By "masterpiece" (lowercase M), they mean "Being a Masterpiece does not make it perfect or flawless". There is no such thing as a perfect/flawless figure.

Lots of folks on this site are able to afford Masterpieces. En masse. So the price really isn't that much of an issue, here.

Given that we now know the behind scenes in this figure's creation, with China being the target market of release( my speculation as China is just nuts over TFS), this is a godsend to our fellow Chinese fans.

The figure may not be perfect (I'm not letting go of mine btw together with MP01), I'll just look at this as glass half full. Maybe we can now start the countdown for MP Megatron version 2 soon to be in scale with MP-10.

Still looking for pieces to fix mine that i broke 7 years ago. Takara should include extra pieces for these delicate Mps. You can't touch them without breaking something.

But then they would have to give you 2 figures in all. Seriously, any piece has a chance of breaking. I broke my Ghost Starscream's arm the second time I transformed him, and yet a bunch of people tell me it's the wings they broke.

The defunct Yamato through a certain website provided replacement shoulders for their 1/60 Valkyries a few years back. Too bad they folded up. Don't know if Arcadia is just as generous.

If the upcoming Leader Megatron doesn't fit with MP-10, I'm either going to buy this or *shudder* wait for an MP Megs 2.0.

Leader Jetfire is like half an inch shorter than MP-10, not a couple inches. And Leaders and MPs are different lines, so of course they don't scale together.

Ah, MP-05, back again, I see...
I never was the biggest fan of the proportions of this guy, nor how lopsided he tended to feel with his cannon attached, though there were a few poses I found that made him stand solid.
I got Megs on the first run, so mine does have the tarnished metal on his feet, but aside from that I've had no problems with flimsy parts or anything falling off/breaking. He even survived no less than three swan-dives from the top of a rather high shelf in years gone by.

All in all, I'm glad I got one when I did, but this re-release simply should not happen, especially not if they're chroming him a-la G1. There are nice "machined metal" details molded into his gun parts (chest, arms, etc.) that probably won't even show up after a chrome job. Also, as someone who paid $120 for this toy back when it came out, I shudder seeing a $199 price tag on it. It's simply not good enough to warrant that kinda price. I know I said I had no real issues with mine (tarnished die-cast aside) but I also understand I'm in the minority here. A toy that, for many, has been a hassle, with engineering issues and bits breaking off should not be asking such a high price.

I will be watching this from afar, safe in the knowledge that I've got one, apparently one of the few good ones.

I'm perfectly fine with Megatron being taller than Optimus. It's just that the original MP-05 was too flimsy and unbalanced to display.
Generations Jetfire is about a head shorter than MP-10, as someone already pointed out. About the same height as MP Starscream, actually. Plus, most of his plastic budget went into the extra weapons, so it's not unreasonable to think Generations Megatron might be taller.
