I liked him okay for what he was. A slight remold for a very obscure TF character. I thought that's the best we could have ever hoped for, TBH. He's fine.

New one's way, WAY better.

Is it a botcon thing? Regardless, if it's only the name with the same head as the OG Jetstorm, it barely count.

It was a KB toys exclusive, it didn't really stick around much. The colors are what the T30 figure is based on.

Wasn't sure where to put this, but this explains a LOT about why Kingdom Red Alert (and basically all Walgreens exclusives) were pretty much impossible to find in store last year. I know there was a reported sighting of purchasing it in store, but after watching this, it would seem to be possibly a one-off, or possibly an online return that someone happened to find in store.

Unfortunately, for those of us that want Minerva later this year, we will have to be eagle eyed to walgreens.com, unless you are a club member on Hasbro Pulse and like Kingdom red Alert, if it goes up there, will be sold out well before it becomes available to the General Public.

Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak

I got Quasar in a store. I saw a Red Alert in a store (but already had enough). I never did see a Baron Zemo in a store, nor Jigsaw...but couldn't get a Jigsaw.

I bought my Red Alert from Pulse last year without premium and after it went available to the general public. It was available for a while, but went quick once it was clear Walgreens wasn't going to be reliable.

This year is harder to gauge for me. Minerva is a little less prominent than Red Alert (to me at least) but on the other hand Red Alert had a figure just 2 years prior for Siege and Minerva has basically nothing. I'm thinking it may go fast on Pulse, but you never really know.

It's not that tough to gauge. It's going to go fast. She's a sleeper character that many have wanted in US collections for a long time, and then there's general FOMO. I, for one, won't be taking any chances.

In fact, I'd be more worried about how many any one person can buy. When Pulse allows two per customer, things fly out of there quickly.

I got to transform Legacy Metroplex and WHEEHHH, what a workout!

The only true flaw in that overall design is that the arms ratchets are way too hard, and/or the ratchets in the transformation joints of the shoulders are way too loose. So if you want to move Metro's arms, you must hold the shoulder joint in place with one hand.
Plus making the tall bot hold his massive weapon with both hands in a cool pose is not easy.

Despite the flaws, he's one fun chunky boi!

Now then, I predict his minicon will be a weaponizer deluxe. Coming soon!.....or later.

So which toy from legacy is your favourite so far? If we count the Velocitron line, then Cosmos is my number 1. Not sure who my number 2 is. They are all fine but not overly impressive. Like the Skids/Burn Out mold; it's good, does the job well, everything clicks into place, but I am not impressed by it, it's just ok. I really like that Blurr redeco/retool though, looks really good. And oddly enough, I forgot how much that version of Blurr felt iconic to me.

I haven't tracked down cosmos yet, and I'm a bit on the fence with Jhiaxus still. But i think Blaster is really good. And I'm liking the Wrecker Bulkhead and leadfoot

I could have some opinion of Velocitron toys.... If my local Walmart bothered stocking any.
And if those I ordered online wouldn't take over 3 months to arrive.

Regardless so far, I can't tell that I have a clear favorite.
Maybe Titan Metroplex for that pure ratchet ASMR porn.

I felt like Scott put way too much importance on the one guy that he knows that used to be in charge of the toys at Walgreens, and not enough on things like the pandemic and supply chain issues. No doubt that guy was important, but how do we know he wasn't replaced with somebody just as enthusiastic? Even if Minerva is rare to find in stores, I still don't think I'd fully believe Walgreens isn't as collector friendly until next year.

I have the new Laser Optimus Prime. I enjoy it, what do you dislike about it? It has a fun and greatly engineered transformation, very accurate in robot mode, and more accurate to an actual vehicle in alternate mode. The weapons are updated and make more sense. The only weapon he's really missing that he needs is his missiles and battle platform launchers. If you need the burning forests stickers, I thought I would, but I feel torn between accuracy to the original and the wonderful sculpting on the tanker. I chose what's already there. And that head sculpt it great too. It's a GLORIUS figure, at least according to me.

Transformation is overly complicated when compared to the original.
Robot mode is accurate to what?
More accurate to an actual vehicle? Again, what are you comparing it to?
The weapons make no sense. The axe is pointless and poorly executed.
Yes he needs the missiles and yes the battle platform needs more than just folding open and a spot for him to stand on.

So yes, compared to the original release it's very sub-par.

The original, if released today would be at Commander price at the very minimum. So the new one for the allocated budget is not that bad...

But then I just bought the Reprolabels set at 30$US and I plan to get a few upgrade kits to make it perfect. Thus, resulting in a nearly 200$CAN toy in total... All to make it comparable to the original.
And I do have the original.
Ah, the irony.

I'll answer two parts that I dislike about it, the arms and the legs.
The arms in alt mode do not seem cohesive to the vehicle, they are just an extra block and don't peg securely.
The legs are the same recycled legs I have seen so many timed before, getting really sick of them, they make the figure feel so cheap in terms of recycling previous elements, including now vestigial parts.
