Personally I do hope the MP Beast Wars ends before Beast Machines. Those designs didn't even look right in the show, let alone the toy line.

If anything, Masterpiece would be the line with the level of engineering needed to finally give us Beast Machines toys at a show-accurate level.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Personally I do hope the MP Beast Wars ends before Beast Machines. But the designs were so ugly. The Vehicons were pretty good though. Through them it was nice to see a G1-like aesthetic for the first time in CG. I actually had the Ultra Jetstorm and the regular version, which I really liked. Although less so when they revealed it was actually Silverbolt, one of my least favourite BW characters ever.

That's what made them cool! They were so alien and otherworldly in their hideousness that they were all practically cosmic monster dudes.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Sabrblade wrote:If anything, Masterpiece would be the line with the level of engineering needed to finally give us Beast Machines toys at a show-accurate level.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Personally I do hope the MP Beast Wars ends before Beast Machines. As a fan of Movie Monsters and Monstrous designs in general, I still didn't like any of the Beast Machines Maximals. Especially Rattrap!
That said, although I purchased several Vehicons, I did buy one Maximal:

A design I thought was really good and understated. Obviously completely unused in the show. I think with a repaint, he would have made a good BM Ultra Magnus alternate to Optimus Primal.

I'm looking forward to MP default Tarantulas and Blackarachnia in that respect. Their beast modes should look fantastic in MP form.

We've already got something like that.

TM2 Mega Blackarachnia turns into a massive spider. Sure, she no longer looks like a real spider, but I suppose BM Blackarachnia in the cartoon only looks real in the dark. Still, the TM2 version still holds up really well compared to the cartoon and doesn't suffer from obtrusive gimmicks like some did. I doubt a BW MP regular version would be any bigger.

But her Beast Mode should look on point. Just like MP Tarantulas.

Yeah, BW Blackarachnia wouldn't be that big. I'd still buy her though because she's my favourite character, and also giant bugs look better next to vehicles than giant gorillas.
However, a Beast MACHINES Blackarachnia MP would be colossal.

She was the biggest Maximal in the show, with her spider mode's leg span being able to contain all the other "starting" Maximals within it. Had the Beast Machines toyline not been given such bizarre scaling, she would have been the ideal candidate for the Supreme pricepoint (that oddly went to Cheetor). Sure she isn't particularly bulky, but her actual size due to those enormous multi-jointed legs and fairly voluptuous spider body (never thought I'd be calling a spider voluptuous) would mean that she'd have a hell of a shelf footprint.
Now it's unlikely to happen because A: BM wouldn't sell very well (especially given the cost of manufacture), B: she'd be nigh-on impossible to engineer to be even remotely show accurate in both modes, and C: Even if Takara made a transformable BM Blackarachnia that didn't self-destruct on contact due to all the micro hinges, she'd be impossible to stand up in robot mode unless they gave her a display stand.
I just want my Supreme-sized spider to frighten guests with though, I'll be honest.

Not quite. In Beast Mode her legs were enormous, but her body was of similar mass to Rattrap and Nightscream. In robot mode, she was tall, but still shorter than both Cheetor and Silverbolt, and less massive overall than Optimus Primal. In fact, Botanica was also of similar height and mass to her robot mode.Black Hat wrote:She was the biggest Maximal in the show,

I also feel as much as the robot mode looks more alive... the vehicle mode is much more bland w/o the lettering. I'm so conflicted.

Maybe they could? Prowl's original release didn't include launchers that I can remember. I haven't been able to play with the Datsun mold in a couple of years, since I moved and haven't ever unpacked them from their boxes.

The original Lambo and Datsun mold I got way too many of to be realistically investing in the + line. Even if I did like the change to Red Alert.
