I think Tarn is proving to be pretty popular…
I’ve seen a couple LP’s, then 4 more later (after the first two were gone), and the only Tarn I’ve seen was the one I bought.
It really is weird how Legacy waves 3 & 4 basically dissolved into thin air.

I get it, Hastak is going to push the evo-fusion however they need to…
And yes, an agressive “antenna-blaster” can act as a “power-up” for that character.
Just seems a little weak.

I’m also one who hates forced weapon storage…
It just seems like there are very few times where the weapon and the storage location are truly coalesced with any real intentionality.
And I know, I know, kids lose stuff…. But when this aspect substantially influences any sort of design, for me it’s annoying and unnecessary.
It comes off like a loud minority was catered to.

None of the Primal variants did IIRC. Lio Convoy (Copy Convoy) was the very first in a long line of evil copy's in Black. Not sure if Big Convoy got one or not. There wasn't one in the show.

Big Convoy did get a black repaint, but it wasn't an "evil" version.

I don't know if this affects your opinion, but Twincast isn't retooled from Blaster at all. The weapon storage is completely the same on both.

Repaints are a big part of Transformers and this method keeps costs down.

Pretooled heads like this go as a far back as... the beginning of the Generations line in 2010 and Reveal the Shield, I think? No wait, Cybertron Scrapmetal had a pretooled alternate head back in 2006. That might have been one of the first instances of the practice.

Swoop doesn't seem to be a limb. Does he actually combine? If so it doesn't look like either mode was compromised for the combination gimmick, just the size restriction.

He's the Right Arm. The Pteranodon head seems to be the Shoulder socket, and the Guns combine to form the Black Fist.

I like that they even gave these "Definitely going to be retooled into the Dinoforce/Pretender Monster figures" Dinoking/Monstructor's signature Knuckle guns.

All the limbs match up for the eventual Dinoking recolor/remold. I can't wait! Now all we are missing is Snarl/Doryu.

While I'm personally waiting for the Monstructor/Dinoking retool down the line...I do admit I enjoy how adorable having teeny little Dinobots. Probably helps kids out too who couldn't get their hands on the larger Volcanicus. :lol:

Looking at Core Swoop, we can get a good idea what the leader will end up looking like as well. The transformation might be a bit different, but is it safe to assume SS86 Swoop will just be a much larger version of this figure?

As for Scarr, I wish they had used 'Skarr' instead. Just looks better. 'Scarr' just seems lazy. And it would be awesome if he also got a leader class version, though obviously not in SS86.

The Core Dinobots are DISGUSTANG in my opinion. But their inevitable repaints/retool as (maybe) Monstructor? Oh, I'm looking forward to those.

Well, I hope with the reveal of Skarr and Swoop we can stop treating the repaints to Moonstructor/Dinoking as rumors, those are the same style of fist-guns the original combiners used.
