing we're only getting 1 Dinobot this next year.
When you think about figures like the Ark, Grimlock, Slag, and now Sludge, and Motormaster who are all unique and most likely one-off's.
Of course I don't know the "formula", but it does make sense that they're not going to give us Snarl or Swoop (or possibly a Prime Soundwave) until they start releasing some repacks as well as getting some more returns from figures such as the Galvatron variants, BZ, Shattered Glass figures, and retools/variants of SS86 figures.

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not... Could it be a clean version minus cassettes? Or maybe just with one?
I'd like that, and at the same time, that would almost piss me off.
My hope for those last two Dinobots is that both are leader class, and one ends up in the Legacy line so we get both as early as possible in 2023... On top of that, being in the Legacy line means no stupid mini pack-in figure, and maybe some blue flame (aka energon) blast effects.
Watch, it will be Snarl in Legacy, and he'll be the only one packed with a sword.

Snarl had a sword on the show, so that would be accurate. To the show.

I wouldn't put nay faith in that rumor for 2022 even as a Voyager (2023 is definitely possible), since we already have all the EAN coeds for the regular releases and he isn't there. The only possibility for 2022 would be as an exclusive (a few of those are unknown at this point), and I highly doubt they would go that route for Swoop.
If he gets released as a voyager, he wouldn't get a release as a leader the next year, would he? They might as well just make them all leaders.grimdragon2001 wrote:Ive been hearing rumors, just rumors, that Swoop might end up as a Voyager in SS86 so me may have him in 2022, though I may prefer to wait for a Leader in 2023.

Whilst they are charging commander price it might as well include the oversized guns that came with the G1 stunticons for vehicle modes.
