Of course if you go the SS RotF Constructicon route, or TT Gen Selects route and release the set 2 or 3 years after the initial toys come out with some shiny new accessories and/or a new paint job for an astronomical price, that is a jerk move as well.
Reissuing a combiner team long after it's gone from the store shelves and the only alternative is EvilBay (at 80$ a deluxe), it's a far cry from a "jerk move".
It's the far opposite actually.

I'll answer two parts that I dislike about it, the arms and the legs.
The arms in alt mode do not seem cohesive to the vehicle, they are just an extra block and don't peg securely.
The legs are the same recycled legs I have seen so many timed before, getting really sick of them, they make the figure feel so cheap in terms of recycling previous elements, including now vestigial parts.
The arms do peg in securely in truck mode. You have to unfold the kneecaps to expose the tabs that will slot into and secure the arms.

You probably already blocked them

While Menasor is far from perfect, this set doesn't really do much to "fix" things. All Menasor needs in my eyes is new feet and knees so the legs can be turned around.

I've also heard rumblings/requests for Legacy Menasor to be repainted as G2. Please No! They tried this with CW, and they ended up on clearance for $39, and they didn't even get to finish with Defensor!
If that's the case, that would be unfortunate. However, weren't (most of) the movie Constructicons out already, before Studio Series 69 was announced?

william-james88 wrote:This. Plus boxsets in general are essentially the same as any other rerelease or repacks, they are a way for people who don't have the toys to get them. So if people can get the toys, then there is no reason for a boxset. And if people happen to double dip, then even better, though that isn't the primary purpose of a boxset.

Agreed. I don't really need him to be taller and the new chest is just an alternative, it isn't necessarily better. The only thing I like about this set is the sword. I was shocked that all they did was make the legs longer and not work in a way to turn them around since that seemed like the biggest complaint about this figure, not his height.

That would be fine, if they released them as individuals the exact same way they did the first time, but having a new premium box set with extras they know many people who bought the first are going to double-dip, which is, a Jerk move.
ZeroWolf wrote:I think what OS meant was that they should re-release the figures as they were originally with no new paint apps/extras. This is forgetting that people would then complain that they didn't get anything new with the set, as pointed out in a different thread, someone will always complain.
Regardless, I don't think we'll see a boxset soon, but then for all we know, Hasbro could reissue a complete Menasor set in 2024.

This wave includes Tarantulas, Elita-1, Wild Rider and Knockout.
If you have found them, share your sightings with our community in the sightings section and on our boards in your region related thread.

He's the only one I want from this wave as well, although with how distribution has been in the past, probably won't be seeing these in stores near me for 1-3 months after the initial sightings. I'll likely get my Amazon pre-order before I see him in an actual store

The Combiner Teams from 1985-1990 had gift sets along with the individual bots on shelves at the same time, it didn't seem to hurt sales back then. Also as stated above, TT UW sets were announced either at the same time, or slightly before their Hasbro CW counterparts were on shelves, so informed customers could make a choice and not have to buy both.william-james88 wrote:This. I'm pretty sure most people who got Selects Volcanicus & Abominus were not first time owners. They were either begrudgingly upgrading, or selling off their PotP versions to try to recoup some of the loss of purchasing the same toy again. I mean Volcanicus is objectively not a great toy, it was highly criticized, and most who wanted Dinobots wanted big beefy leaders like what SS86 is doing now. I dont think from 2018 to 3 years later in 2021, there was a large sum of people that were thinking "darn I missed out on Volcanicus", so much that TT did a slightly upgraded reissue. Same with Abominus. While I am in that "Animation Accurate" niche, it is just that, and not enough to warrant a whole reissue I would think, unless they thought they could sucker enough people who bought the first one to purchase it again.
