Definitely. Another figure that could use the update. Its last use was the 2014 BotCon Scorponok if I remember correctly.

IMO, in the meantime that a Commander Marvel Comics Scorponok is made (if ever), the G1 original does the job perfectly.

Original. It was only a little inaccurate, while the new one doesn't even try for accuracy at all in its robot mode.

The coloration of the original Hasbro figure is way off, but the Jazz mold transformation is way too simple to represent his bot mode. The original has the right shoulders, and that sells it for me.

That said, the Prime character designs are so stylized that I picked him and Arcee up in R.E.D. I'm G1 first, but G1 R.E.D. didn't do anything for me since their blockiness comes through in Generations. The Prime toys offer something that you can't get in a transforming toy.

Really?

I mean, its not as stylized and curvy, but they arms transform the same way, the wheels end up in the same places as the prime design, and the feet and lower leg kibble are all similar, I think it keeps the spirit of the original very well.

Is it the loving update the likes of which armada starscream is getting? no, am I upset? mildly do I care? no, the figure looks sick.

So, once they do Armada Megatron, expect that Tidal Wave will not be far off.

Also, I think when Tidalwave is done, he'll likely be a Commander class. If Hasbro decides not to redo another combiner next year, chances of him seeing release should be good.

Armada Megs is apparently set for 2023.

Alt mode isn't even that bad honestly. But the transformation is a blast and robot mode just shines in its G2-ness. That head sculpt is infinitely better than any other in the line, it is perfect.

He is a great G2 Jhiaxus toy, a great toy in general, and a great G2 toy.

I wouldn't worry too much about the design, the only line Hasbro doesn't care about accurate designs for is Prime. An Armada figure should be just fine when it comes to recreating Armada Megatron.

And yeah, I thin Tidal Wave would be perfect for Commander class. I nave no real need for him as a Titan, but at the same height as Jetfire and the same combining feature as Sky Lynx feels like the right place for him.

I've never seen that picture with the Armada Megatron's. I know back right is the OG. I assume front/center is Legends and back left is CW?

Anyway, CC Tidal Wave would be ideal with a Leader Armada Megatron in 2023. The Titan could be The Nemesis ( I'd prefer Majin Zarak but...) There's also the chance of a 2nd CC instead of a Titan, which would allow for more options. But as I'm only in favor of updates on Combiners we don't already have, I'd rather have CC Tidal Wave and a new Evil Titan as opposed to another Combiner redo.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak

So yeah, a Legacy Motormaster box set would be titan priced.

And ironically, I think that if a CW set is ever reissued, it would be titan priced regardless.

I suspect next year's Commander Class is going to be Armanda Optimus Prime, given Armada Megatron's presence in the line, and that Tidal Wave will either be a Titan, or have to wait a year.
